A few good activities that can simply assist in porportioning the body in it's ENTIRTY would be anything that gets the blood circulation goin', such as: jogging, jumping jacks, jumping rope, walking, and bicycle riding. Also, if you have access to a heated pool, water aerobics work like a charm!!
And if you'd like to target your tummie specifically, try doing a couple hundred sit ups or crunches. I know, I know, I know.. "a couple hundred" SEEMS like a lot. However, if you break it up into sessions, it's really not that difficult.
Also, you're absolutely right, eating properly is a humongous part of this. I would not suggest "throwing up". That would be insanely unwise. It may appear that you're slimming down and bettering your body, but you're really only destroying yourself from the inside out. Excessive vomiting (such as Bulimia) can cause tooth decay, kidney failure, mood swings, loss of menstrual cycle (which could VERY possibly damage your ability to EVER bear children), and so. The proper way to go about weight loss is just to eat right. Providing you cut out the EXTREMELY unhealthy foods, such as WHITE bread [substitute it with wheat], cake products, ice cream, hamburgers, and soda... [if you're used to consuming A LOT of it] you can see a significant amount of weight loss after the first two weeks, alone.
As you probably already know, it's best to eat several small portions a day; but this does not mean to "starve" yourself. Say, have an apple and a piece of cheese, two hours later have a few crakers, and an hour later have one piece of wheat toast, and so on and so forth, ya know??? And those are just some snack ideas. When it comes to solid meals, you don't really have to cut out much. Just take in moderation. Little intakes of food like that gives your body time to digest it properly. You see how that's better than eating one or two huge meals a day?? Because then it would take too long to catch up, and your bodyy will not be able to burn the calories quickly enough; so it just quits, adding body fat.
Of course you must realize that weight loss takes time. I can't really say how long it will take; I suppose that differs from person to person. It really just depends on how much weight you're looking to shed. I'd say you could lose 10 to 20 pounds within the first month; that's very possible (seeing as how a good portion of that 10-20 pounds will be water weight).
You just have to stay committed, and strive to keep up the drive. Some tips: just try to keep yourself busy, and sleep as often as possible. Those things keep your mind off of food.
Sure it seems like you're giving up so much, but think about what you will be gaining if you feel better about yourself?? That's the best damned grand prize you'll EVER find.

this worked and i started binging on lettuce and celery! lol.

Substituting carrots might help, find a really good healthy snack! Like.. granny smith apples with a little bit of carmel. Granny smith's have something that help burn fat.
Or eat just a little bit of junk food at a time. Try to train yourself to eat smaller portions if you can't totally ween yourself from chocolatly goodness.
Get rid of soda completely from your diet! All I did was cut out soda from my diet and lost 5lbs in two weeks.
Instead of having anything fried, get it baked. It'll help =D

sunnyville answered Wednesday October 5 2005, 6:59 pm: What you can do is just put your mind on the television watching a favorite program you like, get rid of the junk food before you may probably can't resist getting your hands on it.You could go outside, practice with a couple of friends playing basketball or handball or other sports that get you going into action.Or rent some movies or do some workout,at the same time hear some music.Or you could some studying or do some crossword puzzles or buy some magazines but it doesn't really have to be these exactly things I'm just giving you some good examples of things that sets your mind a lot so you would be really focused on that and not on the junk food.Which by the way helps to set your mind about other things as well.Run daily for at least fourty five
minutes.Eat several fruits, vegetables, eat every three hours, for a meal eat half of a plate, and a small amount of meat but try staying away form foods that are red meat or greasy foods and drink at least eight cups of water daily as well.Good luck! sizzlinmandolin answered Wednesday October 5 2005, 6:23 pm: I know how you feel. The exact same thing happens to me. When I was a senior in high school I was about 5'6'' tall and I weighed about 140. I always got so mad about that stupid little gut I had. I was jealous of the girls who's stomachs actually curved IN instead of stuck out. But the truth is, probably no matter how thin you get it won't go away, it's how your body is shaped. I lost ten pounds during track that year and though I was thinner it still looked exactly the same! It's not all that bad though...the way that you look at it, from above, is an angle that makes it look like more than it really is, plus, you are always your worst critic. You are in shape, and you are really active, so eating a lot of food is actually helping you gain back all that energy that you lose during the day. Junk food likely isn't making you gain weight, this is about the time when people start filling out because they've stopped growing taller. Plus, muscle does weigh more than fat. You are definitely not overweight and until you stop being so active, don't worry about what you eat unless all that grease makes you feel sick. If you're REALLY worried about the way that your stomach looks, plain old sit ups will probably help flatten it out a little. I hope I helped!
