"Ah, I'm so happy I found your question! Well, I have extremely unmanagable hair as well but I've learned to tame it with a straightening iron. Japenese straightening runs about $1500-3000 so unless you have some money racked up in the bank, I don't reccomend it. Other chemical straightening systems (true, there is one for about $75) don't exactly straighten, they just tame it a bit but dry it out drastically. I reccomend splurging on a $100 straightening iron. They work great (trust me, if it works on my hair, it'll work on yours!)"

Where could I get one?

Sally's Beauty Supply has some GREAT ones. Sometimes they're on sale too & they work miracles. Good luck! Check www.sallybeauty.com

My hair is unmanagable.
Even when I straigten it, it is all frizzy and poofy. Its so frustrating.
I hate it.
I heard on advicenators someone telling someone else you can get your hair permanantly straightened in a salon for like 75 bucks. I don't want to get in Japanese straightened because it costs a lot of money. If I get it done at a salon for 75 bucks, how long will it last?
Does it really work?

any ideas for types of pony tails? and how to do it? or just any type of really easy and quick hair-dos for school :]
my hair is getting boring.. :[

peaceandlove.

Try putting your hair in a ponytail, then wrapping a piece around the band so you can't see it. It creates quite a nifty look. Or you could take a chunk of hair (where your bangs would be if you had them, if you don't this'll still work) and twist them up to create an eightie "poof" and then put the rest in a ponytail. It's basically the standard rockstar ponytail. Try 2 ponytails and wrap hair around the bands like in the first ponytail suggestion I gave you. Have fun with it & if you need anymore help, just ask. ♥

I have a few hair questions:
1. When going to the stylist do you usually cut your hair first THEN dye it or vice versa?
2. If the total is around $70, how much should I tip?
3. I've had highlights before, but about how long does it take to DYE your hair?
4. Do you think ANY girl could pull of side swept bangs?
5. If im dying my hair a medium/dark brown (when i have blonde/goldish hair), is it still possible my gold tones can still show through? If so, how do I make sure they dont?
Thanks!

Well my dad's a hairdresser so I'm JUST the girl to help you =]

1. It all depends on the stylist. There's really no right or wrong way to do it.
2. For about $70, I would tip about $15
3. It all depends on the length. Previous dyes won't reflect on the time, rather the overall color that you end up with. It also depends on how much color/what kind the stylist is using.
4. Yes. Some people say the style looks good if you have a longer face or noticable cheekbones but I think ANY girl could pull it off & look fabulous!
5. Well, when you have light hair & dye it dark, it picks up the color REALLY well. You really shouldn't have to worry about old color showing through.

Good luck!

I was wondering...what stores sell good sunglasses for teens at good prices. If you could tell me the price ranges that would be really helpful too. Thanks!

Here are the stores I buy my glasses at:

Pac Sun
Hot Topic
Claires

Price range is anywhere for $8-$20. Also if you go a mall, there are little sunglass stands. They sell inexpensive glasses, like 2 for $20 sometimes. They're trendy & cute! Good luck!

What are different ways to style sidesweeping bangs? Im getting them tomorrow - should I cut them to the bottom of my ear? Cheekbone? Longer?

Well, I would cut them about at your cheekbone because that's where mine are. The main way to style sideswept bangs is to have a side part & have them straightened to the side. That's pretty much the cutest way. Or you could play around with the parts, try a center part if you want. Good luck!

I DONT KNO WHAT TO DO.... i dont have a shirt to match my jeans! help.... what color looks best with jeans... FASHION IS EVERYTHING!

Jeans look pretty good with any color. Try to coordinate your fashion with your mood. For example, if you're feeling happy/anxious, try wearing a vibrant/bold color like red or hot pink.

okay the problem is when i sweat and stuff my hair gets REALLY frizzy, almost like in the movies when someone gets elecricuted! it sticks up everywhere, and everyone else has perfect hair lying flat on their head while dripping with sweat, and even the slightest bit of sweat and i turn into a puff ball or something! i have soccer tryouts tonight at 4-6 and the rest of the week, and then i have a soccer tournament saturday and sunday, does anyone have some ideas on how i can tame my hair so i dont look like i've been elctricuted while i'm playing soccer?! pleeeeeease help, this has been happening forever and i am sick of it. i rate 5's for answers that arent stupid or unhelpful. ♥

Try John Frieda's Frizz-Ease! It works like a CHARM && locks moisture out. You can also use gel & scrunch your hair so it looks curly. Your hair won't frizz if you do that. If you go to Walgreens or a place similar, they have a WHOLE section of hair serums that will keep your hair FRIZZ FREE! =)

hey i have pretty straight hair. How do I make it wavy like you see in magazines????
thanks

You have a few options:

1. When your hair is wet, scrunch gel in it. It will look crispy but it's great for "on-the-go" waves.

2. If you wear your hair in braids (with hairspray in them) for about 24 hours, take them out & then re-spritz hair spray, your hair will stay like that.

3. Buy an inexpensive curling iron & make soft curls. Your hair will wave slightly & it'll look very cute!

I was just wondering if anyone has used the Remington Straightner, the one that straightens wet hair. If so,does it actually work? Is there mcuh damage? Is 25-30 dollars a good price for it? I think I'll be getting the 2 inch one since my hair is longer & it is only 5 dollars more. And how straight does your hair get? Thanks in advance! i rate

I use a similar straightener that straightens wet hair & yes, like any straightener it does tend to dry your hair out. That's about the same price as mine & yes, they are VERY effective. I reccomend waiting till your hair is "damp" instead of "soaking wet" because it'll straighten faster. To keep your hair healthy, make sure you get a "leave-in" conditioner that will moisturize. Also, I reccomend getting Garnier Fructis (sp?) Sleek & Shine products. They are all EXCELLENT!

me and my friend want to decorate our lockers to make them look really awesome but we want a bunch of ideas! anything girly and colorful attractive to the eye but no furry animal print any ideas or sites??? thanx bunches!!!

A really cool idea for a locker that'll make it look girl & colorful is to take a bunch of magazines like Teen Vogue & CosmoGirl & cut out random pictures of models, drawings or anything in there. Then make a colage (sp?) by gluing them overlapping slightly on a piece of paper. You can use it to cover one side of your locker or do each side. It's really fun & it'll add some spice!

ok i just bought Curling shampoo and i think most of you have seen the commercials...and well it said leave like 5 min and stuff like that so i followed all the direction but still i have no curls in my hair. is it just my hair or is the product just plain sucks?

and is there product that works? to curl my hair. other than perms and curling irons and hair rollers. i mean like curling hair spray ?? do they really work??

Curling products don't really work unless you get a perm which I don't reccomend because it really fries your hair. If you have really silky, straight hair then it will be harder for you to curl it. I have naturally curly hair & I really don't like it so let me say, you are one lucky girl!

Irons & rollers are the best ways. "Products" really aren't successful in changing hair texture. Gel, however, will give your hair a wavy, beach-like style if you scrunch it up. There are also shampoo's & conditioners to give your hair more volume & bounce but they don't really "curl".

okay, well i have a black dad and a white mom.. well i dont have white hair and i dont have black hair either.. but its frizzy. it looks REALLY pretty when its straightened, but when you dont put special stuff on it, it looks bad.. anyway, is there any special straightening stuff that you guys know of to put on my hair?

Well nothing will techincally straighten your hair just by putting it in but there are however some relaxers that will make it straight for a while so you won't have to put anything in it for a few months. Let me give you the categories.

Cheap Relaxer ($5)
Will straighten your hair but it all depends on what kind of hair you have. It can be really dangerous or really weak. Consult someone you know or a sales person about this.

At-Home Straightening System ($30)
Not as powerful as the others but will de-frizz your hair. Easy to do at home & available at places like Walgreens.

In-Salon Straightening System ($200)
A stronger version of the "at-home" one. It works well but you need professionals to do it. To get a complete dead straight look, you'll have to flat iron it still but it'll be way easier.

Yuko, Ionic, etc. (up to $1,500)
These work a miracle on your hair. They'll completely transform it into shiny, straight hair. They cost alot depending on hair length. This is something you might wanna save up for unless you've got alot of cash.

Hope I helped you! If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask me. ♥ Good luck!

I want to do this pageant, but I don't Know how to ask my mother and father. I've never really been into pageants, I've always been more into acting and singing. I think it would give me more self confidence. But now that I'm turning 15 I started to like all that pageant modeling stuff. I just dont know how to ask them and to let me go. Also what are some tips that I should know. I've never done this before. They also want to do an interview, so does anybody know what type of questions they ask? It said no past experience is necessary, but I would appreciate some tips and things to remember because I don't want to mess up. Also, Im a little self concience (sorry about the spelling!) I have bad eczema ( pronounced eggsema ) and It's always been an issue for me. Do you think that doing this pageant will give me more self confidence or make my self concienciousness ( again sorry about the spelling ) worse? Thank you!

Pageants are a great way to get involved! They make you more confident in front of audiences & a great overall person. Sounds like you, similar to me, come from an preforming background but are a bit self concious. It's totally normal & I believe pageants will bring you out of your shell. Talk to your parents are the pro's & con's of participating. Find one local & work out all the details before hand so they can see how much you want this. Parents like it when you go to the extra mile & have everything prepared. Interview questions can be anything from where you see yourself in 10 years to your opinion on worldy events. The best advice I can give you is to be yourself. Sounds cliche` but judges love it when you're natural & not trying to be something you're not. Good luck & I'm sure you'll do fabulous! ♥
