Im 12 and im off to school in about 2 weeks..im going shopping with my mum for the school stuff..and i really and truly do need a bra but i feel shy to ask, i was thinking of doing it when we go shopping, because i dont think i would last in P.E when we go back to school also my nipples show throught certain tops which stops me from wearing them which is really annoying! and ideas on what i could do or say?

hey.

this is a really common
problem! i was actually the
same way as you. there's
2 options you can choose
from-- either go to the mall
alone with a friend and
buy a bra yourself, or when
your shoppng with your
mom go and start looking
at bras and be like mom can
i get one? it's really easy
and she'll be happy that
you asked her! which one
sounds more embarassing
to you: asking your mom
for a bra, or having your
nipples show through your
shirts in school & having
people make fun of you? your
mom probably was the same
way as you when she was
your own age. now that
you're growing up, you're
gonna have to talk to her
about periods, tampons,
sex, boys, and a whole lot
of other stuff that's
more embarassing than a bra.
she's your MOM, she's not gonna
make fun of you. it's the same
thing as asking her to buy
you a shirt. a bra is an
article of clothing, it's like
a shirt, you can't go without
one. i hope this helps you
and good luck with it! if this
fails, then go to limited
too and buy a cami with a
built in bra, it's basically a cami with
a liner that acts like a sports
bra. but i think this should work! good
luck, hun! ♥

P.S: kohl's has a lot of bras to choose from. here's the website, look around.

I'm going to volleyball tryouts for my freshman year the week of August 13-17 (school starts on the 16th). I've played soccer before on a rec. team but I'm not like the ultimate sporty girl. The only time that I've played volleyball was during the times that we played in gym. I have a really great advantage, though, and that is my height (5'8") and the ability to jump up and like set the ball.

What should I expect on the first day of tryouts? The sheet just basically says dress in a shirt, athletic shorts, clean tennis shoes, and hair must be put back away from the face. I've never really played volleyball for real, I'm a little nervous. Do you think I will be good as an actual player on the team?

hey.

yay! i love volleyball.
i was on the team last year in
7th grade, so you guys might do
things that are different from
what we did, but here's how
our try outs went.

alright. first of all, you need a over hand serve to make the team. you need to play good on both front & back row. it's best if you had some experience because there will most likely be a lot of girls trying out that have had experience. the basics are:

-over hand serves
-under hand serves
-round house serves
-bumps
-sets
-back sets
-spikes
-passing
-diving

being tall is a good advantage, but don't depend on your height on making the team. you also have to run a lot at practices. we usually run a mile at every practice. you need to be able to get a really good jump in the front row to spike the ball. go for it, but don't be bummed out if you don't make it. it's honestly no big deal, just practice more. i think it would be a good idea to start practicing now. practice with friends. here are some websites that might help:

it's good to see a visual. go here to see videos:

remember, the power is all in your arms. you need to have really strong arms, especially to serve it overhand. i got lucky because my older cousin is a volleyball coach and i learned this all from her. good luck with the tryouts and i hope you make the team! ♥

How can i convince my parents to let me get a trampoline? i need help

hey.

will they not let you get one
because of safety or price? if for
safety, tell them that they
make trampolines with nets. if
the price, raise your own money to
save to buy it yourself. they're
about $300. do chores around
the house or babysit. if that all
fails, then kindly sit them down and
explain to them why you want one.
for the summer time for when
you get bored, to get a good workout,
etc. hope i helped
& good luck! ♥
