Hair questions

Question Posted Friday July 22 2005, 5:15 pm

I have a few hair questions:
1. When going to the stylist do you usually cut your hair first THEN dye it or vice versa?
2. If the total is around $70, how much should I tip?
3. I've had highlights before, but about how long does it take to DYE your hair?
4. Do you think ANY girl could pull of side swept bangs?
5. If im dying my hair a medium/dark brown (when i have blonde/goldish hair), is it still possible my gold tones can still show through? If so, how do I make sure they dont?
Thanks!

Cut your hair first so you can use less dye which is cheaper. If you are going to get your hair cut and dyed then it will be more. Dying it alone will cost 70 dollars. Depends were you go. When I tip about 5, 10 depending on if they were nice. Over al I would say about a hour and half. Anyone can pull off anything it is just a mater how you like to style it. Since your hair is lighter it will not show through.

1. i've always had my hair cut first...but every stylist is different
2. probably about 7-10 dollars
3. about 1-2 hours
4. no...only some girls can. you should ask your stylist if he/she thinks you would be able to pull it off
5. i doubt it because the dye is darker than your hair

i hope your hair turns out good! :D

ok heres what id say:

1. you dye it first and then you cut it
2. the tip obviously depends on how much you like your haircut.. if you dont like it so much around 10 or a little less ... but if you really do like it then id say anywhere from 15-25 but beyond thats a little much
3. ive had my hair dyed plenty of times lol and it depends on how long, thick or thin your hair is. with my thick hair it took a little less then an hour to do the whole color
4. i dont think ANY girl but most girls can. my advice from experiance was if you have thick hair bangs are not a good idea period!! they make your face look kinda square
5. ive never known then to show through until about a few weeks or longer later so dont worry

hope my advice helped (:

Well my dad's a hairdresser so I'm JUST the girl to help you =]

1. It all depends on the stylist. There's really no right or wrong way to do it.
2. For about $70, I would tip about $15
3. It all depends on the length. Previous dyes won't reflect on the time, rather the overall color that you end up with. It also depends on how much color/what kind the stylist is using.
4. Yes. Some people say the style looks good if you have a longer face or noticable cheekbones but I think ANY girl could pull it off & look fabulous!
5. Well, when you have light hair & dye it dark, it picks up the color REALLY well. You really shouldn't have to worry about old color showing through.

Good luck!
