advice

i want to clip a movie to like 10 minutes. i don't mean clip as in make it go fast. i mean cut it up into 10 min. each part.

how do you do that?

You need software.

You didn't mention what kind of computer you have, so here are some software choices:

Pinnacle
iMovie
Avid
Final Cut Pro

These all have tutorials that will teach you.
