Advicenators: Ask lorelei!

Hi, I'm Lorelei. I live with my mother, my older sister and my grandmother.
I travel a lot but I'm never a tourist. ;) My mother owns property all over the country and I'm extremely lucky to feel at home in so many different places. It's a lot of fun and I get to see a lot of things and meet a lot of people.
Shopping always seems to be better away from home too.
I'm very fashion-minded and stylish, spontaneous and energetic, dorky and giggly. I enjoy having a good time. Almost too much. I party every chance I get. I do drink but I do so responsibly and you should too.
I'm very young but the year 2003 caused me to learn more about who I am than some people get to learn about themselves in an entire lifetime. Ever since I've made it a point to share what I've learned with everyone possible. Ask and I'll do my best to answer.

How much do you weigh?

My best friend is 16 and she has been dating this guy that is 20, they have been going out for about 2 months or so and he has been trying to have sex with her. And she always told him that I don't want that and she's waiting(virgin). And he would say ok but then later on when they see each other again he trys. So I'm thinking maybe he could be trying to use her for sex. They "love each other" but I don't know, I'm kind of feeling a little iffy about this guy. What do you think or what should I do??

He may not just be using her for sex.

Some people see sex as a sort of validation for a relationship. Perhaps he feels it necessary they have sex since they're "supposed" to be in love and that's what people in love do.

There is the chance that he is using her, though. That's hard for me to tell, since I don't know anyone involved. I'm just trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.

In any case, it's totally wrong of him to continue pressuring her after she's told him she wants to wait. If your friend wants to continue in that relationship, and his constantly asking doesn't bother her, she can continue expressing to him that she really wants to wait and she just isn't ready for sex. Perhaps he'll realize it in time. I wouldn't recommend that, though.

I always say, the moment you start to feel uncomfortable in a relationship with someone, it's time to break it off. If your friend is starting to feel uncomfortable, perhaps it is time to move on. Sex is a big deal and waiting to give it up is a big decision that he should respect if he loves her so much.

Where do you shop at?

As far as clothes I like Forever 21, Kohl's (I admit it!), Lacoste and Nordstrom! Makeup, I usually get from the drug store or sephora. I also love shopbop.com, amazon.com, eluxury.com and occasionally, bluefly.com. I love to shop online.

Do you wear any foundation/powder?? If you do what do you use? And also do you tan? You have a nice skin tone in your pics and your face looks perfect!

Secondly, yes I do tan. A lot. I get a discount because I work at a tanning salon. I'm tanorexic, lol.

As far as powder, I do use a bronzer from time to time. It's Irreelle soleil by Chanel. I also use photogenic pressed powder by lancome on those shiny days.

As redundant as it sounds, the absolute key to great skin is cleanliness and moisturizng. I just started using Aqua Fusion moisturizer by Lancome and it's fantastic in every way! To clean, I swear by clearasil products.

Facewash, vanishing cream and zit zapping pads for emergencies.

I really like this guy I met him the first day of school when him and all his friends came up to me to tell me I was hott and he was just standing there so I talked to him its been 13 days since we met but I feel like its been more then that anywayz Today we were hugging alot and holding hands I was hugging him when someone said AWW u guys are so cute U should go out So i said ok I will then he said NO she doesnt want to SO everyone was like u just missed a big huge chance to ask her out then all of a sudden hes like I have a girlfriend I cant WHy didnt he tell me sooner and what should I do about this?

There's nothing you can do. He's got a girlfriend. It was wrong of him to lead you on (which he obviously did) and I'm sorry that happened. That's no fun. :( But this is someone you've just met, anyway. Give yourselves a chance to become friends since he has other obligations.

hey umm idk if this is under the right category but w.e..well i was wondering if wearing bronzer to school is appropriate like it isn't too dressy or w.e and if it isn't what brand do you recommend(powder or that liquid stuff)? and also what eyeshadow that last all day that is more a neutral color (like beige, brown, bronze etc..)that is shimmery is good a good brand to buy?

Lancome has a wonderful bronzey eyeshadow that goes on kind of sheer but adds shimmer to your eyelids. I LOVE Lancome eyeshadow.

And honestly, I think bronzer may be too much for a daily make-up regimen. It's wonderful for special occasions or when you want to look really special, but just to wear to school, it's too much. You don't want to give the impression that you're trying too hard. Y'know? :)

Okay well when I go to my campground this weekend. I want this boy to like me. What should I wear. What accesories sould i put on. How should my hair be like besies just plan down.and I kinda want him to ask me out. What should I do??

Any guy whose worried more about your clothes than your personality isn't worth bothering with. You should just wear what's comfortable for you.
If you want to get his attention, you should talk to him. Always make eye steady eye contact when he speaks to you. and just be yourself!

Last weekend , iwent to my moms house and from there i went to this guy named harry's house. Well he was sick and i guess i stayed around him alot so i think i caught we he has had. We didnt share dirnks or whatever,but like i have the worse throat pains and sinus problems let alone bad headaches and stomach as well.He says he had bronchitus ,but do you think i could've got it as well ? each day it gets worse.

Unfortunately, there is a chance that you might've been infected. The symptoms you describe though aren't typical of bronchitis. In either case, the best thing to do is see a doctor.

Hey..
I already have my ears pierced but I would like to either get my cartilage pierced or my ears double-pierced..what do you prefer? Which looks better? Hurts more/less? THANKS*PAST EXPERIENCE IS GOOD TO STATE TOO*

I've got both of my lobes pierced twice and my cartilage pierced on my left ear.

The cartilage doesn't really hurt that much more than the lobe piercing, but it does get sore afterward.

I like the way it all looks together, but if I had to choose between the two, i'd choose the cartilage. It just looks cooler in my opinion. :)

Oh and if you decide to get it done, don't let them do it with a gun. :( It'll take forever to heal and it's just bad for you.

Okay I have acne. Not that bad. And i would love to clear it up b4 school starts which is 8 days away. what can I do to clear the acne. Is there anything that actually works in 8 dayds or less. please I need to get rid of this acneee...

Clean & Clear Face Wash, Clean & Clear Astringent and Clearasil vanishing cream.

Wash your face twice a day, use astringent and the cream afterwards. You should be looking a lot better in a week. :)

i want to get my belly button pierced but my mom wont let me i've tryed before butgot like half way threw and just sorta stoped how should i do it i mean i dont wanna kill myself or anythang haha thanks I RATE WELL

Sorry, but it is really a bad idea to pierce yourself. Running a needle over a lighter doesn't sterilize it! Needles can NOT be sterilized if they aren't autoclaved and packaged in a sterile environment. And even then, they are one use only. If you just HAVE to do it, please go get a real, sterilized piercing needle and sterile jewelry! ( http://www.coolpiercings.com/piercebelly.html )

You should never EVER pierce yourself. Leave it to a professional! The best thing to do is try and convince your mother that this is something that you really want to do.

well, i think this is school related...

how do u cover a book with a paper bag, where do u cut on the paper bag?

Cut along the side seam of the bag and cut out the bottom.

Set your book on top of the paper and enter the book. Use a pencil to mark the paper along the top and bottom edges of the book.

Remove the book from the paper and fold the top and bottom edges toward the center of the paper from the marked lines so that the cover is the same height as the book.

Set the book, open, back on the paper, aligning it with the folds. Center the book and fold the left and right edges of the paper over the front and back covers of the book and tape them to the inside with a dot of masking tape (masking tape isn't too likely to rip off the inside of the book) or don't use tape at all and hope for the best.

Hey! I'm going back to school on Thursday and I'm all set but there are two problems: I don't know what to do with my hair and how I should do my makeup. Well here's a little information about me: I'm 5'5, tan skin, blue/green eye, and I have dark brown shoulder length hair. For the first day of school, I'm gonna wear cute tight jeans, a cute polo shirt that has a few buttons unbuttoned with a tank top underneath. What should I do with my hair like straighten it, scrunch it, etc and how should I do my makeup like what eye shadow and eye liner colors and etc? Thanks!

For your eyes, I'd suggest brown liner, a shade of pink shadow on your eyelids, and black mascara. This will contrast with the color of your eyes and make them stand out.

Use a lightly tinted, matte gloss for your lips that compliments the color of your shirt.

As far as hair, you can't go wrong with wearing your hair down and curled. Pin straight hair doesn't work well with the neckline of a polo shirt, so I suggest using a large-barreled curling iron to give your ends some lift.

Okay there's this boi I like. He knows I like him, but I feel crazy for liking him, cause I dun even know him! I was jux attracted to him istantly. Ok i dont no what to do i have this guy friend that has been my friend for over 2 years and i really like him alot more then just a friend but i no if i ever told him i like dhim then just a friend he would freak out and i dunno what he would do but i still want our friendship to be there and i feel if i tell him that i like him he wont talk to me or something

Odds are, the reason you feel you like him is because you enjoy spending time with him. I honestly wouldn't risk your friendship in the hopes for a relationship that might not even work out.
You could try dropping him some subtle hints, though. He might like you too, but there are indirect ways to go about finding out. I doubt he'd freak out if you told him your feelings, though.

Howdy; it's advice-giver lovelyrita in the mood for some advice-gettin'. I'm a 21-year-old female and I'm an incredible cheapskate when it comes to clothes (or anything, really). When I was younger I was Thrift Store Girl, but nowadays I take advantage of the incredible sales at websites like Alloy, Delias, and GirlfriendsLA (RIP). I know I'm a bit old to be shopping at places like that, but I can't resist the call of Sweet-Ass Tops for Under $10. So my question is: do you know of other websites that have fantastic sale sections?

I'm a huge fan of forever21.com. And of course, there is always eBay. Rampage.com also has pretty decent sale prices. Oh and then there's also Kohl's department store! I got two pairs of jeans from there once for only 30 bucks!
