advice

I'm a freshman and i'm going to homecoming for my school and i'm soooo excited. My friends and i were gonna go dress shoppin n everything together. but like my mom wants me to get a dress at Good will! some girl was makin fun of her friend for gettin a dress at good will! n i wanna go shoppin with them and get a nice dress. but my family is kinda poor. what do i do?
i rate 5's

Good Will CAN have plenty of potentially-cute dresses. There's NO reason to feel embarassed, plus, no girl's gonna KNOW you got your dress from there, and even if they do, if they're TRULY your friend, they'll tell ya you look ah-mazing!

Also, lots of stores in the mall have gorgeous dresses for inexpensive prices. The big department stores, I mean. Like, Penney's or Strawbridge's, Macy's, etc.

Since you'e a freshman, see if you can maybe get a nightly-babysitting job to earn some money for your dress. PLUS, your parents will be proud of you for taking a stand & being responsible AND you can buy a fabulous, fashionable dress. If you choose this option, you make out in every way possible!!

hey i have light brown hair and i just cut it ..it was down to the middle of my back and now its at my shoulders(i wanted a change) i was wondering what hair styles i can do to make my hair look "hot" by the way im 13 and i have thick hair

I suggest spiraling your hair. It's fun, it's happening, it's unique, and it's AH-DORABLE! You can get a sprial curler @ Claire's or After Thoughts. Or use different things like 'rag rollers'. Start at one end of the curler (usually bottom) and rap a 1-2 inch section of hair around it, (from top to bottom), like a candy can. Rap tightly for tight, bouncy spirals. For a loose, classic curl, don't hold it too tight.

I have pinch straight hair and not thin or thick. Whenever I try scrunching my hair it never works. Do you know anything I could do to make it work?? THANKS

Okay, you're most likely using gel, so I recommend using V05 curl mousse or any other type of curl mousse. Also, for such STRAIGHT hair, sometimes scrunching by hand just isn't gonna have a result. So, I would buy a diffuser if I were you. A diffuser is a simple blow-dryer attachment that scrunches hair. For a less expensive one, try Target or K-Mart or a drug store/pharmacy (like Rite Aid or Eckerd).

What's the best kind of straightens your hair? I mean, like STICK STRAIGHT. And how could you do tiny spirals? I have a spiral, and if anyone can give me instructions. Thanks.

I recommend the Remington Wet-2-Straight straigtener. I use it on my hair & its awesomeee. My friend has one of those spiral curlers with a few different attachments (You can probably find them @ Claire's or After Thoughts). What you do is take the spiral curler and take a 1-inch section of hair. Start at the bottom of the curler and just wrap it around like a candy cane. Hold it on there, TIGHTER for Shirley-Temple curls, LOOSER for a classic curl.

**Good luckk & plz rate mee!! thx !

Hey everyone!!
well I know that school is approaching really soon (as much as we all don't want summer to end... we have to face reality) and I wanted some advice on what you guys think is a perfect 1st day of school outfit. I've been debating w. myself and I really don't know if i should go really casual or wear something semi- cute. I'd really appreciate a couple of cute ideas 4 outfits. Thnx so0oo much in advance. Xo>

My personal favorite back-to-school outfit is casual & cute. I like to stick with a skirt (maybee even a mini...-smiles-) and maybe a tank top. I like a fun hairstyle like scrunched or spiraled. Pinks & browns are nice colors for clothes because they're girly, yet the brown kinda mellows it out. Try www.seventeen.com or www.ELLEgirl.com to take quizzes about your OWN personal style & to get some great back-to-school tips & fashion/trends.

what product is good for scrunching hair? and when and how do i do it

V05 Curl mousse, L.A. Looks hair gel, or any other gel that you can find that squeezes out of a bottle.

Scrunching hair is simple. Just wet your head in the sink, and begin to towel-dry it. You don't want it to be dripping or soaking, just damp. You can either use a diffuser, which is a blow-dryer attachment to scrunch your hair, OR you can do it by hand in a few easy steps.
1. Squeeze some gel/mousse into your hand.
2. Rub both hands together so you have
the gel/mousse all over both hands.
(make sure its a layer, not just
lightly painted on there.)
3. Start at the bottom of your hair,
gather a 2 or 3 inch section and push
it up to the top of your head & squeeze
4. Repeat steps 1-3 till your entire head
is scrunched, then blow dry. (sometimes
it's best if you blow-dry it on low)

-***Do this && You'll look GORRRRGEOUS!

i would really like to become a fashion designer

ive already made some clothes... i just need a way to advertise them.. like get people to know my clothes are out there

for the school talent show i wanted to do a mini fashion show but we have a time limit... 2 minutes

if someone has any ideas please tell me!
i rate 5s!

It's extremely difficult to get your designs out there at such a young age. But don't let it discourage you, if you really have a talent, you really have potential. Start out by maybe making some cute flyers and including examples of your clothing on the page. Post them around school & include your phone # for people to call you.

Also, maybe make a website. An average domain costs about $15 a year. Have you thought of a name? You could make it www."design-name-here".com. Or even try www.freewebs.com for a FREE website.

I DEFINITELY suggest that you do the talent show. Designing is a MAJOR talent. You can be the announcer & come out at the end & ask your friends to model for you. It would be a lot of fun for you guys PLUS an excellent advertising opportunity. Make sure to include in your speech that you will make & sell clothes for anyone. :)

***GOOD LUCK && HAVE FUN @ THE TALENT SHOW!!

im SUCH a girly girl! so wut should i wear the first day of school (september 6th)? i know you dont know whats in my closet so i wont give u like a 3- if i dont have it!! but what are you wearing, what would be cute/in. im going to straighten my hair. and im pretty sure i want to wear a skirt. thanks

I'm a girly-girl too, so you're getting advice from the best. Haha. Maybe a mini skirt and a halter that brings out your eyes. And a charm bracelet. Straightening hair is always cute, but scrunching is also nice for a new look. Try V05 curl mousse, trust me, it works like a CHARM to scrunch your hair. Also, even a cute pair of denim capris and a short-sleeve or sleeve-less top is ah-dorable. Also, for the first day, a few last-minute tips are, make sure to chew on a mint before you head for school, gloss your lips real quick, and finally, maybe apply a little eye-liner or blush (depending on your skin tone) and you'll look FAB*U*LOUS !!! ♥

Okay I absolutely love wavy hair and i've been trying to get my hair to be wavy the problem is i cant scrunch it or anything cuz i have curly hair so it doesnt work it just goes into curls which yeah im sure some ppl want but I dont!! I want waves..lol anyone got any tips?? I heard maybe if I got a body wave it would take out some curl and put some wave in anyone think that would work or better yet know it would? thanx everyone -ashley

Okay, first thing's first, you're going to need to straighten your hair. For that, you can try a flat-iron hair straightener OR I know that Neutrogena & Garnier have a new hair-straightening product that you can try! Next, you can use a crimper for a wavy look, or put your straightened hair in braids before you go to bed & take them out the next morning. Also, some straighteners (for example, a Conair) have different attachments. Some for wavy, crimped, etc. Claire's or After Thoughts would most likely sell these. Good luck && happy hair styling!!

my dad says that i can not get a straightner because it will ruin my hair and i will have disgusting hair when i get older and its just really bad for my hair. hes like "you can get the same effect by blow drying it" but i know that you cant because he has this picture in his mind of when i blow dried my hair a certain way once and it was SOOOOO puffy and ugly so i just put it up. and thats what hes thinking of! im like "no dad thats not it! my hair looks soo much different and better when its straightend! it is my hair and ill pay for it with my own money" he just gave me a look like he mite consider it. but i dont know, how can i he sure?

Okay, I straighten my hair A LOT, BUT your dad IS right. Straighteners not only straighten, but they suck all the moisture & oils out of your hair, and a couple years from now, your hair will be dried out. BUT, straightening your hair occasionally won't really do a great deal of damage. Explain that to your dad, but don't be stubborn and say "its my hair! its my money!" cause that typically leads to a no. Say that you're mature enough to pay for it and you understand the potential damage that could go on towards your hair & that you ALSO won't do it EXTREMELY frequently.

I really wanna scrunch my hair

i have thin straight hair

Is there any possible way i can scrunch it

If So HOW?? and What can i use??

Thanks♥

Scrunching hair....piece-a-cake!
Some of my friends use a diffuser (which is an attachment to your blow-dryer) that you can find at any RiteAid. =D Also, I suggest using different products like V05 Curl Mousse for a REALLY scrunched look, or L.A. Looks Gel for a wavy-scrunched look. Have fun!!! xo

i really want to scrunch my hair and i have tried alot before. i always used gel and scrunch it after the shower, but it never curls good at the top.

my hair is long((almost to my belt)) and thick.

any good tips?

Okay, scrunching hair is something I LOVE to do. :) haha. First of all, it's sometimes useful if your hair isn't soaking, but 'damp.' Take a shower one night, don't dry it, pull it in a pony tail, and the next morning, since your hair is soo thick, it shouldn't be too dry, but damp. If it's dry on the outer layer, spritz it a bit with a spray bottle. I suggest you use V05 curl mousse. My friend's hair looks ah-mazing when she uses it! I use L.A. Looks gel to scrunch mine, and my hair is incredibly thick too. Good luck!! :)

i think i am going to go trick or treating with my friends so what is a good group costume idea?? or any good individuals if you feel like it too. funny ones, pretty ones, but not like famous ppl or common things-cheerleaders, opposite sex, devil, cat, angel, fairy, etc

thank you

My friends and I are actually thinking the SAME thing!! Here are some suggestions:
*Who did it?: Like a "CLUE" mystery! Someone can be the detective, then the common suspects (the maid, butler, etc.)

*Oldies: Bring the old times back! Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, Natalie Wood, you get the point, lol.

*Some cute individual costume ideas: Fifties waitress, pink lady, hula girl.
