Heart of Darkness/Jane Eyre

I'm reading Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad for school [summer reading] & it just goes on and on and on and on about useless random stuff!!!! I have no idea what the plot of this book is & I get only 60% of what I'm reading. It's like I'm reading the book but the words go in through one eye and out the other. I've made a schedule to finish it by August [I'm in Heart of Darkness part III right now] & I'll probably finish it, but I would have no clue as to what I read. Can anyone give me a really brief idea on what it's about and what the point of the book is? I'm trying to refrain from Sparknotes online and all those similar sites because our school makes us sign sheets that says we're not going to get help from online sites ...

Are there any FREE programs that i can download where i can make everything else in a picture black and white, and then make like one flower or something the color it is? I know i can do it on photoshop, but i don't want to buy something and i don't want just a free 30 day trial or whatever.

Well Aug 10, my friend is having a party.
He is really cute, and everybody is going.
Its a pool party
anyways, on my calender , it says my period should be coming around aug 9...
I cant put a tampon in all the way, but i cant parshally with some hanging out.
If i wear a black bathing suit and a tampon , half in...
Would that be okay?
What should i do?
Will the tampon fall out

I have been tasked to set up an internet radio station for my school, and I'm just wondering what I will need.
I know that I will need to buy a broadcasting thing off the internet, a server thing you know. For the bandwith.
But i need to know some cheap ones and anything else I might need.

ive never really gotten in a fight before except for with my brother and we never actually beat eachother up ya know? and lately ive been "involved" with this girl who has a psycho ex that wants to kick my ass, and im probably stronger than him but i dont really know how to fight? i mean i can punch and stuff but yeah any advice is appreciated, telling me to talk it out etc etc is not appreciated hah

on facebook, i have the "honesty box" application. well, some people said some stuff in mine & replied, but it's been over a month & they haven't replied back. when - I - reply t them in response to their original honesty box comment, how do they find out i replied? do they have to check back on my honesty box? - especially the people who don't have the honesty box application.

Photo Editing

I've tried using Picasa2 and Picnik. Is there anyway to using focal black and white thing on more thang one thing. Like can you have only eyes be in color with everything black and white? When I've tried doing this it only lets me do one eye. Or is there any other free photo editing program that allows me to do this?
