My friend said the first time she smoked a cigarette, she got "high" and she felt jittery and light-headed. Is that true? I mean, can that happen with a cigarette? I'll rate high for good answers. Thanks
It isn't a high as you think of with other drugs, like marijuana. It's more of a light tingly feeling on your skin, a lightheadedness, and a sudden burst of energy. This is commonly known as a "buzz".
All of this can be explained by the fact that not only was it her first time smoking, but because the main ingredient in cigarettes, nicotine, is what they call a "stimulant". It speeds the heart and breathing. This usually happens any time you smoke a cigarette, but it's less noticeable if you begin to smoke regularly.
(Rating: 5) Thanks for going in to depth about it, I understand now.
