Dory,

My hair is totally NOT naturally straight! It's incredibly frizzy, hard to manage, thick, wavy.. and blah! I dislike it. Greatly.

I have my hair cut in layers to help use the thickness of my hair to keep it flat and straight. I use a CHI [Ceramic Hairstraightining Iron] flat iron from Farouk. I bought it online from eBay - brand new - at a discounted rate. Usually they're about $112; but I got mine - shipping and all - for $85. I also use Holding Spray from Bumble&Bumble. The Holding Spray locks in the straight and keeps humidity from affecting my hair; and helps keep static to a minimum. I use a heavyweight conditioner which also helps.

It takes me about fourty-five minutes to straighten my hair, it's three inches below my shoulder (a little more? I'm not sure) and super thick. But after fourty-five minutes, I'm ready to go. My hair is completely straight - like it is in that picture. It's totally worth the fourty-five minutes.. :)
