about

I'm a med student, so health related questions I can usually answer pretty well. I also like to think I'm somewhat decent at giving advice. I can also give you an honest opinion.

"I love waking up in the morning not knowing what's gonna happen or, who I'm gonna meet, or where I'm gonna wind up. I figure life's a gift and I don't intend on wasting it. You don't know what hand you're gonna get dealt next."

"I believe in colors. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner.I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."

Hi!
I just bought an under armour sweatshirt the other day and I also read (after I bought it) that girls don't like it? Is that just with the creepy tight pants that they sell or does it go for the sweatshirts too?

You might be thinking of guys wearing underarmour spandex. I'm a girl and I love underarmour hoodies, in fact I steal my boyfriends all the time hah

im about to turn 14 years old and enter into high school. i want to enter high school as a "popular" person. but it seems that only really good looking people are popular. I have big eye lashes blonde medium size hair and a flawless face and I'm a cheerleader . but im short and people dont take me serious. and I guessed by being prettier than them I would be more liked. I need tips on how to do my make up like a pretty cheerleader!

Looks don't get you popularity, personality does. Even if looks do get you populariy it will be for all the wrong reasons and those shallow people who like you for your looks will screw you over in the long run. Don't worry so much about your appearence but how you present yourself and get along with people.

Why do people say i look asian when im not? I'm mexican and i don't see how i look asian. It really pisses me off when someone tells me i look filipino or something and it really lowers my self- esteem. Please helpp.

Why does being filipino or asian lower your self esteem? All the asians I know are gorgeous.

I'm supposed to go snowboarding this Sunday in Pennsylvania. I've never been, so what should I wear?

I have an old snowmobiling jacket. Should I wear that or just stick to my Northface?

Wool, or layers of socks, waterproof snowpants, lootss of layers underneath (you can always take them off if you get hot), waterproof jacket, waterproof gloves, a helmet, hat or both, and I always have to have a hanky to keep my face warm. I don't know what kind of northface you have but if you're talking about the fleece I wouldn't wear it because if its your first time it will get covered in snow and isn't waterproof. Good luck!

i have a very light skin color (pretty much white) but I'm Mexican. My eyes are green with a golden-like circle around my pupil. My current hair color is deep cherry red (it looks like a brown with a red tint) i'm ready for another color though. what color should i dye it? no highlights, no black, and no blond please.

It's kinda hard without a picture but since you don't wanna do blonde or black how about a shade of brown? I think dark brown would look better on you.

I was thinking about tanning over the winter. I have never been before, I was wondering what to expect, what levels I should use, what I should wear, how often I should go and stuff about costs, etc.

I'm already dark skinned, a bit.
Thanks!

Well no one actually answered your question so if you really want to know about it there's usually a few levels (depends where you go) usually it's 1, 2, and 3 (sometimes 4 and 5). If you're somewhat dark-skinned i would start off with 2 or 3 then gradually move up in levels if you want to. It's hard to tell what level because people have different definitions of "dark skinned" (the people that work there will suggest a level for your skin better than I can). Don't wear any clothes obviously except maybe underwear because sunburn down there hurts alot. Buy tanning lotion at the salon only (lotions from walmart and CVS will crack the beds and then they'll make you pay for them). When I went I went twice a week for a month which gave me a nice tan. The people working there will tell you alot more about it so you know what's going on.

BUT, I'd advise you not to go, or at least only go for a special occasion. It's expensive, dangerous and addicting if you start to get into it just to do it.

Do most guys like belly button rings? im 17 and i want a belly button ring but one of my guy friends said theyre trashy. im still getting it, i just want opinions haha. Thankss =]

i agree with everyone when they say if you wear like huge rings and make them stick out of your shirt it looks trashy, but other than that they're cutee, i have one and most guys i've talked to like it. as long as you only show it off when you're wearing like a bathing suit or something in the summer it looks good.

So I want to do something new to my hair and I'm thinking of getting a body spiral perm to look like Taylor Swifts hair. (Yes, I know it is naturally that way) But I have asked everybody about getting one and some say 'Sure, you would look good with curly hair!" Then same say 'NO! Bad idea, It damages your hair!" And my head is just spinning with confusion on what to do. Can I get someone who knows a lot about perms (like a hair stylist) to help me out. You dont have to be but I would much like that. Thank you so much!

my friend got a perm for prom and she said she hated it. when she got it her hair smelt awful and she said it was always so frizzy and like everyday she would tell me that she can't wait for it to go back to her normal hair. i guess it depends on what your natural hair is like though.

Ok so I am going to have my braces off soon. Can anyone tell me what wearing a retainer is like? Do you have any tips to makes it the best possible experience?

Thank you!

which retainer are you getting? i have the clear one that looks like invisilign. its really not that bad, when you first put it in it might feel a little tight but no pain or discomfort or anything. its annoying to keep taking out and putting back in but its soo much better than braces. wear it or else your teeth will shift and all the money on braces will be wasted. there's not much to it.

is there any legit lip plumping products out there? i have a lip gloss from nyc, but it doesnt seem to do ANYTHING at all. i know that nothing will completlely make your lips look fuller, but is there any lipglosses or anything that will help?

i used to have lip plumper from victorias secret and it made my lips huugge. i forget what the name of it was but i'm pretty sure they only have one or two kinds.

16 Female

All my life, I've had straight / wavy hair (never "curly"). Because I love wearing my hair straight as opposed to wavy, I always blowdry / airdry and flat iron it, but I realize this can cause damage to my hair. (I do occasionally put products in my hair to make it look good wavy, which is a different question.)

I read in Seventeen magazine that the supposed Best Straightener is Pantenne Pro-V Style Extra Straight Comb-in Cream. Because I have naturally straight-ish hair, if i were to buy and use this product, would it be necessary for me to flat iron or would it just make my hair less wavy? I like the smooth, sleek look that I get with flat ironing, so will I get that with this product?

i've never tried that before but if you wanna give it a try it won't hurt anything. i know theres sprays out there that you put in your hair before blowdrying/straightening/curling your hair and it keeps it from damaging it. i use dove moisture therapy replenishing mist...it does a pretty good job of keeping hair nice.

i really want a cartilage piercing but im really scared of a couple things ...
1. does it hurt when they put the needle through??
and does it hurt ALOT after wards
2. does it get caught in your hair or clothes?
3. how long does it take to heal and how long b4 i can change it ..some ppl say it take 1 year to fully heal is that true?

thankss in advance :)
julia

1. it hurts more if they do it with a gun, so get it done with a needle (you probably would have to go to a tattoo shop)..it hurts a little more than an earlobe piercing because its cartlidge but its not too bad. it doesn't really hurt afterwards but if you sleep on it, it will hurt in the morning. so try not to sleep on it.
2. just like any other piercing it could get caught on your hair of clothes but it hasn't really been a problem for me, just be careful.
3. i changed it after 3 months and it was fine. but yeah it probably takes 6 mos-yr to be fully healed so you can change it before then but make sure you leave something in because it will close easily.

Can I have all of your opinions on this dress for prom? Ideally, it would be in either royal blue, or the platinum, which is pictured.

http://www.bghaute.com/style_details.php?product_id=741

aw thats such a pretty dress, i definetly like it. i'd say the royal blue if you're blonde and the platinum if you're brunette or red-head. have fun at prom :)

i need foundation that has good coverage. i have a bit of acne and i can never seem to hide it. right now i use maybellene mineral power liquid makeup and the concealer. i like the way it isn't thick and cakey, but i feel like it doesn't have enough coverage. what is a good kind i can get at a drugstore (no really expensive ones) that has good long lasting coverage, and is oil free?

i use a kind called maybeline pure makeup..it says shine free foundation with H2O and its oil free. its pretty good at hiding things and unlike other liquid makeups it won't clog pores.

so i have gym class right now,
and it's winter, so my legs are realllly reallly white :[
is there any tanning lotion or anything i can put on the that doesn't look too fake to make them look tanner in shorts?

try jergens natural glow, i heard it was good. but make sure you get the right shade or else is will look fake and streaky. you can also just take the easy way out and wear sweatpants or something. don't stress about it too much though..it's winter so pretty much everyone is white.

you could braid your hair overnight, but make sure the braids aren't too tight and when you un-do your hair in the morning it will look like that.

My eyes are hugeee.
I mean they aren't like bug eyes, but they're pretty darn close.
So I can never really find a color that works.
I wear pretty purple eyeliner because black looks really heavy on me and my eyes are so dark that they're almost black so it doesn't really look the best. Any color ideas would help a ton.
:)
Thanks!

haha hey, my eyes are pretty huge too.
since you said black looks too heavy you can try brown or maybe soft black, and it will look good, just not as heavy.

what can i do to make my damaged hair healthier.

how could i get wavy hair like this
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j212/aprettygurl/m_4460b1b0c9fdb36af9a11155a5de179e.jpg

alot of different things work and don't work depending on your hair type. you can try towel drying your hair after a shower then put your hair in a messy bun and hair spray it then take it out the next morning and you'll get waves like that, it looks pretty good =)
