I'm a tomboy and all the girls at my school wear the same types of clothes from the same types of stores. All the guys that I like went out with all of those girls. They liked me but wouldn't go out with me so I don't know if it's because of me being a tomboy or what. I mean I'm not a complete tomboy,I wear some of that stuff every now and then but not all the time,so I don't know if I should just be like those girls or what. Well,also I wasn't popular and they were,so maybe that's what it was. I know you're not supposed to change who you are but I don't know what to do.
never ever change yourself to fit in or to get a certain guy to like you.
im sure your great the way you are, and i know for a fact that there are guys at you school who see you more than a friend. but they might be too shy to let you know. try flirting with a cute boy that your interested in. and if its ment to be, it will happen.

u should ask him, u need to tell him that uve been taken for advantage a few times n u dont deserve to be treated like that.. so be like if ur just w me to make out n get some then tell me now bc i deserve to know n i dont want to be leaded on anymore.. let it out! :D

i went out with guy like 2 months ago who i really really liked but then he dumped me and i found out that he had been 2 timing me but he just said he didnt and even if he did it wasnt like we were married or anything but iw as really hurt. then we became rfiends and he said he wanted to be really good friends but whenever i see him he just ignores me but i still really like him and i think he sought of still likes me but is trying not to show it. Ok its CREEPY thers this guy that i hung out with ONCE at a party who goes to a totally different school then me. he ends up calling me (even though i never gave him my number??) and we talk alittle but i really dont like him. then he calls me right before i left yesterday (ON MY HOUSE PHONE?!?) and i told him i couldnt talk and he said "why not" and i said "im about to go to the movies with my friends" and then i went there and guess who was there! yupp that guy!! and he decided to see the same movie at the same time! weird huh! how do i get rid of him??

ok, so i dont think im ugly, but i know im definitely not gorgeous, and when i get compliments on my body or anything else from guys, i don't know how to respond. I've had self-esteem issues and when i hear these compliments, im glad someone thinks of me that way, but i dont wanna sound like "OMG! Im hot shit.." How do i respond to these compliments without sounding like im hot shit or end up rejecting them?

Hey-i was reading through your column and i really liked the advice you were giving so i was wondering if you could help me out with a situation i have:
alrite so beginning of this year (i was still a junior in high school) i met a guy (a senior in high school who's now a freshman in college) through my best friend's boyfriend and one nite after all 4 of us hanging out i ended up hooking up with him. When it started out, neither of us was looking for a relationship, i was just looking to gain experience so i figured it was a great idea. Long story short-i went pretty far with him and got attached-towards the end of the school year we found out we both really liked each other, we went to prom together and were hooking up monogamously for about 4 months but he never asked me out-finally middle of summer he said he didn't wanna lead me on but he really didn't want a gf when he was gonna be leaving for college in a month-i told him i understood but naturally i was heartbroken. So i didn't see him the rest of the summer, i've just heard stories about him hooking up with other girls which killed me...literally but i finally finally got over him (its been a long long road). Anyways he's back for thanksgiving break and i haven't gotten play in awhile-so this friday we are getting together-im really worried cuz when i see him i don't know if i will have the strength to turn down hooking up with him, but i definitely know i don't have the strength to get over him again-at the same time....i desperately need play LOL. What do u think i should do?!?!

hmm.. lets see- well first of all he was an ass for leading you on all that time, and then not wanting a relationship afterwords, but i can kinda see his point bc u guys wont always be like side by side as much as u would like. if u really want some from him then u should go for it! just make it a one night stand!! but if u think u will get heartbroken and too attached, i think u need to find another guy whu is actually looking for a gf and some play at the same time :) u just need to decide which ones more import. to u. hope i helped!

I was always obsessed with a guy and I would always talk about him. And when my friends would talk about him, I would continue and say that i love him and all that. But he already has a girlfriend, so I dont wanna talk about him anymore. I wanna avoid talking about him when my friends are talking about him. It's really hard to change the subject when I don't know what else to talk about. So basically, all I need to know is how do I stop talking and thinking about a guy who I was obsessed with before?

Well, my friend Jacob and I are close friends right, and he totally tells me all the time that he likes this girl and she likes his friend (cough cough...me) and he says that he still hangs out with her and stuff. but anyways its waay obvious he likes me (im the girl he's talking about).
And so today we were just passin notes in class (just like FRIENDS do) and this girl Brittany goes "are you guys passing notes?" and i said "yeah" and she goes "aww how cute....you guys should go out" and Jacob goes "why? just cuz we're passing notes?" and she says "no u guys would be so cute together n stuff" and me and Jacob look at each other like what?! and so yeah that was weird.now every1 thinks me n Jacob like each other and i swear i dont like him. I like him a lot as a friend. but JUST as a friend.
so, what do i do? Jacob's thinking of introducing me to his friend I like soon. what if Jacob asks me out? if jacob does ask u out then just be like were really good friends and i know if we go out and break up then we wont be as close as b4, and i dont want that to happen.. i think its just better if we stayed this way. he'll prolly be like yeah ur right. just tell him that u like him but not that way and u would nvr wanna ruin ur friendship with him so going out isnt gunna work out
there is this girl that is obsessed with me at school. Before I even knew her she knew all of my classes, and now I see her ever time I turn around. After talking with her for only 5 min she said that her mom wanted to meet me. the only way u two could see each other on a regular basis is him coming over to your house.. so u need to tell ur parents if u want this to last. bc seeing eachother once or twice on a weekend isnt gunna last long at all

okay, this weekend i was at an academic kinda thingy...there was a dance and i met a guy there, he was really sweet and we had an awesome time....when it was over he walked me to my hotel room and gave me a kiss :o)
the next day, i saw him again. long story short we made out...well, know i'm back home and i could shoot myself b/c i didn't get his AIM email or anything! what should i do to feel better?

I always look at the people around me, happy with their boyfriend or girlfriend. I sort of want a boyfriend, but sometimes it doesn't feel like it's the right time. I have a few guy friends, but not many. I don't hang out with any guys after school. There's one guy friend that I talk to a lot, but I don't like him like that (and he has a girlfriend anyway). So I need advice on what to do? I know you will all say "You're only 13 you don't need a boyfriend", or "Just wait until the right time, he'll come", but..I just feel so lonely sometimes, and I want to know that someone will always be there for me.

heres my problem. well ever since like 3 years ago, i've kinda had a thing for this guy, Chris. and we'd always flirt and talk and in class we'd have to get our seats moved bc we talked to much. and my Best Best friend ever has liked him to. but she's always rotating on who she likes. like if she likes a guy, and they dont like her, she decided to like another guy instead. well she recently started going out w/ Chris. and it was their one month yesterday and they dont even act like a couple At all. they like hug at the end of the day and thats it. they hardly Ever go Anywhere together, their basically acting like friends, not boyfriend and girlfriend. and then like last week, she started having strong feelings for this other guy. and she was gonna dump chris and everything. then she changed her mind, and wrote chris a note saying that she had feelings for another guy and it wasnt fair to him that she likes 2 guys at once, blah blah blah. and he didnt even talk to her about it! he just acted like it never even happened! i was like WTF? she had even told me that "i'm gonnna be all over *this guy* and i dont care what chris thinks or says about it" and i told chris that she said that..and he didnt really seem to care about that either? and the only reason i still have feelings for chris is b/c the way he looks at me. we always walk to 11th period together and he's constanly making me laugh. and when me him and my bestfriend are sitting their talking he'll look at me and just give me this amazing smile. i know its corny but his bright blue eyes and that smile just really get to me. and sometimes when my bestfriends not around we'll even flirt a little. i'm just really confused..i think he deserves a girl that likes him and Only him, what should i do? i want to make him see that shes not right for him, but i also dont wanna get into a fight w/ my bestfriend..thanks~*
hmm maybe ur friend thinks she can get whu ever she wants, and she wants as many guys as she can get as once.. if u think chris needs to know what your friend does n says behing his back, then go for it. but friendship is prolly more important.. its really up to you to decide where this one needs to go
