hey advicenators, my name is caitlin. i love giving people advice. i`ve had a previous advice column, but decided to quit giving advice. i regretted that and got a new column! this pretty much became my obession very fast. im on basically everyday, at least once. i never reject any questions that i get in my inbox, because i think that no question is stupid. when i do get questions in my in my inbox, it makes my day :]! remember that i cant see who you are. so you shouldnt feel embarassed to ask me anything! also just because i have my three favorite categories doesn`t mean that im not open to answer any other types of questions. i love getting feedback. it lets me know that im doing my job well! every question that i do ask on this site always gets rated. i mean you have to know if your giving good advice or not, right? if you do like my advice, feel free to add me as one of your favorite columnists!

hey, you can get purple eyeshadow pretty much anywhere. the best namebrand i would go for would be MAC. but since thats kind of expensive, an alternative would be maybelline.

hey, signs that lead to cheating are vye notiveable. they are if he doesnt call so much anymore, if he doesnt say i love you that much anymore, and if he cant hangout with you because he has something one repeatedly. the famous line is "i have work".

I need help telling my mom that sometimes i am abused by my father for the stupidest reasons when she is at work. I feel very shy to tell her and i dont know if i tell her that the effect of me telling her will hurt my families future. i am the 2nd oldest of 4 kids and i am the one that gets hit by my dad the most. the other sumblings rarely are touched. my dad has very vast mood swings and once he ill be very nive nad a few minutes later he is going crazy.
i dont know what to tell my mom about this.

well, my dad tried to kill me by choking me with the necklace that i was wearing on his bed. i was scared to tell my mom, but i knew that it was the right thing to do. since my dad didnt live with us, i told her as soon as i got back from visiting my dad. she called the police and now i dont have to see him anymore.

there is this guy in my gym class that i really like. he is deff. popular and all the girls like r all over him i dont really have a shot but what ever. anyway we havent really talked much, my friend that i hang out with in gym is friends with him so i have some sort of connection. um any ideas how to talk to him and stuff, the only time i really see him is in gym, and he gets really into the games so i cant have like an hour long convo. with him. thanks so much!

dont rely on gym to be the only time that you can talk to this guy. if your shy have your friend find out what he thinks of you. also tell him that you think hes pretty cute. if your feeling bold that day, then find out what his screen name or myspace or email or number is, and then start talking to him. let him know that you think hes cute and ask him what he thinks of you. maybe a relationship will sprout? who knows?

im not quite sure, but i think a pita brea sanwich is just pita bread with the common salad things in it. when i say that, i mean like lettuce and chicken and stuff.

I absolutely love to act. whenever we'd do something that needed acting, i'd always be first to raise my hand, and sometimes i'd fool around with it too for jokes and stuff. Well, I dont really have much experience, and I'm 13 years old. (and a girl.) My school only had chorus (which I did) till our intermediate school, 5th and 6th grade, which had drama club. i tryed out for drama club, and it had been my dream, ever since i saw the 2 plays my sister's grades perfomed when i was little to get into it. and for those two years in that school, i didnt even get a part! only chorus! now, maybe i could have stayed to learn some acting skills from some of the kids who were there or something.. but i was just so mad that i wasnt even given a chance. i mean, i've been told that i'm a really good singer, and i think im a really good one too, and i'd just like to have a shot at it. anyway, now im in the 7th grade and i finally got a part in our broadway production "oliver!" and im like.. a workhouse kid & part of fagin's gang or something. its not the biggest part ever, like nancy or something, but im okay with that. who knows, maybe when im older and if i get to become like some bigshot actress, i could like totally rub it in their faces. so.. anyway, how can i get more involved with like.. theater? also my cousin whos like 7 years old. she is such a character! like all our relatives think she should have been on that bill cosby show called "kids say the darnest things" because shes just hilarious and has a true kiddy heart. shes also a good actress and maybe if we could find a place (i live in nj) for her to like.. learn acting from, that would be great for her, especially since shes so young.

This one kid, well back in may we dated.. and like he's one of a kind and theres no one else aroundhere like him. We got reallly close, but some stupid things happened and we broke up. I was so confused and mad i never called him backto work it out. I would do anything now to be able to go back and change things, im so love with the kid and i still like him even more than i used to when we were going out and i just cant see myself with no one else. Over the summer though i had a few hookups with other guys, and he went back out with his ex.. iwas so upset, but then when they brokeup we kinda started talkin again, but i didnt know he wanted a relationship againn, so whenwe hung out i didnt want to come off to strong, but ishould have because he told me later on that he thought we were gettin back together.. so anyways school starts, soon after he gets together with anothre girl, it doesnt last. Well now we have a class together, and yesterday we hung out like all day.. we had a funnn time, but then we went out somewhere and his ex was there. I was super jealous i kept thinkin he was lookin over there. But anyways, i love this kid.. so much, but right now i think he only sees me as a friend.I need to be with this kid, he like controls me, when we talk on good terms i couldnt be any happier, but when something happens or i come to realize he just wants to be friends, im a wreck. I dont erally want to talk to him about it, cause ive gave little clues that I still like him, and i dont want to go back to him and me feelin awkward in school and screw up our good friendship we have now. When we went out i could just tell he liked me more than anyone else, and he told me that, so theres gotta be something still there, maybe he thinks if we go out the same thing will happen again, and that was just jealousy and our friends and he didnt think i cared for him...ughh idk

well the only way to find out if he likes you as a friend or more is to ask him. just tell him that you like him A LOT and you were just wondering if he sees you as anything more then a friend. after he answers you, end it at there, unless he wants to continue to talk about it.

Well ive really grown to like this guy. Weve hung out a lot and theres something different about him. Im very anti-highschool kind of relationships even though I'm in hghschool . Im very mature and I hate how stupid and immature highschool guys are and how they use girls just to talk to their friends about it and just want a fling. Im into the kind of relationship where it takes at least 3 months to say I love you and where im actually the guys best friend and girlfriend at the same time. I want a guy where his future plans are the same as mine and we hvae the same friends. Well...it just happens to be that his best friend is having the same thing with my best friend as i am with him. The four of us are identical and were all best friends at the same time. Well every time we all hang out I grow to like this guy more and more and we both know we like eachother. Well the last few times we hung out...when we said goodbye we gave a hug and a kiss on the lips...not exactly a peck but not anything more than just a nice kiss on the lips. Well just last night we hung out and everythig was great then when i was leaving, we kissed but it was more of making out. Ive tried getting into a relationship with a lot of guys before but backed out before it all could start and kissing because alot of guys have screwed around with my head and heart so Ie never made out with anyone before. Im not picky, its just that i want to be serious when i find someone...but not in a prude or old ladyish way. So...he kissed me then it just sorta continued and kept going and like i felt his tongue in my mouth so i ssorta went in too and just did what i thought was right. I cant even explain it really. Now since I never did it before , I dont know if i did it right or not. It just sorta happened so fast and I just went with it as best as i could even though i could barely concentrate on what i was doing because i was like thinking all different things in my head besides what the hell i was doing. I dont know if i was doing it right and i just wanna know if there is a right or wrong was of how to make out or theres somethig you gotta think about or do when making out that i didnt do.

I just sorta did what I would do if i was kissing and just opened my mouth and kissed again and then added tongue and stuff. Im embarressed cause I know hes done it before and i hope i didnt do it wrong and did really bad.

it seems to me like you did everything just fine! there is no wrong way to makeout. you just go with the flow, like you did. :]

okay so for halloween, i was having a few friends over and we were going to go to six flags. but one of them couldnt go because she was already "going with her family" and 2 other ones bailed out the last minute to go with her. before we left to leave, i asked my friend why she invited the other 2 since we could've all gone together, and she flat out told me off and called me a b**** for not hanging out with them! now i admit that since high school started (we're freshman!) i've been busy. im in choir, dance, the school vb team, and soccer.. and well these 3, but mostly the 1st girl, really have nothing to do as far as extra-curricular. she's fat and often gives me trouble about how thin i am. i was very upset because we used to be real close, but i got over it and left ready to have fun. when we saw them there, they waved to the other girls and shot me dirty looks. now at school the main girl is getting people mad at me, but if i run into them or something, they ask me why im mad at them! i've found out that at least 6 people were mad at me, because this girl told them i was mad at them!! do you think she's just jealous or something? shes trying to make my life a living hell.. and it's only worked a tiny bit. she even told my boyfriend / bestfriend that im a slut, a b****, and possibly cheating on him!? well, i need advice on what to do, im trying to ignore it but i think i might be too shy to tell her off or anything! HELP!!!

get revenge. i know its not the right thing to do usually but in this case i think you should. give it right back to her. tell people that shes mad at them. try to break up her and her boyfriend, if she has one. do all the things possible to make her life a living hell. let her know that your the wrong person to mess with.

My boyfriend and I have been going out for a little more than a week. He has all his trust in me, (about flirting,etc.)but the thing is, I don't have many guy friends. And I'm guessing that's why he's not worried about me. Now on the other hand, he has a bunch of female friends, and he went out with like, more than half of them, and because we don't go to the same school, it kind of makes me a little paranoid. We got into an argument yesterday about the whole trust issue, and he keeps telling me I'm paranoid. I do trust him, I really do, but I'm normally paranoid about these kinds of things anyway. i had the same issue with my boyfrined. actually i had the exact same thing up to every single detail. its kinda weird i feel like i asked this question lol. anways what happened with us is that i thought to myself if i cant trust him then we shouldnt be togehter. you have to trust your boyfriend. its the key to a relationship. if you cant do it then you should break up. if he does cheat on you youll start to catch on. there are veyr easy ways to tell if he is or not. such as not calling as much and saying i lvoe you not as much.

i get nervous really easily. like when im talking to a guy i like... or someone puts me on the spot. my face usally turns bright red over nothing and i start sweating and shaking relaly bad. when i tell my friends this... there like just relax and dont be nervouse. but they odnt undertsand that I CANTT!! i try to think im not nervous but it always shows by my face being red or me sweating... how are some ways to get it under control?

you should go see your doctor about that. its normal to be nervous and have the butterflies and even possibly turn a little red. its not normal to start shaking and sweating alot. ask your doctor whats up.

so this guy, let's call him Max, has been one of my best guy friends for a while. We text all the time and we both work together every weekend. I've always had a thing for him, and we kind of flirt back and forth a little, but he has a g/f that he's been with for almost a year. A week ago he told me that he really likes his g/f (let's call her Sam), but he also has "feelings" for me. We kissed once, but we both felt bad about him cheating on Sam so we decided to just be friends. But now he's starting to flirt with me again. We're gonna be hanging out with Sam and some other friends next week, and I'm kind of afraid of seeing them together, when he and I are kinda going behind her back. And I feel so so so so bad about it, so please don't say I'm being a slut. But I really like him. He's so awesome.

So what should I do? Wait for them to break up? Make a move? If I talk to him, what should I say/ how should I bring it up?

I'm so lost and caught up in him, and it really sucks. Please help.

well cheating on the girl isnt the way to go. its going to hurt her if she finds out. you should have a talk wiht him and say i really like you but i dont feel right having this kind of relationship with you when your seeing osmeone else. explain to him that he has to chose between you and his girlfrined. if he picks his girlfriend then youll just have to wait until they break up.

I have windows XP and those name things lol. So, I have the Sims 2 for the computer, and its worked fine, but then all the sudden, now it doesn't. I can get to the part where the family is loading, but then it loads forever and I can never get passed that part. It works on my sister's name, so I don't get why it won't work on mine. It wouldn't be that big of a deal that it only works on hers, but i downloaded objects and theres two completly different games. lol. Oh, and I downloaded the patch. Probably not correctly, but even after that it still worked, so I don't understand. Any ideas? Thanks in advace!

uninstall it and then reinstall it. if that doesnt work then just buy the sims2 from a store.

Last year one of my friends moved far away, a couple changed to different school and i dont see them much anymore, and another i just grew apart from and stopped talking to her. That was alot of loses at once, but i had other friends so it wasnt to hard. A month or so ago my boyfriend broke up with me and then there was lots of "drama" and i lots another good majority of my friends that i dont only talk to in school. So it left me with just one good true friend. but lately i feel like im losing her too. We have been getting in fights, not agreeing and hardly hanging out. She goes out a ton with a group of friends i use to be in, but lately have seemd to just be excluded from. I always try to make plans to do things but poeple are always bussy or say no. Its making me really sad and i've been crying alot, and people who know me know idont cry im always a happy person. The only person i have is my one friend and she is the one who moved. Its pathetic that i have stayed best friends and grew closer with the one friend that moved and i cant even keep the friends near me. This is gettin long so ill get to my question. What should i do. With the one girl who i feel is leaving me out, i dont wanna talk to her and have her get mad and then have nobody. Pleasee help me any advice! i need it.

i would suggest talking to her. it might make things worse but i think thats it worth the shot. if you continue not talking to her about it you guys might just grow apart even more. keeping all your feelings botteled yup insdide doenst help out the situation either.

My friends have told me that you don't need to study for driver's ed..that it's all common sense and just plain easy.

Should I take their advice and not study? I've asked friends from other states and schools and they've all said that studying is pointless, but no one I know has had my driver's ed teacher before.

well i would suggest just knowing the basics. ask someone who has already gone threw the test and knows what is expected. have them prepare you. dont stress over it too much tho.

i had an infection in my eye and now it got transferred onto only one of my contacts (the one that was in the eye with the infection). well now the infection in my eye went away so i put my contacts back in and then my eye hurt again.

i've realized that the infection is now stuck on my contact and it is new so i can't just throw it away and start a new one so i was wondering if there is any type of cleaner that is safe to put on my contact lens to get the infection out?

if you dont want to get new contacts all together, just replace the contact that has the infection in it. you cant get the infection away for sure and if you keep using it then it will just give you the infection again.
