how do i get in shape for track & field/cross country?
i know i should run, but for how long or what distance?
i'd prefer to know how long though, because i'm never allowed anywhere by myself and i hate when people i know watch me excercise.
usually i run/jog in place with my knees high for about ten minutes. is that an okay time? or should i make it longer? (link)

for cross country, i would suggest running at longer distances, such as starting at a mile, and as times goes by work up. you should also try and do some sprint workouts, because at the end of the race you pick up your pace a lot.
and just like with the high knees, you should build up with the time.

My hair is currently armpit length..but i'm thinking of cutting it chin-length.
It gets oily really fast..like i'll wash it in the morning, and by the end of the day, my bangs and roots are gross.
I know it gets oily from my scalp because it's producing a lot of oils
So i'm wondering, is it logical to think that because my hair is kind of long, it is getting weighed down and being pressed on to my scalp more, causing it to get oily faster?
And that if I cut it short..will it be lighter and my hair won't get oily so fast ?

i also have natuarallly oily hair. My hairs a lil longer than armpit length. Im not sure about length affecting how oily it is, but if you want a good shampoo to use to help it, i use one called "teetree". it works really well the first time you use it. plus it smells good. =) hope i helpedd!

14/f i start high school in august. i wanna try out for the freshman soccer team, so what do i need to work on and what do i need to be able to do by the time tryouts begin? how long is the usual soccer practice, and what do you have to do? how many miles would a girls' freshman team have to run each day?

hey. i play soccer for my high school. Each team and coach have different expectations.
for my school, we run about 20 minutes each practice, but for milage we usually do like, a ladder type thing, 1/2 mile, 3/4, then a full, then go back down.
our coach also likes us to wickedly be in shape, so we do a lot of callastetics. (push ups, sit ups, ect.)
then of course there are drills, like dribbleing skills and such.
but like i said, every team expects different things. your best bet is to be in really good shape though =)

ah.so its that time of the month ..
and i have the worst cramps ever.
and i feel so like, bloated and puffy.
and huge haha.
but, none of any of my other periods have been like this?
i have SOME cramps, but not as many as i do now.
and i never feel bloated.
until now?
is this normal? i never feel like this on my period.

this is normal. When i have really bad cramps, running seems to help me. Also drink a lot of water. Hope i helped =)

i have been thinking about joining a sports team at my school but the year is almost over so i wanna start next year teh problem is i have no sport experience. i am fast but have low endurance and i am pretty tall for my age (female)15(freshmen now)
my question is what sport should i do next year and how do i get ready so i can be on the team and is experience Necessary to be on a team

i would suggest track and feild. they have short distance races, so if your fast, but don't want to run a lot, that would be my suggestion. Also, they have feild events that you could also try. Who knows, maybe you'll do good at that.

Try to talk to her about it. Tell her you think you like her, but don't want to ruin your relationship as best friends. See what she thinks about this.

i agree with everyone. Whats meant to be will always find its way. I'm also in a similar situation. I also like someone, and rumor has it he likes me also. At one point, he actually admitted it, but also said he was shy to say it.
Ever since then, we've been talking alot, and also hanging out a lot.
Just let whatever happen, happen. If you eventually feel more confident to start talking about 'asking him out', or dating, go for it ! =] But don't try to rush into anything your not ready for, and don't let friends pressure you into doing it. Wait until your comforable, then go for it.
