Me and my best guy friend have been going out on and off again. when we first realized we liked each other it was awesome, we went out for a couple months, then dated around for one month, then we were back on for a few months and now we're off again. however it still feels like we're going out, he still says i love you and he comes over and we still do everything as if we were going out. but i ask him why dont we just go out with each other and he doesn't want to. it's not even that he's interested in other girls or anything. he tells me he just needs time, but why does he need time when we're still doing the same stuff?

Guys are stupid and we will never understand them. He probably thinks that since he can get you either way, there is no need for the official title of a boyfriend. It's not his fault because guys just can't handle it sometimes. They'd rather just get the benefits. My guess is that you should ask him the same thing you asked here.

"Why do you need when we're doing the same stuff? It's basically like we're together anyway"

Or something of the sort. Get him thinking. Maybe he'll realize it too.
