Q: i am a very shy person, even when i am around people i know i always feel like anything i say they are judging me about it! or that they are talking about me! i suppose its more that i am paranoid, but is there anything i can do to stop this!? please help its really embarrasing!

I'm actually pretty shy, too. Well, sometimes. I've overcome it, pretty much.. I still have my times. I've actually had the feeling that people think i'm stuck up because I don't talk around them [because I don't know them]. I actually got over it by joining my Church drama group [you don't have to join a church drama group, but its fun. maybe school or something] & I joined my schools dance team. It's really fun. & it does help getting over your shyness. Today, 7 of us did a drama infront of about 200 people at Church and I wasn't that shy. So, it's something to get into if you want to get over your shyness. It also helps because now i'm not afraid to go talk to people.

Q: what's the freshman year is like? because im going
to high school next year and im scared and yeah

Freshman year isn't as bad as it seems [i'm a junior now]. I loved it. It was a bit overwhelming, though. Of course, the school I went to was big.. and crowded [so you had to rush to get to class on time]. The first few weeks are a bit stressful [because you need to get used to this new atmosphere. your not locked up like you were in middle school]. It's really fun, though. You make tons of new friends [but keep in touch with the old ones].. and everything's just great. There is a lot of drama, though, so just stay out of it and it'll all be fine. ;D

Q: i just graduated and im very worried about my old friends because im going
to high school next year and im scared that i not gonna see my old friends anymore..='( how do we keep in touch with ur old friendsand stay close to them? is it possible that if am lucky u get same class with my old friend?

Don't worry about it. It is very possible that you will get a few classes with your old friends. That's what I was worried about when I first entered High School [now i'm in 11th grade].. I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to see my friends anymore, that we would grow apart. We didn't, though. If anything, we became closer [well, a few of us did]. I had atleast one friend in every class.. & I would see the rest of them in the halls or at lunch. You even get to make new friends [which is good, very good, just don't get caught up with the wrong crowd].

Q: does anybody think its tacky to tell somebody you like them over instant message? it just feels so much easier to let everything out that way than in person.

Hm, i'm kinda in the middle about this.

Yes, it is a lot easier to tell someone how you feel in an IM, but that person might like it better if you told them face to face. I guess it all really depends on the type of person.. if you say it face to face they'll be able to tell that you really mean it... if you tell them in an IM then they might not know what to think.

Q: I know this may seem stupid. but i cannot stand freaking "popular" people. i have an advice collumn, and everyday i have a different message in my inbox from them like "stop being jelous of the popular people" or "why dont you wear preppy clothes and dress like everyone else? you'll never be popular if you do." and i sware im not jealous, and i wear all the same clothes they do. why do they think there the best? there really not that great. and i know im not a loser, so why do they call me one? they are all extremely mean, and full of themsleves. i dont want to be friends with them, but is there any way i can make them stop this? i really cant take it anymore and its really lowering my self esteem. pleaes i need help as soon as i can get it! thank you so so much!

oh bye the way if you are one of the popular people at your school, i'm really sorry im not being steriotypical and saying all popular poeple are like that. so please dont take thi the wrong way!

Popularity is so overrated I honestly don't know why they even bother with it.

Just because you don't act like them & meet their "standards" does not mean your a loser. So, don't let them get your self-esteem down. Half of the popular people i know aren't even HAPPY, believe it or not. How sad is that? They put on this big front and then they're not even happy with their lives! All i can tell you is to live your life so your HAPPY. Happiness is always the best way. It's sad, though, if you think about it.. some of them spend a tremendous amount of time putting others down only to make themselves feel better.

Q: i hate it when people talk about me behind my back but unfortunatly people do. and i dont know how to deal with it anymore. i used to ignore it but i cant anymore and im ready to snap. what should i do?

Yeah, I think all of us know how that feels whether we want to admit it or not. Look at the people who are talking about you behind your back.. [one] they're just making you the center of the world, so obviously you've had an impact on the one way or another. [two] they have nothing better to do than put others down and they really need to get a life, obviously.

All i can tell you is to continue ignoring them. Yeah, sure, it's going to be hard. Everything about life is hard, but i'm sure snapping at them won't do you any good. They'll probably just continue talking. You'll make it through this. ;D

Q: ok im 15/f. my bf now we have been dating a little over a year, and i love him with all my heart, i would do anythin for him in this world we'll call him FRED.well we broke up for like 2 weeks and i dated a boy (bob)and i broke up with him because i couldnt stop thinking about fred. my dad dont let me see fred or talk to him but now that we are dating again i have been in such a good mood and everything like that. me and bob got along good and were good friends now but the other day he asked me to go to prom with him what should i do??? is that considered cheating if i would go with him or is that wrong or what(going as friends)?

Okay, first, are you & "Fred" going to prom together..? You didn't really say.

Anyway, first you would need to talk to your boyfriend about it. Tell him the situation and things. Let him know whats going on. If he wants you to go to prom with him, then you'll simply have to tell the other kid No. If he doesn't want to go to prom with you [or whatever], then ask him if he would mind if you go with bob JUST AS FRiENDS. Just make sure you tell Bob, that you are only going as friends.. and tell him if he wants more, than you can't go.

Just make sure you say all of this before anything gets too far & out of hand. ;D
