I want to try out for my highschools cheerleading squad.. Ive cheered b4 but i heard that high school tryout are harder. if u tried out for you high schools cheerleading squad, what did you have to do?

for our squad we just had to show them a dance, cheer, 1 or 2 jumps, tumbling, & a few stunts of your choice.

The year I decided to try out for volleyball. Before the tryouts, we had 3 days of practice to get us ready. The 3 practice days are over, and they were pretty rigorous. After every practice, my wrists and legs would hurt for hours. It hurts to walk. Before practice, we run a few laps around the track and run up stairs to warm up. Tryouts are on Tuesday. Is there anything I can do to stop the pain from coming after practice? Or is it just because I'm not used to working out this hard and I'll get used to it after a while?

Your body'll get used to it after a while -- for now just take some ibuprofin + stretch out, and that should help a bit.

I didn't know where to put this question, but anyway, I can ride horses bareback very well and I jump horses very well (with a saddle of course). Think I would get hurt if I tried jumping without a saddle? I've never fell off a horse bareback, and I flatout gallop them. Just wonderin.

I'd stick with the saddle. I've galloped a horse bareback [[ and jumped VERY small things - unintentionally - ]], and it just doesn't seem like it'd be terribly safe to do any jumping without a saddle.

2morrow im trying out for my hs volleyball team (im a freshman) well i was kinda wondering like what to expect at a tryout esp. a volleyball one.... like do u have to run b4 it or like do sum sort of interview or do u jus go into teams and jus play while the coaches examine u???!!!

When I played volleyball, at our tryouts, they made us do a *ton* of conditioning, so you'll probably run // maybe jump rope or do weights. Then they had us do this dot thing where you had to jump on these dots in a certain order + as fast as you can, and then they measured how high you could jump + how tall you were. Then we went to different stations and had to show them different sets, serves, digs, hits, etc. And then we played with different teams and stuff for a while. I don't know how long your tryouts are, so I don't know how much of that stuff you'll do [[ ours were like, 6 hours a day for a week, so .. yeah ]]. Good luck! =)

k i kno my catrgory isnt right, i just picked one...ok heres my problem:
i have an outie belly botton...i kno gross right but if i got it pierced would it look bad? or should i just get surgrey n make it an inny?

If you really want to get it pierced, just get it pierced, it's not that big of a deal :o). If you don't like it, you can always just take it out.

does anyone know any good techniques for basketball to get ur left hand stronger?

Work on layups + stuff with your left hand .. just do everything you practice normally with your right hand with your left hand instead + it should get stronger.

...i play soccer a lot and im kinda busy...i realli wanna be able to do like back walkovers and stuff...without coaches...can u give me like TONS of tips that would help me learn how?? thanx

You can start by working on bridges to see how much flexibility you have on your back // become more flexible, and then you can work on doing backbends [[ try them walking your hands down the wall ]], and then just start to kick over. Try having a friend spot you or using some mats, just so you don't get hurt [[ i know, it's unlikely that you will, but it could happen ]]

i feel like when im playing sports i have certain expectations to look up to cuz my sisters are all awesome at soccer and basketball and then there me and i think im not that good. but all my friends disagree. idk...wut do i do?

Don't worry about being better than your sisters, just try to playing better than you've ever played before and work on improving your skills.

Practice a lot, try out for the basketball team if your school has one. See if the rec department has any programs. Join summer // out of school teams, go to basketball clinics // camps. Good luck :o)

Are you supposed to wear underwear while playing volleyball in spandex?

Most definately! We always did when I played .. volleyball spandex generally aren't designed to be worn without them, and it probably wouldn't be too healthy to not wear anything underneath.

okay, I just wanna know for all you people who are in gymnastics or dance...can you give me tips on how to do a better switch leap? i've can almost do both of my splits and i dont know if you can help me but i just need to know how to do a better switch leap. thanks.

For me, it just took a lot of practice. I can't see you doing it, so I can't tell you if you're doing anything wrong or not, but most likely if you keep working on it, it'll come :o). Talk to your teacher/coach and see if they can help you out, after all that *is* their job. :o) Good luck!
