Hey. I just want to be really realistic here with my question. Think of something you might do in real life. There's this kid I know from my church, he used to come but he left for a while. We were kids then. Now he's back and he's a year older, I'm going into 9th grade. I'm very interested in him and I wouldn't know if he has any in me because we literally never talk. How do I start something up with him? And realisticly, I'm not going to be all bouncy and annoying. He seems a bit shy too, and I want something clever, and not like "Hi, what's your name" type of thing. Thanks!

Maybe you could say

"hey, haven't seen you in a while! How's it going?" OR

If you doesn't talk to you, or doesn't show intrest, maybe you should try someone else. Can't force someone to be in to you.
