Q: how do you become popular?

well,
when i think of popular, i think of people who are outgoing, fun, and friendly. not necessarily the people who have gone out with the most guys or are the prettiest or have hooked up the most times. so really all you have to do to become popular is be nice to people. to me, the person who is most popular is the person who is friends with everyone and has virtually no enemies. well i hope i helped!!

Q: does garlic really make your breath smell bad? i like the smell of garlic and have eaten if with other people and never noticed their breath smelling bad. is this true? also, does it really keep away vampires? thanks. i have a big problem with those and i have tried everything.

i know who asked this question and i know that they meant it as a joke, but i am going to be a good advice columnlist and answer it like a real question. garlic does typically leave a strong odor in your mouth, but it depends on how much you've had and it may have different effects on different people, but i have to say i'm not a garlic expert. also, the thing about vampires is really just an old myth. i mean really have you ever seen a vampire, but if you have vampire problems it couldn't hurt to try the garlic thing. but i haven't heard recentley that that really works, even if there are such things as vampires, which i highly doubt. well i hope i helped and that your breath is smelling as fresh as ever lol!

Q: I really like this guy, and he knows that. One day i heard that he had asked out another girl and i got really upset, even though thats stupid and he has every right to go out with who he wants to. So my friend then called him and said all these things like "you know ______ likes you" and "whats your problem?" it turned out that none of these things were true. and the worst part is my friend pretended to be me, but he didn't believe it. So then i called him back and was like "yea my friend called you im really sorry about that..i'm not exactlly sure what she said (a lie) so..yea." then he quickly said bye and hung up. Now he knows thar i told people that i like him, and i dont think that he wanted me to because he hates all the peer presure like "ask her out" and stuff. i really liked this guy and upset that i screwed things up so badly. should i just pretend it never happened? please help. im not even sure if i like him anymore, or if he likes me.

definitley don't pretend it didn't happen. you need to talk to him and tell him what exactly happened and once he hears the truth from you i'm sure he'll understand. well i hoped i helped and that everything turns out ok!

Q: What is the polite thing to say to someone after they just completely messed up a relationship with a guy they really liked and are in a bad mood? i wanna show the person i care, but i know that their sensitive right now and anything i say could be taken the wrong way. please help.

the only thing you can do is say your sorry. saying sorry can't hurt, it can only help.

Q: ok so this question/ problem has happened to me like 10 bagillion times so i need help really badly. so yea im going out with someone and i like him alot but i also like someone else. i feel real bad for the person im going out and i dont no what to do!! HELP!!

well you have to think about who is the person who you really do like. if you can't do that then that's ok. it's all rite to like two people and it doesn't mean that you're a slut if that's wat you're thinking. if you decide you like them both then instead of trying to hide your guilt from the guy you're going out with i say break up with him. be single for a little bit so you can try to decide which guy you really like better. well, i hope i helped!

Q: ok so i have this really good friend. And one day me, her, and two other girls wanted to go to the movies. It was really late by the time we decided and the girl had to be home by 10:00. So she was gonna go home and then come back and see the movie with us. But you see the movie was in georgetown and it started at 10:00 so the girl couldn't come. Then she invited us to go to her house and watch a movie but we sorta wanted to go to a theater. So anyway when she called to invite us to come to her house she sounded really sad and upset which made me really sad and i didn't even have a fun time cuz she wasn't there and shes my good friend. And my other friend forced me to tell the other friend who i liked which wasn't nice either and i know that this other friend would have made it better. Anyway, i really like this friend and i dont want her to be upset or mad that we didn't come to her house. Is there anyway that i could make this up to her?
(she can't really do anything fun for awhile cuz she has this big thing coming up and shes really busy and doesn't wanna get sick.) please help!

ok, first of all (hannah) i am allowed to do fun things and it's not that i had to be home by ten because of my parents. it was because i get tired and i just don't stay up that late. but don't be upset don't even worry about it ok? and the only way to make it up to me is to just forget that it never happened and maybe go to a movie really late after my "big thing" ok? i appreciate the question/personal letter, but it was toatlly not necessary. ok? hannah we're like really good friends and something as silly as this could never hurt our friendship ok? well i'll see you on monday or maybe i'll call sooner ok? love ya chicka!

i've seen alot of questions just like this and i'm going to say the same thing i have in the past. you seem to really like your bf, so you shouldn't break that friendship just because of another the friend that hates your bf. your friend should be supportive of you and your bf. to me she doesn't seem like a very good friend. i would try talking to her and asking her to just stay out of your relationship even if she doesn't like your bf. if she just doesn't listen than just ignore her or tell her you don't want to be friends anymore because you have a bf that's your own buisness not your friends. well i hope i helped! and i hope everything works out!

Q: Ok, well... my best friend is a guy, and his name is Chris. He's really awesome, and we're really close. I've always thought of him as a brother to me. But lately everyone has been asking me, "Are you two going out?" and "Do you like him?" and everytime my answer is "no." but lately I've been thinking, and I feel weird whenever I talk to him now. Whenever he comforts me about stuff, I just feel... really really happy. Rediculously happy. Almost..fuzzy inside? I don't know, but I keep thinking that I'm starting to have feelings for him. But we're just friends.. friend's arent supposed to crush on eachother. But I can't help myself.

SO MY QUESTION IS: Am I in love with him? and if I do why do I feel so uncomfortable?

i believe that you are in love with him. i had the same experience. when i was at camp this past summer, i was really good friends with this guy and then all of a sudden i started getting the same feeling you get, sort of fuzzy and i realized that i liked him. the reason i think you feel so uncomftorable is that like you said, he's always been like a brother to you. you're not used to this new emotion and feeling for your friend. don't fight it just let everything fall into place and i'm sure it will work out fine. i hope i helped

Q: I am a basset hound lover. Everything in my house is devoted to bassett hounds. Recenly, my oldest and most favorite bassett hound, (one of six) died. It happened overnight, and in the morning i woke up to find my other dogs feasting on him! I was planning on having an open-casket funeral, (he was an award winner and very beautiful. I am passonate about my dogs) But he is very torn up. I still want ot have an poen casket because i heard that funeral homes can sew him back togethor and make him look as good as new. Do you know what i should do in this situation and what funeral homes are good? please help!

i can't say that i'm an expert of deaths and funerals, but i do know that you should do wat feels rite to you. i'm sure this is a very sensitive issue for you and you don't want some random person telling you wat to do. but wat i can tell you is go to your church, synagogue, etc. and ask them which funeral home they suggest. i'm sure they have a good idea of nice funeral homes in the area. well i hope i helped and i hope your funeral turns out well.

Q: ok so i have this friend who is a BIG morning person. She calls me very early in the morning when i am sleeping and won't stop talking. She also won't let me hang up on her, she can get very upset. I am afraid that my friend might have emotional issues due to detachment problems. What can i do to let my friend know she is a crazy mental loser?

i think that you should definitley talk to her and ask her to stop calling you so early in the morning, i no i wouldn't appreciate that. once you talk to her i'm sure she'll understand. well i hope i helped!

Q: sorry it's so long, and please look at this in an open-minded manner, and i'm not looking for answers that say you're waiting for marriage so i'm a slut. i'll rate high if you tried, and low if you're ignorant.

my ex-boyfriend broke up in august and aren't dating exclusively, but we still hook-up from time to time. hooking up meaning having sex. we had sex today, and then i went to the movies with one of my close guy friends. we went back to my guy friend's house and we had sex. i really want to forget it ever happened and not tell anybody, though. the guy promised he wouldn't tell, and i trust him. the thing is, if it gets out somehow, and my ex-boyfriend finds out, he'll hate me. should i tell him or just let it slide? by the way, i'm on birth control and i only have sex with a condom.

i believe that telling him is the only truthful thing to do. if you're truly sorry then that's definitley wat you should do, tell him your sorry. and i'm sure if you explain it to him well he won't hate you. well i hope i helped!

Q: Well, there's this guy, omg where do I begin....I love him sooooo much, and I know this for a fact because in the past I've had two bad relationships, and I vowed to myself that I can never love a man again....until I met, well let's call him Jack. Jack and I work together, and we've actually gotten alot closer throughout the time we've worked together. I've liked Jack now for 7 months now. I found out a while back that Jack liked me too, but I never really believed the people who told me because I've been rejected quite a few times. So yeah, I'm like deeply in love with him, and where I work @ we're about to get laid-off, but he said we're gonna keep in touch and besides we live close to eachother. So should I break the ice? Our management staff (cause we're both on it) has this blog thing, I write on it how I feel about a certain someone being jack, be he dosen't know it. But everyone thinks we date, we act like a married couple, and we just basically enjoy eachother in eachothers presence. We're almost like best friends, cause he's been there through alot... so I want him to know how I care about him but I dunno how, and i'm afraid that I'll loose what I already have with Jack. Do yall think there's a possibility that we could date?

omg, there's like no question about it! it seems like you too are meant for each other. why don't you just ask him to join you for lunch at a local cafe at your lunch break, or maybe just ask him to walk around a park with you for an hour or so. those are both ways to get a relationship started. otherwise, give him some time and i'm sure he'll come along. well i hope i helped!

your friends don't seem to be very supportive of you, so they don't seem to me like good friends. i know this sounds corny, but follow your heart(and yes that is from Napolean dynamite, but that's ok, right?) anyway, if you know that you really like him, then keep dating him. don't listen to your friends because all their doing is pulling you down from wat could be a wonderful friendship between you and your bf. well i hope i helped!

Q: 18f I have met a guy online. I talk to him and he messages me right away (We also have friendster). We have been talking for about a month now and we have upgraded to aim. He makes me laugh and I make him laugh. He mentioned in passing that if he knew me (like if we had been friends and keow each other he would have asked me out) He siad that I am funny and interesting. i think that he probably does like you. he seems like a really nice guy, but the question is do you like him? I think the whole online thing is great, but i've heard so many stories about girls being kidnapped and stuff, that i would strongly advise you not to meet him in person and to continue your aim chats. but really it's up to you, so i hope i helped!

omg i have the best birthday party idea. well last year for my birthday i rented a limo and went all around my area in the limo and then stopped for smoothies it was awesome. we had the best time. i'm going to remember that birthdya forever and i think you should do it to. it's so much fun and not as expensive as it sounds! well i hope i helped!

what i love to do when i'm bored is make collages of your favorite watever. they're so easy and they're very time consuming especially if you want them good. all you have to do is cut pictures out from magazines and paste them onto construction paper. then you can put them in your locker, bedroom, or on your binder even. well i hope i helped!
