hey I have always been known as the understanding person, and also have always given decent advice. I think that I have worldly experience and have seen a lot for my years. always try to give the best advice possible--no judgements

I've been single for about four months... And now I think that I'm ready to start dating again.
My problem is... I don't know where to meet an available guy. I tried bars and clubs in my wilder days, but the 'party' phase is over for me... So that's out. At work, I'm in a position of authority, so that's out. Church is not an option. I'm spiritual but don't tolerate dogma very well. So that's out.
Most of the guys that I have dated in the past, I met via the internet. I've tried Eharmony, Match.com, True.com, Plentyoffish.com, Myspace, and some other dating site that I had never previously heard of before. And I'm sick of internet dating. I receive tons of emails from guys that are inappropriate... Some of the guys that I have met post old photos and then look completely different in person. Some guys are only interested in 'hooking up.' And others... Are either socially awkward or just plain lazy.
Can anyone suggest a good place to meet people that doesn't involve alchol or a computer?
Thanks! (link)

Just being out and about puts in a position to meet people. You could hang out at coffee shops once and awhile or internet cafes. I've found if you have a dog and take it to the local dog park or beach or lake area you can meet a lot of guys. Having your animals connect is a good excuse for the humans to connect. If you have spare time between work, you could volunteer somewhere that interests you, that way you could meet people and also not have the problem of being their superior. Bars and clubs can get old, but if you reserved those nights just for special occasions that you would really enjoy, like your favorite local band playing, you could meet someone with similar likes. even just being open to being approached at public places works, like supermarkets, libraries, and movie rental stores. A little eye contact and a smile goes a long way. hope this helped somewhat
