What does a £ translate into for $? I want to shop online but it has the price in £ and not $. Thanks!

That symbol is for British pounds sterling, at the moment it's roughly 1 British pound = 2.0627 U.S. dollars. The euro symbol looks like this €. If that's what you meant the conversion at the moment is around 1 Euro = 1.38200 U.S. dollars.
