Okay, first thing's first, you're going to need to straighten your hair. For that, you can try a flat-iron hair straightener OR I know that Neutrogena & Garnier have a new hair-straightening product that you can try! Next, you can use a crimper for a wavy look, or put your straightened hair in braids before you go to bed & take them out the next morning. Also, some straighteners (for example, a Conair) have different attachments. Some for wavy, crimped, etc. Claire's or After Thoughts would most likely sell these. Good luck && happy hair styling!!

Try using Lorel products, preferably their mousses. Instead of actually scrunching it, just run your fingers through it with the mousse, or gel if you prefer. That normally straightens out the hair a little bit. So if you do that, and keep adding a little bit of mousse or gel to it as you do it, you should get your hair to be wavy instead of curly.

I would KILL for really curly hair though. You're lucky.

Something i know would work because my girlfriend was REALLY curly hair and she straightens it quite a bit is take a straightener and go over real fast and like 1 or 2 strokes... it'll take some of the curl out but not burn the hair enough to make it straight... or just go down to the barber shop and ask for it to be wavy :-p Hope this helps. Good luck
