I went to the OB/GYN for my annual check-up today, and they did the usual pap smear and breast exams.
My doctor told me she felt a lump in my breast, and my heart fell straight out of my butt. I had never been so scared in my life, and a hundred things went through my brain at once. (I thought that only happened on TV). I am only seventeen, so hearing her say that really scared me more than I have ever been scared in my life. I literally was only one breath away from crying.
She quickly tried making me feel better by telling me to feel it and then explaining that it may just be some kind of cystic fibrosis cyst or something of that sort, and told me it could just be from drinking too much caffeine. (I've tried cutting down on my soda intake)
I didn't miss that she said "may be" though. And I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. She told me to watch the lump and continue doing self breast exams, but I couldn't even feel the lump she tried showing me! I have no idea how to check myself and I can't stop thinking that it may not be a cyst.
What do I do?

well, this depends. what phone service do you have? verizon? if you have verizon, record the sound in your get it now or media center. then send your sound to yourself (type in your cell phone number.) It will come up as a sound message and you can click save as ringtone or something like that.

it is a possibility. unless you're ready to have a baby, always use protection. you'll feel more relaxed and you won't have to worry so much about getting pregnant. also, using a condom helps lower your risk of STD's and other sexually transmitted diseases that can occur throughout sex. no matter when you have sex, it is possible to get pregnant, period or no period. also, even though your boyfriend did not cum, there is precum that comes out during foreplay and intercourse, which can cause pregnancy. use a condom and be safe.

So I have this weird problem where when I have to read something in class, I get really nervous. My voice shakes, and I have to swallow a lot, other wise my voice gets caught on saliva, and I even tremble a little. I know this is nothing really serious, but it bothers me, and I wish I didn't get so nervous, but I can't seem to stop it. This only started recently, maybe a month ago. Can someone help me?
at times, I get really nervous to, even if it's reading a line from my english book to the class. I've learned that things like this are in my head, or in my imagination. If you're confident in yourself, you shouldn't be afraid to speak in front of others. don't be afraid. there really is nothing to be nervous about. take a deep breath and relax, and know that everyone else goes through what you do, too.

ok so i was sitting down today doing a and i noticed a big red lump on my penis just near my pubic hair but not on them i think it cound be a bad thing but i dont really want to tell my parents about it cause i havent shown my penis to anyone since i was about 5 and now i dont know what to do
it kind of looks like a mosquito bite but a bit bigger i think it might be a tick but im not good with animal bites so what could it be and what should i do about it
try using an antibiotic to help the bump. it shouldn't be anything severe. maybe it is razor burn if you shave down there? if it gets worse, or doesn't get any better within a few weeks, call a doctor, get some insight from them.
i finished my period on a monday then i had unsafe sex the following day (tuesday)..does that mean i can still get/be pregnant??????
there's always a chance of getting pregnant even if it is protected, so be careful. having unsafe sex is not smart, and even if your guy pulls out, there is still precum that comes out that can cause pregnancy. if you miss your period, take a pregnancy test. if you are responsible enough to have sex, you are responsible enough to know that your actions could lead to having a baby, right?

not wanting to have sex is a good decision, especially because you realize that you are not ready to have a baby yet. but having "dry sex" still could be dangerous, because the material that underwear is made out of can allow his semen to leak through. if you're going to do it through your underwear you might as well be safer and use a latex condom because they help prevent diseases and pregnancy.
so saturday night mom and i had a big argument.. and i ended up leaving because she said to get out her house and give her my keys.. my cell phone.. everything...

even though you may think she doesn't show it, your mom obviously cares about you. try talking to her. you'll feel better and maybe you won't feel the way that you are feeling right now.
So im 14, female and freshmen at school. I only play volleyball as a sport but since that is over i have nothing to do. So ive been thinking of getting a job. Most of the jobs live very close to me. but i've been thinking if i can get a job at a hairstyle place. Like clean up, set appointments, or getting the people who are waiting to get there cut all set and ready while the hairstylst finishes up on someone else. Do you think they would allow that?

next time you're with him, tell him you're cold and ask if you can wear one of his hoodies. it doesn't have to be a surprise to him if you're going to wear his clothes, so maybe next time you're over his house, steal a pair of his shorts and a t shirt from his drawer and change into it.

and if you're not comfortable doing something with a guy, that's perfectly ok. stick to your gut feeling. if you really are comfortable with the guy, you should be able to tell that he made you a little uneasy and that you're not really ready to take your friendship to the next level.

you are only fourteen. sex is a very big thing, and you need to be sure that you want to be with this guy forever if you're going to do something with him that could cost you your life, and most young relationships don't last. ask your boyfriend this... "are we ready for the responsibility to have a baby if something goes wrong?" when a guy says that they will pull out, they do know what they are talking about. they have a feeling that they are going to have an orgasm, and when they get that feeling, semen is released which carries sperm, and that is what can cause pregnancy. be sure, if you're going to have sex, you use a latex condom because if the sex is unprotected, precum is still released from the penis during sexual intercourse and that can also cause pregnancy. also, stds are very common, so condoms also help lower your risk of getting an std, or sexually transmitted disease. my advice, don't be sexually active. there are other ways to have fun, but if you choose to be sexually active, know that there can be consequences if you don't take the right precautions.
One night I did stuff with this guy. I was drinking and so was he (dont give me crap for that!). I know we made out and he fingered, but thats all i know for sure. People told me he said we had sex, and that they all thought we did. take a pregnancy test. you'll stop being so worried about it and you'll be able to relax. would you rather spend 30 dollars on a pregnancy test or worry about spending a million dollars on a child?
i have naturally curly hair, but i straighten it 95% of the time. if i bought straightening shampoo, and curl enhancing shampoo and used the straightening one on days i planned to straighten my hair and the curl enhancing one on days i wanted to leave my hair curly, would it help? or are you supposed to use the product continuously for it to affect your hair?
your hair experiences all different types of styles. one day your hair might look great curly and other days, you might want to throw it up in a messy bun. shampoo goes right on the hair, and therefore, is fast acting so using a product contiuously isn't necessary for you to get the effect that you're looking for.

you'll always have feelings for your first love, or even your first kiss. just because you and james are not together anymore doesn't mean that you can't think about him and still care about him, even if you guys rarely talk. be honest with anthony and tell him that he reminded you of an ex boyfriend, but let him know how appreciative you are that you have him in your life.

making out takes some practice. if you keep your lips pressed, it'll be more like a kiss. if you slightly open your mouth and turn your head to the opposite direction your boyfriend is turning, you'll end up getting good results. you'll be nervous until you first do it, but after you do it, you'll improve and your fear will be gone. let your boyfriend know that you're a little nervous, and if you happen to mess up, laugh about it, don't get embarrassed.

This is like.. embarrassing..
So, when I shave down there.. afterward it always looks irritated. There are like little red bumps, and sometimes they hurt. Sometimes though when I shave, like I don't even know what happens, it starts like bleeding little red dots. I even have scars.. Is there something wrong? Like, I want it to stop, haha. It's embarrassing, there's always like little red scabs and if I shave over them they start to bleed and it just makes my vagina look disgusting. This only happens on the surface of my vagina and a little like around it on my thighs almost. It doesn't happen underneath though? Has this ever happened to anyone else? first off, you make being 15 and not having sex sound like a bad thing. it's not, and don't let anyone else tell you that it is. second, I would not worry about the bumps, because sometimes shaving too fast or in the wrong direction can cause these types of problems. try a moisturizing shaving cream. sooner or later, the bumps will go away.
