Question:
Hey there!
I accidentally installed this "Websearch" program on my computer, so basically when I open up Firefox, instead of Google, Websearch starts. I really don't like it because it has a toolbar on the top full of annoying applications plus its bogging down my computer, making it very slow.
How can I get rid of this?

May I see the Hijackthis log of your computer, please? If it is inconvenient to post it on here, you can email me at ng2491(at)sent(dot)com
You can download Hijackthis from here: http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/

Original Answer:
So . . . any screenshot? What exactly is this "Websearch" program that you are talking about? What is the name of this "Webserach" program? How did you get it on your computer? What is your operating system (e.g. Windows XP or Windows Vista)? What is/are your web browser(s)?
We seriously need more information in order to solve this completely.
I am guessing that you are talking about "MyWebSearch," because it does sound like it in your question. But if I am wrong, please do tell me. Anyway, to completely remove MyWebsearch, there are two steps that you need to take first:
First:
1. Control Panel--->Add/Remove Programs--->uninstall the followings:
WebSearch Toolbar
WebSearch Tools
Search Assistant
Win-Tools Easy Installer
FunWebProducts
MyWaySpeedbar
(You might not see all of them, depending on how you have gotten it on your computer, but just uninstall the ones that you see and you should be fine.)
(Do NOT reboot your computer until you had removed the last one. So for example, if you see four of those, uninstall all four of them and then reboot.)
Second:
2. Download, install, and run Hijackthis: http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/
It will give you a log; please send that log to me so that I can tell you what to remove next--which will include folders, leftover files, browsing histories (includes cookies and caches), and registry entries.
Again, it will be extremely helpful if you can provide more information :-)
(Rating: 5) Thank you for answering. Sorry, I completely spaced on the information. I have a Windows Vista, and it downloaded when I clicked a link to an ad on Facebook. Yes, it is the My Websearch. Here's a screenshot like you asked: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=70eskj&s=4 I went to control panal and add/remove programs but I couldn't find the Websearch products. I tried removing it once before, and I'd uninstalled the WebSearch Toolbar, because it's no longer at the top of the page. But the actual program, I can't find in My Programs to delete. I'm not very computer savvy in case you hadn't notice lol =p so I'm sorry if this comes off as me just being silly. Chances are the answer's right in front of my face? lol Thank you in advance! =]
