I am a freshman at PHN high school. I play volleyball and soccer. I like to go to chruch and just hang out with my friends. I absolutly love music and poetry!!

I need to know some colleges CLOSE to New Jersey, New York..That area.. That you can get into without Straight A's

I was just wondering, I'm only a freshman, and I'm only 14 but I already have an idea of 3 colleges I want to go to, UNC chapel hill, Appalachian State, or Meredith. I was wondering, I know I have to get super good grades to get scholarships and stuff, but how do I go about getting them, and what scholarships are available, or where I can get information on how to get a scholarship. I want to start working towards getting better grades now so I can prepare for my future. If it makes any difference I want to be a teacher.
If this is confusing then sorry, I pretty much just want information on scholarships grade wise, I live in NC, but I don't think that matters. Thanks in advance.

Well you might want to start with talking to your school counceler. And also try www.fastweb.com, there you answer a series of questions and they give you scholarships that are right for you. You can also find the college that is right for you. It is a really awesome website. I am also only a freshman and considering going to Chapel Hill. Anyway...yes...you need to get your grades up...that will help you get a lot of scholarships!!!! Hope I helped!!!

i really like this guy. we kissed at my skools fall festival. then he moved away and im so sad itwas awhile ago and now im really sad that im never going to see him again. i really want to but i no its not going to happen what can i do to try not to get so upset any more over this

Well I know that the only thing that can heal this is time and your girlfriends. Go to see a movie or to the mall. I know that right now he seems that he is the "perfect guy" your "one true love" or whatever, but there are so many guys out there. Just look forward to many more kisses and many more guys!!! Ok I have fallen hard for one of my guy friends and i've liked him as more than a friend since January or something. Ok, now he has a girlfriend, but on the day he asked her out he told me that he really only liked her as a friend, and this girl's friend kind of made him feel like this girl would be crushed if he didn't ask her out, so he did. And tht was a few weeks ago. And last week, he kept looking at me and paying attention to me a whole lot more than his girlfriend and flirting and such, and this week he's hanging around with her again, and he still glances at me, but it's like we're just friends again... I'm so confused and I don't know what to do... any help will be greatly appreciated, THANKS!

I have been in this situation before. He may be unsure if going out with you, becuase you guys are friends. Once you go out with somone who is your friend, things are always going to be different. Me and my friend went out a year ago and things are still not the same. I can understand why you have fallen so hard. Think about it, he is your friend, and you like him a lot...so he would automatically include the things that you would like a good boyfriend to have. Right? I have a big problem with my hair - I love the length of it, it comes down to the middle of my back, but it is very very thick. Not only is it very thick but it has a tendency to become frizzy after washing. My hair is naturally wavy, but when I brush through it the frizz gets worse.
Can anybody help me keep it under control?

Frizz-ease hair serum works awesome!!! You put it in right when you get out of the shower and then you can let it air dry of blow dry it...it doesn't matter! Hope I helped!!!

hey, i just hooked up with my xboyfriend again, and this kid at school who i used to like got really mad at me and stopped talking to me beause i always complained about my xboyfriend and now im going out with him, but thats beside the fact, anyway i broke up with the kid i just went out with after like 15 minutes because we got into a huge fight over his dead brother because yesterday was supposed to be his birthday and well its a long story but anyway was it dumb of me to go out with him in the first place? how should i get the kid i like to not be mad at me anymore?

Usually the reason that you break up is becasue things weren't meant to be. There was obviously a reason why you guys broke up in the first place. Also if you are arguing within 15 minutes, then you are probably not right for each other. Hope I helped!!

There's this guy I know, who I haven't really been friends with since I've known him. I don't NOT like him, but he went through a phase of punching me whenever he saw me, mocking my voice, and telling me to shut up a short while ago. However, he has stopped that and is being very nice to me.
A friend of mine has said that he thinks im hot, and quite a few people I know seem to think that this guy likes me.
I recently gave him my number and since then he has called me every day, sometimes more than once. I met him once and he was very friendly, but kept being very close to me.
I have no problem with this, having liked him for a short while now, but it has left me confused about his feelings for me.
Any clues? Its driving me mad...

At the point when he was mocking you and telling you to shut up he was probably immature and didn't know how to show you that he liked you. I would say that if you like him, give it a shot. BUT VERY IMPORTANT, if he starts to tell you to shut up and any of that, then you have to call it off right away!!! Don't let things get out of control. Hope I Helped!

i straighten my hair just about every day and its starting to get pretty damamaged. my hair is thin and wavy, and 4-6 inches past shoulder length. please let me know if you have any suggestions! thanks!!!

I straighten mine too! The best thing I found is to use leave in conditioner that protects against heat styling. Also, try not touch your hair a lot during the day, becuase then you can wear it down without having to straighten it. Washing your hair everyday isn't good for it anyway.

me and my family are fighting alot lately.. I have a really bad attitude! and I need help! please give me advice! FAST! I'll try anything!

Okay, I know what its like. You get really defensive, and you feel like you have to hold your own. Well here's the things, the calmer you are, the better thigns will be. When a fight breaks out, try and calmly explain your side of the story, or how you feel. If you feel yourself starting to get an attitude...just say that you need time and you'll be back when you are calm enough to talk things over

ughhh, ok, this girl likes meeeee and i like herrrrr, BUT, she has a boyfriend -.- and he's a grade lower than i am, she's 2 below me, and she's white...he's...black...so it's safe to say they've come from differen't worlds, differen't upbringings, different ways of thinking. All they've done is kiss, lol, nothing serious, they're not fuckin' or nothin, but mannnnn she likes him a lot i think. And i KNOW he likes her just as much, if not more, she's GORGEOUS, but...before she started dating him she had a HUGE crush on me, and she JUST now told me. -.- dammit. haha, and i just got dumped a week and 2 days ago...HARD 2, man, it sucked. Like...when i'm able to hang out with this girl, we get um..."close", hehe, but she feels SO guilty. Her bf doesn't give her that kind of attention...so she loves it when i'm affectionate. UGH, anywayyys, this girl and her bf have only been together a month, a week, and 2 days, yeah...i've been counting...haha it's going by SLOW, but that's not much time at ALL, practically NOTHING. so they don't really have much more than an "at school" relationship. I need her to see it's a dead end...what can i do to swing things in my favor??

Well first off you shouldn't be race in as a factor in why that shouldn't go it. If you really like this girl you have to let her go and see if she comes back, but doing things with her while she has a boyfriend is wrong. Let's say that eventually you two do go out, then how would you feel if she was doing that to you...Just let things be, if it is supposed to happen it will happen!!!

i have figured out what i have gotten for my other teachers except of science. but we took a final that empacted on our report card grade. but i am not sure if i did well on the test. what should i do to calm myself down?

I have this same problem! But you can't let it get to you. Let's say that you don't do well on the test, yes it is a bummer, but it isn't your last test. And by worrying about it, your test grade isn't going to go up any. Just relax!!!

Me and my brother are very close hes always there for me and I am always here for him..I am 15 and he is 20 and he just got this new girlfriend and we got along for a while but We ended up fighting and I beat her ass and my brother chose her over me...I told her i didnt want to fight her cause she is my girl but she pushed me and I poured my heart out to my brother asking him how can he choose her over me..Well he lives here and his gf is here everyday me nad her are cool now but I dont feel close to my brother like i did before I dont htink I ever can again. He always told me I was his world. and now this girl is comming between us. What should I do? I dont think i should just forgive him..he rreally hurt me I was in tears for hours the rest of the night and now he is acting like nothing even happend..Should I just say fuck him or forgive him? How can she come between me and my brother?!

Well you did say that you didn't want to fight her, but it looks like you let your pride get the best of you. You put him in a very difficult position. I hope that one day he will see that family should come before anything else. But right now you have to remember that he is hurt that you fought with her, and he probably just trying to forget about what happened. I think that you should forgive him but also let him forgive you
