The most important thing is for you to be there for her. You have NO idea how much your sister needs you right now (even if she doesnt admit to it). Talk to your family without your sister there and explain to them the kind of problem your sister is in and the fact that she needs help immediatly. Your sister needs to go and get theray/rehab, especially if she's in denial. Being a drug addict is SUCH a serious matter where she needs professional help. You or your familly cannot simply ignore it and hope that it would just go away, because most likely, shes not strong enough to overcome this on her own. You REALLY need to get her professional help and family help and make sure your family is there for her!! She needs to be sure that she has a support system to back her up.

For personal statements college really want to see why youde be a good asset to their school..I wouldnt want to waste your time writing about something that everyone else would write about (for example, a death in the family)...put yourself in the college admission staff's shoes..what would YOU want to read from students? For my personal statement, I wrote about me coming to America and my best friend helping me to assimilate to the new culture. My friend wrote about meeting a little boy with cancer that helped inspire her to major in pre-medicine. Write about somethin that inspired you to want to go into journalism.

They sell certain-dri basically anywhere..I use it and it's a miracle worker!! I do warn you that it makes you kind of itchy in the beginning but you get used to it, it's seriously so helpful!

Yes, it's basically word of mouth. In order to legally charge someone for possession/use of drugs, the courts would need to see the physical evidence, which includes the actual police report that has the drug found. So for example when Lindsay Lohan says she tried pot, they cant just arrest because they havent actually seen her use pot, for all they know she can be lying for publicity (even though we all know that it's not the case)

You need to start exercising because that builds muscle, which weighs more than fat/skin...Once you start gaining muscle, then you will gain weight. If youre really not into exercising, then simply eat complex carbs (such as pasta, whole grains, wheat bread)..NOT the bad carbs (such as chips, white bread, candy, and etc)..these will help as well

I have the same problem bc my parents are always like we dont want anything..so I take them to a really nice restaurant downtown Chicago (i know you might not live in the city but im sure any nice placed will do) and just pay for their dinner..we get to spend time together and your parents LOVE that!

I think masturbating for guys is totally normal and natural, even if you're dating someone. There is nothing wrong with it and your girlfriend shouldnt have such a problem with that and neither should you because it's totally normal!

AIDS/HIV--some of the early symptoms are flu like symptoms that wont go away
HERPES--painful sores on your genitals OR on your lips depending if it's herpes simplex 1 or 2
GENITAL WARTS--warts on your genitals
For all these you can take medicine to reduce the amount out outbrakes but they are viral, which means they cant be cured

You're still pretty young and its not uncommon for your age to feel "weird" around different sexes because you havent yet figured out who you really are yet..
I would suggest experimenting with her, maybe starting out with just kissing...if you dont feel comfortable, stop right away because that uncomfortableness must ruin your friendship. If you dont feel "right" at all, then maybe it's just a stage youre going through trying to figure out who you are.

Two questions. My mother has offered to put my girlfriend on the pill. (aka birth control) And i believe they are starting the process some time next week. Two questions i have about it.
1) Is it true that the ultraviolet radiation from a tanning bed deactivates the pill and doesnt allow it to serve the purpose its made for?
2) What are the chances of a girl whos on the pill getting pregnant? I mean of course if were going till we both finish, i'd use a condom but what about pulling out and all that?

1) NOT TRUE..I dont know where you heard that but that's not true..I go tanning ALL the time and my gyno has never said anything to me of that sort
2) The pill is about 99.8% affective IF used correctly (taken regularly and at the same time everyday)

I asked a question about the pill (birth control) and found out it was 99.9% effective. Does that mean the guy could cum inside the girl and even then there would only be a .1% chance? or is the 99.9% chance with using a condom and pulling out? (link)

I have a lot of friends that dont use a condom while on the pill (and im in no way suggesting you do the same) but if taken correctly ( you dont miss any pills and always take them at the same time ) it works 99.9% as your choice of birth control.

Sex is SUCH a personal decision, dont base it on your friends, parents, or yes, even your religious beliefs..its about you and your partner. Yes, do it if you absolutely feel comfortable and there's not a single negative thought in your head. Your first time will always be in your memory so make sure it's with someone you want to remember for a long time. It's really tough to stick to your morals in the society we live in today but if you can do it, then more power to you. But sex should really be about what YOU feel is right, now what someone/something tells you is right.

There is no "legal" age to have sex or to buy condoms UNLESS you're having sex with a minor (under 18, in some states its under 17). Good luck!

I was at the mall with a friend of mine and we met up with this girl he knows from school. so, Ive recently met new friends..and they are good people like amazing people. And ive been spending most of my time with these people, and Ive been "changing" my appearance and i know it too. I like who I am, but my parents are all worried. Im not a bad person, I have new friends who im influenced by. How exactly are you changing?? Just wondering..try bringing your "new" friends over to your house so your parents can see how they act around you and if they really are that great, your parents will see that too. Im sure your parents are just not used to the "new" you and you just gotto show them that it's not a big deal and you arent turning into something horrible

i'm not quite sure what to do. i'm a sophmore, and i was kinda casually dating this junior. and i heard from several people that he was just leading me on. so i asked him about it and he said he was, but he had a reason. he said he liked me, and that he still kinda does, just not like he used to, and he thought the feeling would come back so he just didn't ever tell me. now here comes the tough part. what do i do? part of me wants to change his mind, make him see my true worth and make him want me again, because there's still hope because he still likes me. or should i just move on and completely forget about him? just say what you would do in this situation. also, if you would want to change his mind and make him want you again, how would you do it?

this is a toughy only bc ive been there SO many times and it sucks..I'de say really listen to your heart bc deep down you always know..if you're sure that you can change his mind then go for it bc u dont want to ask the "what ifs" later on. Do something exciting with him, like plan a date to do something he likes that you guys havent done before but BE YOURSELF bc u dont want to pretend to be something youre not in order to please him.
