Please dont be offended by this, it's something i have been wondering about, it sounds discusting (and it is) but i think it must have happend.
Did God only create Adam and Eve or did he make other humans too?
I ask, because if it was only up to them to populate the earth hen surely incest must have taken place :-s
Adam and eve could have lots of children but then when they died there would have just been brothers and sisters left so that means that they wuld have had to make babies with eachother to make more people.
Is that what happend? i know it wasnt illegal back then but it's just so icky.
i know its a wierd question to ask but no one else ever talks about how people were made.
Mr_Skittles answered Wednesday April 19 2006, 8:26 pm: It is only 'icky' now because in gods eyes we have been tainted. Just as being nude wasn't taboo back then, though it is today.
aprilmay7 answered Wednesday April 19 2006, 12:00 am: ok first things first God never has and never will condone incest!!!! Also....ok we are about to get deep. God created Adam and Eve...they had cain and abel first. Cain killed abel so the only one left was cain. After cain killed abel God banished Cain from his home land and family and he went into the land of Og. This is where the giants lived. Some theologin say that the giants were actually where the fallen angels (demons) mated with human to make the giants. Cain got with these little poeple and they had their own race. So then while all of this happened Adam and Eve went on to have other kids.
While the Bible says that Adam and Eve was the first created beings on this earth and they were....it never once said that they were the only created beings on this earth. Don't limit God to only two humans!! He could have made more....the Bible never says. But if you really wanna know the lineage and geneology you can read Genesis and Exodus and that will give you some background. Also, why don't you go to this website called answersingenesis.com it has a lot of really good answers to some of these questions and more!! [ aprilmay7's advice column | Ask aprilmay7 A Question ]
VainTaraLynn answered Tuesday April 18 2006, 11:50 am: Hm. this is an interesting topic. I've wondered this same thing actually, cause I'm agnostic and really big on disputing religious issues.. but thats besides the point. I agree with the people below about the incest thing, but one thing that doesnt make sense to me is.. get this. we have probably.. idk billions of people living in the US today.. and billions of people around the world. Now tell me. How can 2 people. Adam & eve create THAT many people. Think about it. Say they had 3 kids, 2 boys & a girl. the boy & the girl would have a kid. they would grow old and die & that leaves the kid. Or they would each have to have 2 kids, but even still the older generations would die and that would leave at least 2 people still left. they would all have to have at least 20 kids to get the earth anywhere near populated. It just doesnt make sense to me. Also about the race thing. I dont believe in evolution, I think thats crazy but creationalism doesnt make sense either. but for the reason stated above. Also just so all of you guys know. Nowhere in the bible does it say Adam & Eve are white. I know alot of people i talk to say oh well if they were white how come we have blacks and asians and bla bla bla. The whole thing is a mystery to me also.
redninja answered Sunday April 16 2006, 11:42 pm: assuming that the first people were "adam and eve" then yea, them adn their offspring would have populated the earth. [ redninja's advice column | Ask redninja A Question ]
Nadia answered Sunday April 16 2006, 11:39 pm: this is simply my opinion and beliefs, so please dont go hassling me or anything peoples.
incest did take place but God was watching over them and made sure that the babies didnt turn out with any dissabilities etc. as time went on the generations would have slowly grown apart.
simple as that :) [ Nadia's advice column | Ask Nadia A Question ]
Alpha345 answered Sunday April 16 2006, 1:39 pm: The issue is in genetics.
Say Adam and Eve have the perfect genes. They reproduce and their children have the perfect genes as well. but when the children reproduce with each other, the genes start to become corrupted.
And so with time, the perfect genes were lost and forgotten. You can see now how imperfect the human genome is now with all the disorders and diseases about that are effected solely by genetics and hereditary. Over time the genes would have changed into completely new strains thanks to crossing over and alleles switching over.
It's complicated, and you asked a good and valid question. Incestial breeding corrupts the human genome faster than normal, so saying that Adam and Eve's children had this relationship, would explain for the more rapid detereoation of human genes. Also this kind of breeding brings on my diseases and disorders.
This was a good question. So I hope I helped you and atleast gave you a clearer idea on how things "might" have happened. Adam and Eve were diffenantly the first people.
NinjaNeer answered Sunday April 16 2006, 1:12 pm: Well the person below me was a little mistaken; the reason why inter-familial breeding is bad is because genetic flaws and mutations are amplified as the generations progress. They won't all be "retards".
Personally, I'm an evolutionist, because creationism really doesn't make sense; if there were only two original humans, why do we all look different? Why are there different races?
honu22 answered Sunday April 16 2006, 1:06 pm: According to religion, I guess that must have happened. But logicaly, there must have been more people because when "family breeding" takes place, genetics can get messed up and a lot of people would have been retards (or have something wrong with them). lol I don't know.
