hey advicenators, my name is caitlin. i love giving people advice. i`ve had a previous advice column, but decided to quit giving advice. i regretted that and got a new column! this pretty much became my obession very fast. im on basically everyday, at least once. i never reject any questions that i get in my inbox, because i think that no question is stupid. when i do get questions in my in my inbox, it makes my day :]! remember that i cant see who you are. so you shouldnt feel embarassed to ask me anything! also just because i have my three favorite categories doesn`t mean that im not open to answer any other types of questions. i love getting feedback. it lets me know that im doing my job well! every question that i do ask on this site always gets rated. i mean you have to know if your giving good advice or not, right? if you do like my advice, feel free to add me as one of your favorite columnists!

i had one of those and i didnt like it at all. it took forever to straighten my hair and my hair is just to my shoulders. this sounds crazy but you dont need to buy a pricey straightener to make it weork good. a straightener around 80$ works fine but i woudlnt spend anything more. i got mine at bed bath and beyond. it works great.

your weight is fine for your height. your actually underweight for your height. i asked my doctor and he said that people 5`0 should be 100 pounds. you add 5 pounds each time you go up. so at 5`1 you should be 105, 5`2 you should be 110, 5`3 you should be 115. i wouldnt be trying to loose weight. i would just simply tone up your body by lifting small little hand weights for your arms and doing crunches for your stomach. as for your legs do leglifts.

this girl is my "best friend. except for she trys to be cool and a lot of people do notice. shse claims she "hates" the cool but then trys to hang out with them (which i dont get) my other best friend told me she was talking about me during lunch lieing a bout me like how im so bosy (because i asked her to save me a seat today!?) and other stuff but my other best friend wasnt paying attention. what doi do about her? if i ignored her shed be like i didnt do anything? i kno its true tho because my other best friend is like truthful and wouldnt lie about that stuff. well if she doesnt stand up for you when the cool kids are around then it seems that shes embarassed to be with you. notice that shes fine with you when your ALONE and with NO ONE else. shes fine with you because no one is seeing you with her. she isnt a good freidn to you. you should tell her how you feel and if she doesnt want to change for you just end the friendship. i know its going to be hard but its for the best for you. youll get hurt more and more by her if you dont end it if shes not willing to chcange. she wasnt a true friend to you and it looks like she enver will be. try to find antoerh group of loyal friends. goodluck. let me know how eveything thing goes. keep your head up high.

well you cant make her break up with her boyfriend for you. if she wants to stay with someone who doesnt treat her right thats her business. its not heathy for her, so you should be there for her whenever you can. develop a nice solid relationship with her, so that if she does break up with him, then maybe you`ll have a chance with her. you should politely explain to her that if he is not treating her right then she should get out of the relationship ASAP. as for getting to know her better, like i said be there for her and let her knwo that your friendly. even tho she has a boyfriend you can still hangout. invite her to go to the movies with you and a couple of your friends and her friends. he sint the only guy that she can hang out with. she should also have a talk with her boyfriend aboout the way he treats her if shes interesting in stayting wiht him. if he doesnt want to change for her then they should break up.

he is probably just still in shock taht the love of his life is moving to london. if you guys have a talk and fix your problems, im sure that you can have a long distance relationship. just email and chat on the phone every night. if you are not willing to try that then just try to explain to your parents with him that you guys are in love, and that you NEED to be together. ask if you can do your studies somewhere closer.

no its not wrong to ask him like that. if he is ignoring your calls etc. then you should go to him in person and have a talk with him. you cant force him to like you so if he doesnt its his loss and there are plenty of other good guys out there for you =].

so today, this kid told me he went to the bathroom and got stoned..and its true he did cause he was acting really weird and his face was all messed up when he got back. But i just don't understand how he could do that and not get caught or how he was able to do that in the bathroom, or like what he was getting stonned on?

I have an eating disorder.. i keep throwing up i have been for a couple of yeears now....i dont know how to admit it and i dont want to get help from a professional i just dont know what to do ....

start by telling a trusted adult. from there they will know where to call for help. i know its going to be hard to do but its for the best for you. it doesnt have to be your parents, it oculd be another relative or even your school counciler or teacher.

ok well you can just ask him to go to differnt places besides the movies. also you can ask him out by some cutesie way. like you could stick a note in his locker at school if you go to school with him and make it say like i really like you a lot and want to get to know you more, heres my number. then dont sign the note and just have him call you then tell him who you are then ask him out on the phone. if you he doesnt go to your school just slip it somewhere where he will see the note. another thing to do thats kind of the same thing is to slip a note somewhere and make it say like go to the gym on the 4th floor or wherever then hell find another note then make the notes lead to you and then ask him out there. another one is to type your number on a calculator then say call me. hope i helped.

i got my first period 1 week ago! it is still going on, and its not getting lighter. i've had it for 7 days and it feels like its not going away.

also, today i had horrible cramps, i had to come home from school i couldnt sit still i felt like i was going to die. my mom took me to the doctors, he sent my to CVS and he told me all of the medicine/pain relievers to use and now my cramps are gone. im NOT worried about cramps.

also today i threw up 3 times. the doctor checked me and i didnt have a fever my ears were fine i didnt have a cold, i was perfectly healthy so he doesnt know why i threw up. has anyone else ever threw up while on there period? is it normal?

basically my questions are...
1. is it normal to throw up while your on your period?
2. and since this was my first period, when i get my future periods will the cramps be not as bad?
3. and how long does the average menstural cycle go for each month? its been 7 days and it keeps getting heavier...
4. any other tips??

for the first like year your periods will be irregular. a normal period lasts anywhere from 3-7 days. throwing up on your period is perfectly normal. cramps sometimes lighten and sometimes they dont. its different everytime. i reccmend midol for the cramps.

yes, i love you would freak him out. i love you is a strong word. casually say something to him like hey, would you want to go to a movie with me? you could even make it a group thing and have your friends come and his friends come if your scared. you dont have to ask him out in person if your shy. theres always myspace, aim, email, or even the phone. when you ask him out be confident. guys know when a girls feeling confident and they love it =]. goodluck!

So, next week i'm going to a Reel Big Fish concert with the guy I like. I'm just now getting into ska music, and I want to fit in with this guy and his friends. well just act confident and like yourself. its a big change but confidence makes the change SO SO much better. alls you can do now is just keep it heathly and wait for it to grow out. as for now, jsut style your short hair cut. get ideas from style magazines on how to style short hair.

club. what do I wear? i want something not TOO covered up, like i want my legs and arms showing. there's not going to be any glow paint but there will be neon necklaces and bracelets
so what should i wear?

you should wear a black mini shirt with a hotpink cami. over the hotpink cami wear a black long sleeve fishnet top. wear some type of hotpink shoes too. get hotpink glow necklaces or whatever.
