So, My really good friend just commited suicide and I really wanna read up on reancarnation. Does anyone know any really good books about that?

See if a local Hindu or Buddhist temple has a library, or you can talk to a religious leader there. Hindus believe in a selfhood/soul and Buddhists do not, but both believe that your friend (or your friend's illusion of self) will be reincarnated as many times as it takes to work off his/her karma.

As an aside, I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. Although you will always grieve, I hope some day you will be able to be at peace.

My sister is a lesbian, and I am good friends with her girlfriend. When I am introducing the two of them to other people I always find myself saying "this is my sister and her friend."
I know I should say girlfriend, but I never can get it out.

Is it alright if I just say friend to avoid akward moments and let coversations to contiune to flow, or do you think it is affending to my sister and her girlfriend?

In some situations, they may actually prefer that their sexual preference not be the first thing someone learns about them. Anyways, ask your sister and her girlfriend how they want to be introduced. I'm sure they'll understand that you're not ashamed of their relationship, but that you sometimes feel awkward.

im 13, and my dad is turning 60 soon. i know thats not too weird if you have older parents, but my mom is only 40. and my dad is overweight but he's losing a lot. he used to be 300 lbs now he's 260. i know that thats good for him. and his dad lived to be 85, and his mom is 80 and shes still living. but im so scared of losing him before i grow up because i know all my friend's dads will be walking them down the isle when they get married but im soo scared that he wont be there for mine. how do i stop worrying? and im scared i'll break down while im talking to him about it so how can i? thanks

If you're afraid you'll break down, write him a letter. Don't mention death; be positive and say how happy you are that he's been trying to take better care of himself because you care about him. It'll mean a lot to him and he'll definitely be motivated to keep working on his health - especially if you mention the walking-down-the-aisle thing. Daddies are suckers for that.

hello. all my life i have been made fun of because of my muslim faith. people always say, there is bin laden, get him.they think i support the 9/11 attacks. my parents support them but i don't. please help me get through this before i go crazy.

Bin Laden is/was an EXTREMIST. He "hijacked" Islam, much in the way there are fundamentalist Christians who have completely twisted the whole "love thy neighbor" message into something hateful.

There are two states(Kentucky & Illinois) that will let you use a religious objection in order not to give them your social security number when applying for a drivers license. Does anybody know what exactly what would qualify as a religious objection to those two states?

When the government started assigning SSNs, there was an uproar among some people because they believed it had something to do with The Mark of the Beast (from The Book of Revelations in the Christian Bible) and that the end times were upon us. Or something like that.

What exactly is Libertarianism? I live in an all-Republican house, so its very hard to get unbiased opinions on anything. Also, what are some websites?

Liberal on social issues
Conservative on economic issues

Hey I am turning 13 and i have already had my period...what does it mean when there is clear gel stuff on ur underwear? Can you explain it to me?

It's how the vagina stays clean. Unless it changes color or consistency or starts smelling bad, it's perfectly normal and healthy!

Okk I have really small boobs, and i just wanna know what kinda things to wear to distract people **guys** from that.. i mean im comfortable in my body but all my friends have like Huge boobs..soo what do i do?? help!! i rate high!!

High-necked shirts: boatnecks, turtlenecks, etc. If you want to show skin, bare your arms instead of your (lack of) cleavage. Also, remember that awful bridesmaid's dress you had to wear with the bow over the butt that made your ass look HUGE? Fringe, bows, pockets, lace, detailing, and other "stuff" over your bust enhances its size in the same way.

ok here it goes: ok..i LOVE to write stories, poems, and song lyrics..like it's fun (the idea of doing it). I try but i just dont get anything good. Any tips?? thAnKs

Read a shitload
especially contemporary stuff

Avoid clichés
"My heart shattered into a million pieces" has been said before. Many, many times.

Show, don't tell
"My brother is a slob" vs. "My brother wears his snot-stained undershirts for three days straight"

Use more concrete words (watermelon, hairy, pink) and fewer abstract words (freedom, sadness, love)

Use metaphor+similie
but no clichés, of course

Be original
be able to see what people see everyday in a new way

Revise, revise, revise
Writing workshop groups can be found at school, in the community, and online
