Hi, I'm 14, soon to be 15 in 13 days, female.
My family has recently become poor. I've never been a person to shop at Hollister or anywhere that expensive, buttt, according to my mom and dad, we're almost in debt, and we can't pay our monthly bills. We can't afford my school clothes, so I'm having a yard sale.
My dad, tonight, just told me that we might not have enough to send me to Drivers Ed this September. I got really upset, and he still has to look into the finances.
I told him I was angry because we were poor, and he said whatever and left. What do I do about all of this? I think I hurt my dad's feelings, and yet I'm literally crying because we don't have enough money for anything anymore, I can't stop crying.
... please help. What should I do? My birthday will probably be the worst ever. (link)

Sorry to hear about your predicament. At this time, you really need to be putting things into perspective. Thank god you have your house and your family together. I have a job where i make $100-$150 per week and i'm also 14. My mom doesn't like to go crazy with the school clothes shopping, so she gives me a small amount and am in a position where I can pay for my own clothes. I actually kind of like it, ha. Again, if Driver's Ed means so much to you, you should get a job. Your parents are under a ton of stress right now and i'm certain that it doesn't make them feel great when they have to tell you that they cannot pay for things. I pay for almost everything I want (which isn't a lot) and I have a sense of independance.

I can't wait to start high school! I'm a fashionable girl, but I want to vamp up and mature my style a bit for a new look. Any tips on whats in, cheap steals, or anything you just personally love? I usually put my own spin on things with funky shoes or belts, but my styles getting a bit old.

Okay well my dad told me that next school [starting this august] if i get straight A's he will buy me a car. Considering I'll be 16 in February thats pretty exciting. Well my only problem is I'm not that smart. Last report card i got C's and B's oh...and i failed math =[. So clearly I'm not like brightest crayon in the box. I didn't really try last year though so i think I could do better...but not straight A better.. Last year I was to preoccupied with everything else but this year i really want to do well. He said if i get 1 B the deals off...so the pressure is ON. I REALLY want this you have no idea!!
So can anyone give me tips or anything on how i can get straight A's? (link)

Read your lesson prior to the class. You don't have to study it and memorize it, just read it to have a notion of the topic in class, and to prepare the questions for the teacher to clarify.
Take good class notes. Don't write everything the teacher says, just enough bullets or headlines to remind you of the class discussions and significant points.
After the lecture or class, always spend approximately 20 minutes reading your class notes, and reading the material from the book. This is crucial as books are usually written by subject experts and are more extensive and better prepared than the teacher's materials presented during class.
Do the exercises at the end of the book. This is the best way to prove to yourself that you understand the material.
Find a quiet place, like your room, lock the door, and imagine you are the teacher explaining the subject to a student. This is also a good way to measure your understanding of the material. If you can participate in tutoring programs in school, this serves the same purpose.
Be proactive in participating in study groups. To deepen your understanding of a particular subject, it is sometimes beneficial to hear other people's perspectives and explanations. This sometimes helps clarify topics that we may misunderstand or not fully understand.
Never stay up late the night before a test. If you are not prepared by the prior evening, chances are you will not get an A, and pulling an all-nighter will only tire you and hamper your focus during the test.
The human body learns best at specific times (usually in the morning). Be sure you save this time for studying and internalizing important class materials, and reserve the other time for less pensive activities as homework or socializing. Avoid studying when you are tired. In general, you should try to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night.
Pay attention.
Spend a reasonable amount of time on your assignments. Assignments done at the last minute or poorly will not help you much. Also, they won't reflect your skills as a student and probably will lower your grade.
Do your homework. A lot of your mark is based on whether you do your homework and whether you have a good attitude. Chances are, if you do your homework, you'll do better on tests, too. Doing homework does not mean only doing assignments that are going to be collected or graded. For example if the teacher asks for you to read a section of the textbook, there is a reason for it, and doing all of your homework includes doing every assigned task and taking notes on reading whether it is required or not. This is the most important step to achieving an A in the class. Since you will always be prepared for class, pop-quizzes, and it will significantly decrease the amount of time you need to study. For example, if you do this in mathematics class, you will often find that you will not need more than a 10-minute review of the formulas/concepts and that's it!
If you didn't study that much last night or want to do a quick reveiw, try reviewing your notes in homeroom or before the teacher starts teaching and when you have free time in school and at home.
Certain songs bring back memories so try thinking really hard about something while a song is playing so when someone sings that song it'll make you think about that certain thought you had at the time.

I'm curious about something. Well being a girl I know that we like to talk to our female friends about guys we like. So is it the same for guys? Do they talk to their close male friends about girls they like? The reason I"m asking is because they is a guy from work who has a crush on me (who I like back). Well in the last couple of shifts I've noticed that this other guy (who is friends with him) has been staring at me and then looking away when I look at him and his been being alot nicer to me then normal. So I think they have been talking about me. DO you think I'm right? (link)

It most definitely depends on the guy. (while practically all girls talk about this sort of thing) I have 2 good guy friends. One said that he rarely would and it's just too weird. He likes to keep that stuff to himself. On the other hand, my other guy friend always confides in his friends about girls and everything. The more outgoing one will not tell his friends, but the more quiet one will tell his friends, which i thought was interesting. hmm.
If i were to think about it, i am pretty sure that these two guys have been talking about you, going on what you told me.

im not sure about the homepage, but i have a mac desktop and my sister has a laptop. Mac, although there is an aim download for mac computers, does not like software originally intended for a "regular" computer like dell. When i first got my computer, aim did that to me a lot. It would sign me off practically ever 1-5 minutes. ANNOYING ! But after a few months (2-3) it happends less. Now i rarely get signed off. i think it is because the computer is getting used to the software. My sister's laptop did the same thing, but hers has gotten better too. There's nothing to really do but wait it out!

i have realllyy bad arm pit sweating. i use this stuff, and it really does work.. i don't sweat at all. but the thing is it burns for like an hour straight after i put it on. i don't mind since it's actually working, but i hate the burning. does anyone else have sweaty arm pits? what do you use? does it burn? I do sweat in social situations and stuff like that. I use Certaindri anti-perspirent. It's more of an itchy feeling, actually. When i itch my armpit area, then it starts to burn. It also burns if i just shaved and then put it on. hope i helped.

I have one.
I gained ten pounds, over the past couple of months. And being only 5'2. Most of that weight has found itself hanging around in my middle.
Don't get me wrong I kinda like it.
It's very doughy. Makes me look a lot rounder and softer.
But do some like a little extra jiggle?

i thought about that and i thought..it's true that i couldnt care less if a guy had a 6 pack or something...so i guess its the same with guys.
hes a good looking guy, so i think it disproves that good looking guys are jerks or super shallow, even though it may be true for some.

uh i am guilty of saying it randomly too.
i just say it for fun...and i have no idea why. i also do the stupid hand motion like you're throwing a basketball. it's a catchy song, so i'm guessing thats why they say it, but it usually means you are good at basketball. i went to a basketball game and this guy made a really nice shot and people shouted BAWLIN!

Is there anything that i may have around my house that i could put on my hair over night to make it really soft and silky tomarrow? you know how some peoples hair is so soft and shiny, but not oily looking, and when you touch it it feels soft? well is there anything i can put on my hair tonight that would make mine as close to that as possible in the morning? It can be like maybe some hair products, but i probabally wouldnt have them at home because i need it for tomarrow, or it could be any kind of food or food juices if you know what i mean. just anything and everything.

this will really work.
take olive oil and put it in a cup. (amount of oil varies with length of hair. have enough to cover all your hair)
put the olive oil in the mocrowave for 30-45 seconds to make it warm
put it in your hair. (hair is DRY)
wrap your hair in ceran wrap.
put a towel in a dryer and let it get hot.
wrap your hair in the towel (with the ceran still in your hair)
wait for it to cool off
shampoo it twice. do not condition it.
blow dry and it will be silky soft!

I need red(preferably liquid) eyeliner for prom. The only place i can find with red eyeliner is Hottopic. I'd rather not have to order it online, but if it's necessary, I can.

italian...if your school offers it. i take it and i love it. it's similar to spanish so you can pick up on the language quickly, but it is still a very beautiful language. honestly, i lost a lot of my spanish because of the similarity, but i wouldnt change my choice to take it.

I feel really awkward when people ask me about my religion and stuff because i'm agnostic and don't think there is a way to prove if god is real or not. I really don't want to tell my friends that because most of them are really religious and i'm scared they wouldn't like me if I did. Why do people think it's such a big deal if you don't believe in god? I don't know if I should tell them or not. (link)

personally i do not think i believe in god either...but i'd like to believe that there is some higher power. i don't classify myself as anything because religion isn't a huge part of my life, but if it is a big part of your life i think you should. i have no idea why people think it is such a big deal because in my opinion it isn't. people can believe what they want and i think that people are annoying when they try to push their religion or what they believe on you. tell them if it's something important to you.

up getting married and not divorcing.The percentage is now decreasing and soon will be less than 1% according to statistics.
My grandparents started dating when they were freshmen, so i don't know how reliable all these statistics are...

in the halls look confident and it doesn't hurt to be walking with another guy...even if it's just a friend. Smile and hold his gaze for just a second. You have to look away first. basically, you have the power then, and you leave him interested to know more and be around you. When you walk past him, it wouldn't hurt to lightly brush his shoulder or get close to him, but don't make it blatantly obvious that you are trying to get his attention and run flat into him. Wear a nice smelling perfume....i asked my guy friend how he notices certain girls in the hallway and he said that scent or smell is one of the most intriguing things about a girl along with how she looks..(confident...happy..physically put together)
