I have a lot of unwanted bodily hair. I have long sideburns and dark arm hair, along with hair on my stomach above and below my bellybutton like men do. My bikini line is horrid. Shaving this hair causes discoloration and its so temporary. I try things like nair and veet but it doesnt work either. I know this is a family problem because my grandmother was extremely hairy, and my mother has a beard. I dont want to end up like them, but they don't sympathize with me on my body hair, because they grew up in a society where that was accepted, and somewhat favored over no bodily hair. I live in America and of course, hairy is ugly. I just want this hair to be less noticible, or to stop growing back in. I can't invest in expensive things because I don't have a job and my parents would probably make me send it back, because they want me to keep my hair. What can I do about this? (link)
Other than shaving, you could try plucking, waxing, or bleaching. I've never tried bleaching, but plucking and waxing aren't entirely uncomfortable.

i am 1.48m,i am 14 this year,how do i grow taller? (link)
Height is all genetics, so the only way to appear taller would be to wear clothing that accentuates height. Taller shoes, different styles of jeans, etc. can make you seem taller than you actually are.

i am 14 this year and i am still 1.48cm,what do i need to do,to grow taller? (link)
Well I'm thinking that the 1.48cm tall was a typo, or youre the shortest person in the world.
To be honest, there really isn't anything to help you grow taller. You could wear taller shoes to make yourself seem taller than you actually are. Just a suggestion. But keep yourself healthy and if you are supposed to get any taller you will over time.

I have sunburn on my face and my nose and cheeks are starting to peel. Ive been using Solarcaine to help the burn, but what would help it stop peeling? thanks (link)
I'd use a moisturizing lotion with aloe. Vaseline makes a great one, and you can find it at any pharmacy.

ok, well. I decided to shave down there. but like, everytime I do, I always get these red bumps. and it really hurts. but, I still wanna shave.. and like, recently i've had an infection. and like, it REALLY burns. and it's really annoying. I don't wanna tell my mom, like at all. please help? (link)
You're probably just getting razor burn. Try shaving in the direction that your hair grows to avoid ingrown hairs.. shave down instead of up.

female, 14.

a couple of days ago, i shaved down there. is there any harm to this? it's kind of red and bumpy. and i can't seem to get it so shaved, that it's soft. it's like stubby. how do i get it so it's soft?

oh, and when i go to the drs for a physical, and they look down there, would they say anything to me because i shave? (link)
It's perfectly fine to shave "down there". Just be sure to shave in the direction the hair grows, because you don't want painful ingrown hairs. It's going to be stubby if you shave, it would be smooth if you waxed but that would be pretty painful.

As for the doctor issue, your doctor won't say anything to you about shaving. It's up to you whether you shave or not, and I guarantee you that your doctor has had other women who shave too. It's no big deal. :]

so i went to the doctor today cause i had a really bad sore throat. they did a blood test on me and they said i have mono. I know what it is... but my question is

should i still go to school??

my cousin said his friend had mono and he had to stay out of school for a month!

another question is that I play volleyball... well we have a big tournament coming up and i'm the setter on our team. we have another setter, so that not the problem. the only problem is that i really really want to play.... should i still go to the tournament, but not play??
or should i just stay home?

thanks!

PS: if you have any other advice about mono, please tell!!! (link)
Well my cousin has mono, and she had to stay out of school for about a week. I guess it depends on how bad you have it, and how long you've had it for so you should ask your doctor. As for the tournament, I would also ask a doctor, but I would only play if you feel completely up to it. Mono can make you feel very tired so you should get proper rest. Don't push yourself. Get better soon!

is nair safe to use on your pubic hair?
if not does anyone know of any other kind of product like that? hair removal stuff i mean?

i HATE shaving down there and i got it waxed and it hurt too bad... (link)
I would not use nair on pubic hair because it is a sensitive area. I would stick to shaving if you really want the hair gone.

am i overweight? i'm 5'1 and i weigh 130. i'm athletic and i'm active, it's not like i just sit around -i love to run. i know those websites to look for for the appropriate weight for your height, but what if i'm not built tiny like other people that are 5'1? am i overweight or am i fine? (link)
It all depends on how much of your weight is muscle. Since muscle weighs more than fat, it is possible if you are very muscular that you may weight above average. The next time you go to the doctor, ask what your weight should be, taking into consideration how much of your weight is muscle.

Any good face mask "recipes" that I can do at home to get rid of zits and black heads and prevent break outs? Or any inexpensive products that work really well? (link)
Some good facial scrubs can be made with cornmeal and warm water, or baking soda and warm water.

Toothpaste will dry up zits, but too much will dry your skin all out.

There are more recipies; a good book to look at for them would be The Body Book, it's a Klutz book and it's by Ann Akers Johnson.

my arms are both fat and muscular and i want then to be skinnier. does anyone know any workouts or anything to help them get slimmer? thanks in advance. (link)
Do arm excersizes, like lifting weights and push ups to tone your arms and burn fat.

is it bad if im about 5 foot 4 and 118.5 pounds? (link)
Thats the right weight for your height. It isn't bad at all.

my boobs are differently sized and when i put my shirt on (it shrunk in the dryer) you could tell i turned and when i lookd in the mirror i looked flat on one side but on the other side i looked "normal" like how i should. why is it like that? how long until my other "grows out"?

(link)
When your still growing your boobs may be different sizes, but I would see a doctor if they're so drastically different that it looks abnormal. Only a doctor will be able to tell if something is wrong.

i rarely wear any underwear and i was wondering if there is anything wrong with this or anything bad can happen to my you knowww (link)
It's fine. There's nothing wrong with it.

after you get your period do you still get discharge? (link)
Yes.

if you do the tester on a small part of your arm with the arm bleach and your skin does not turn orange or get irritated, does that mean the rest of your arm will be fine when you do the rest of your arm? (link)
If you put the tester on a small part of your arm and nothing happens, if you put it on the rest of your arm it should be fine.

My x bf smoked pot, and I didn't know about it until about 2 months into the relationship (which is why I broke up with him). Anyway me being the kind of person who can't stand up for themselves and him being the definition of asshole, smoked right in front of me with his friend. When they came back from the room they were in I could still smell it and I think I may have been high for like a second or two? Or at least getting there... everything got so weird and all that happened was him walking by me, so I stepped outside because I didn't want to get involved. I just want to make sure this couldn't have hurt me in any way? I wouldn't ever do it but I got scared that it seemed to work so fast just from him walking by me. (link)
I don't think that could hurt you in any way.

how do i get rid of these scab things in my head?i only have like 1 idk what it is what shampoo should i use? (link)
I would just leave it be. Use a gentle, cleansing shampoo and don't pick at it. Avoid brushing over it because it might rip it off.

I have mild acne on my face, chest and back.
what would you guys suggest for me to use to help clear it.. i have mixed feelings about proactive...
ive been usind oxy pads, but they havent shown much improvement...
anything will do thx!
(link)
I would try Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash on your face as well as your chest and back. It's somewhat strong on some people's skin though, so I would not use it every day, or if you want to, use Clean & Clear Oil Free Morning Glow Moisturizer after washing your face. You'll probably only need to use the moisturizer on your face, because your back probably wouldn't get dry. Both of these items can be found for around $3-$4 each at CVS or Wal Mart.

I recently asked about birth control, and its side effects, plus what the "yellow dots" meant. So it's the same person here..

Later on I experienced these cramps in my lower abdomen. I started my period awhile back and stopped two weeks ago, and I am getting cramps again.. (no signs of blood or spotting)

I usually don't start until like every 30 days. I could assume I'm just being irregular again but nowhere on my b/c brochure it said you'll experience irregular cramps -- just irregular periods and spotting.

So is this normal or do I need to check with my gynecologist again? I also had these cramps for 3 days now, and nothing else is happening. I could have what's going around perhaps? But it's been off-and-on for awhile.

Thanks for your help! (link)
I would see a doctor if these cramps are bad and bothering you. If you haven't had your appendix out it could be something to do with that. That happens to me sometimes, and I just take ibuprofen and they usually go away within the day. Call your gynecologist and ask.
