Life really is a roller-coaster with it's ups and downs and varying speeds. Ok, here's the situation. I really like my friend Mike because he's so sweet & is extrememly nice to girls. However, he doesn't like me as a girlfriend, just as a friend. I tried to get closer to him, but it feels like I'll never be special to him because there's always someone else that he likes more. I try not to get jealous, but he has a lot of friends, so sometimes I wonder, what makes me so special? Since this relationship doesn't seem to be going anywhere, should I just give up & leave him alone entirely (so that I don't get hurt again) or should I keep trying to get close to him & see where it goes? I think that you should stop trying to get so close to him, but keep seeing him as a friend. I also suggest that you widen your circle of friends and see him a little less often. He may well just see you as 'one of the boys' for now but you never know one day he may just see you for who you really are. There is always hope, but you have to live for today so date other guys and have enjoy life as a teenager. All the best.
