My favourite quote is 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you'.
Life really is a roller-coaster with it's ups and downs and varying speeds. Yet no matter how hard you try to stay on an even keel, something always comes along to kick you in the teeth and remind you just how fragile life is. We are all trying to live the best we know how and to get along together. So take time to appreciate those around you and tell them how much you love them occasionally. A smile and a kind word speaks volumes.

Make sure you have all your toiletries with you including sanitary pads, spare panties and a good supportive feeding bra. A couple of clean nighties and a cardigan to put round your shoulders should also be included. Tissues, facial wipes and a drink to sip throughout labour may also help. Pack your bag several weeks before your due date and place it in view of your front door. That way you can grab it on the way out.
Baby needs nappies, clothes, blankets, and if the hospital doesn't supply it - cotton wool for washing baby's face and a small flannel for the other end.
As YoungGrandma said - a car seat is essential for taking your newborn home in.
Good luck and best wishes.
