my cat has never used a litter box she has a cat door and has always done her business outside for the past week we have smelled an odor in the house
found it under my husbands desk had to cut the carpet and pad out. she must be pooping outside havent found any inside. shes about 12 years old. whats wrong with her (link)
|
Not just ANY wet (canned) food either, but a premium brand. Do this for a few weeks at least, if you can't afford to permanently feed a good food.
Cats will always use a litter box if they can, unless something is wrong. So very often, what causes this type of behavior is a urinary tract infection and good brands of food have the low ash content and other things that help with this.
It may also be necessary to visit the vet with your cat to first check things out, and assuming that it is a UTI, get it under control with medication.
Good luck with it.

Offer him $10,000,000 dollars, that your dying uncle, the king, has to get rid of before the government takes it.

When boys look at your lips when you talk does thar mean he wants to kiss you
(link)

When I was younger, I had trouble looking people, especially girls, directly in the eyes when I spoke to them. I outgrew that in time.
I'm back to watching lips more closely these days as it seems the style for young women to speak in a nasally, gravelly voice and I often struggle to figure out what in their world their fingernails-on-a-blackboard speech is all about.
Also, you may be speaking with someone whose hearing isn't good, or who is having trouble understanding due to background noise, etc.
Last but not least, yeah, the person may be thinking about planting a wet one on you.

I am a movie addict, I love watching DVD's. I just promised myself tonight that every Saturday night is going to be me time to sit down and watch a movie. It will be my little tradition. However, when doing that, I am limited to just the movies I own. So, does anybody know of any websites where I can legally download movies for free and keep them on my computer for future reference if I want to see it again? It would mean the world to me if someone could find what I am asking for and let alone, have it work.
Thanks for the answers! God bless (link)

I absolutely recommend NetFlix. They have a variety of plans, and they're all pretty cheap. For just about what you'd spend going out to a single movie, you can have a month's worth of all the movies that you want.
They have unlimited streaming only, unlimited streaming with one DVD or Blu-Ray as often as you can watch and return for another, etc. Check them out and see what you think.
I'm sure there are sites for free Indie type movies, and some of those are pretty good. To do this legally, though, you're going to have to spend a little money
The best way to watch streaming NetFlix is with a TV that supports the Netflix app, or with one of the Netflix enabled devices, like a Roku. All the information is on the Netflix site, or though Googling. You can also watch on a computer, but won't get the same quality video.

whats the similarities/differences between heroin and cigarettes? i mean they both are addicting drugs.. they both can kill you.. what is the difference? why is one illegal and one is not? that pisses me off... :/ (link)
|
I don't care for the cigarettes / heroin comparison; heroin is seriously dangerous and bad.
However, how about this one: why is alcohol - the destroyer of lives and families - legal, but pot isn't. Have you EVER heard of someone getting high and starting a fight, driving his car and killing someone or himself? We hear about drunks doing that and more all day every day...
That's not rhetorical, I know the answer. It's the alcohol lobbyists that pay enough to keep the politicians fat and happy. Let a well-funded pot lobby step up, (well funded enough to pay out more than the booze lobby), and, hey, pot is suddenly legal. Guaranteed.

I'm asking this question primarily out of bemused interest, as someone from the UK.
Why are Americans so obsessed with the royal wedding?
I understand why so many British people are interested in it, because it the royal family are an important British institution but I don't understand the American fascination. (link)
|
American here: My interest level is in the negative numbers. I can't figure out why in the world the British would make such a big deal out of it, and I have NO idea why it would be on any of our TV stations, never mind most of them.

Hi,
I want to read a book on Ayurveda but it is not available. I have tried to search on a lot of websites but neither the print nor an ebook edition is available. But the book is there on a lot of websites for free download. Would it be unethical to download when a book is not available by any other means ? (link)
|
This is an answer that's not really an answer... sort of. I think that only you can decide what's ethical for you, depending on your own moral compass. (Although, there are PLENTY of people who would be happy - thrilled - to tell you how to think and how to act.)
I bought a lifetime license for a software utility and one day they changed their idea of what lifetime means and wanted payment for major version upgrades. For me, it's the right thing to buy, but there are going to be exceptions, like what what happened to me and the other lifetime license holders.
I guess what I'm saying is that each individual has to decide what's right for them, and that this moral code can't be carved in stone because there could be circumstances that might change your thoughts in a particular situation.

This ''Sleepers'' movie is great but after watching it at school , our teacher gave us an assignment to finish and this homework says: Why did they call the movie The Sleepers ??
So please if anyone got any idea why...
-Thank You-
(link)
|
google.com, Wikipedia.org and IMBD.com. There, you now have the tools to do your own research.
You might include "sleeper agent" in your search.
HINT: Kids messing around, jailed and terribly abused, YEARS LATER run into the guy who was mainly responsible for their pain and it's payback time. Sleepers...
Good luck with it.
EDIT: OK, wow. You rate my response a 2 when I give you all the information and tools that you need to actually - here's a novel thought - do the work yourself. If that hint that I provided wasn't enough, then answering this homework question is the least of your worries. (In my opinion, of course.)

i am having problems signing in to my hotmail, i have forgoten the password as i have this email address fora very long time i dont know wat to do (link)
|
If you go to Hotmail.com it has a link right there saying "Forgot your Password?"
That MAY do the trick for you, but I'm guessing that you might have to sign up Windows Live to get into your account. Not sure, but they should be able to help.
Good luck with it.

it operates on windows 7. I've tried going to control panel, and where it's supposed to say 'appearance and personalization' and instead it just says 'appearance' and there is no way to change it that way. I have also tried clicking on images and hitting 'set as background', it asks me if I'm sure, I confirm and it still doesn't happen. Neither does right clicking on my desktop, it offers me a number of options to personalize but none have to do with changing the background. any ideas? (link)
|
It somewhat makes a difference which version of Windows 7 came with your netbook. I suspect that it may be Basic, but...
Click the Windows Orb, (the artist formerly known as the Start button), and right there with the cursor flashing in the "Search Programs and Files" box, type in winver and hit Enter.
Please report back with what version you have. Should be right at the top of the informational window that pops up.

I just got a new Boxer puppy. Shes 3 and a half months old, and she used to live with her two parents and 5 other dogs which she got to play with everyday. So I know it's hard for her to not always have someone to play with. Today, (Sunday) I spent the day with her and she was mostly outside with me or sleeping on my lap inside. The only issue is that my mom doesn't want her walking around inside the house (but when she's not home, I let her) because she can't deal with the puppy peeing and pooping all over. So, sometimes, we put her crate in the garage which is heated (we don't keep cars in there.)She also sleeps in there at night. I put her in there and tied her leash to her cage so she could move around a few feet surrounding her cage. I also put toys and a bowl of water. 15 minutes passed, and she was still howling and barking. It really bothers me, and as much as I'd like to let her keep sleeping on my lap, I'm incredibly tired, and I'm in high school, so I have work to do. I don't know if she's barking because I'm teaching her wrong, or if she misses her puppy friends. I have no idea how to make her okay with being in her crate. The first two days that we had her, she was fine in her crate and slept after whimpering a little bit, but now she is full out barking and howling for much longer than normal. Help???? (link)
|
To add to what has already been said, at only 3.5 months old, she's a baby. Being locked in a crate in the garage is just about the last place she wants to be. Dogs are social animals, locking them away from the family pretty much makes me ask why you have a dog in the first place...
This was information that I posted for someone who had adopted a 2 year old dog that needed house training. Hopefully this information will help you too:
I was a sentry dog handler in the Army and then attended the Mandelyn Kennels school for training in Bakersfield, CA. (Before the shooting that took the lives of the owners, Ray Marcois and his wife Diane.)
I ended up working in IT for a living, but the following process has proven effective for our two dogs and those of family members. It's simple, but requires that someone be attentive throughout the day during the time that training is taking place.
It should be noted that this is assuming that there is nothing physically wrong with your dog such as sickness or a "plumbing" issue that prevents her from successful housebreaking.
- A crate that is large enough to allow her free movement will be required, or an enclosure of some sort that will be able to keep her confined to a space that allows comfortable movement - the ability to easily turn around and stand, and food and water bowls, but not much more.
Make sure that she's comfortable with a pet bed, or soft blankets and has a toy(s). A radio softly playing nearby is nice, if possible. (Nothing crazy, you want soothing music for this.)
- She'll be in the crate/enclosure all the time until training has been completed.
- At two years old, her internals are fully developed, so you should be able to start with every 2 hours. NIGHT time will be addressed a bit later in this...
You should be able to increase the time, but you'll want to keep it around the 2 hour mark to increase the interaction, which will help expedite the training.
- Every 2 hours, let her out of the crate and walk her to the door, sticking with a key phrase. We always used "out." For example, "Annie, do you want to go OUT? Annie is going OUT.'
Pause at the door to get her excited about going out. Be kind of nutty about it; 'Annie, want to go OUT!!! Yeah, let's go OUT!!
You get the idea. You want to get her excited about getting to the door and getting out. The more she wants to get out there, the more she'll be frustrated at your slowness to open the door and will bark, scratch or both.
When the dog is actually outside and starts to bathroom, make sure to proclaim, over and over throughout, that 'ANNIE is OUT, good girl is OUT.'
- When she's done, LOTS of praise, a little play time, vigorous petting, whatever your dog enjoys most.
- Once that's done, back into the crate to be repeated throughout the day.
- At least 3 hours before bedtime, remove food and water. At bedtime, not too much before, make sure to go OUT again, following the same "Annie is OUT' chant. (Grin)
- Once all of that is done, into the crate for the night.
- Get an early start and let her out of the crate to go OUT. Especially at first, as she's not used to exercising control. This is not a good time to sleep in!
Our Golden Retriever was trained and never had an accident after within 3 days. Our Black Lab mix had to be watched a little more, but was completely trained in about 1 week.
I hope this helps. It can be kind of a pain during the training, but it does go pretty quick and is obviously worth the effort.

A friend recently bought me a voodoo doll from New Orleans. I live in New Zealand. How do I safely get rid of it? I don't want to throw it in the bin incase something bad happens. I was thinking of just putting it in the post and sending it somewhere but I am scared of something happening too. What should I do? Please help. (link)
|
Wow, ok, here's the proper method:
On the next full moon, which will be Monday April 18th at 02:44 GMT, you must take the doll to the middle of a large, open field. There, at the top of your lungs, you should shout "what kind of nut believes in this nonsense?!"
After you've done that as many times as it takes to get the point, you walk to the nearest garbage can and drop the ridiculous thing in.
Once this ceremony is over, drive to town and get yourself an ice cream cone of your favorite flavor.
I understand your post here, but voodoo dolls? Really? The only 'power' they have is over the weak-minded who can be controlled by suggestion.
Best Regards...

Hello to all and thank you for your interest; this question is open to all! :)
I would like to know your brutally honest opinion about girls with dread locks.
Hot? Gross? Don't care? Let me know!
Thanks for your time!
Blessings :) (link)
|
I would absolutely not look twice at a girl who had done that with her hair. If it was someone that I already knew and liked, and she did it, then maybe I could get past it...
Another thing, part of which is why I gag to think about it, is that I don't believe they wash dread locks. That is beyond gross. (I'd read or heard that some time ago and don't know it for sure.)
A woman's hair is pretty important to most guys. My wife has shoulder length hair and there is nothing in the world like having her head on my chest with that soft, fantastic smelling hair. Dread locks? Shudder...

Recently, I've gotten really bad writers' block. I mean, I get some ideas, but for some reason, I get too bored or lazy to write it and it's really upsetting me because writing is basically my reason for living. I adore making up my own stories and characters, you know, my own worlds. I've tried writing prompts and actually forcing myself to just buckle down and write, but when I reread what I wrote, it sounds absolutely horrible and I have to erase it all. When I go back and read things I've posted online, it makes me sad, but happy at the same time because I used to be perfect at coming up with things and now it's just wrong.
It's kind of upsetting me. Is there anyway I can change this and get back to my old style again? (link)
|
A few things can help. Everybody is different, so you'll have to experiment a bit and see what works for you...
It often helps to simply write. Anything. Write a story about what you did yesterday, the antics of a pet, some crazy thing that a friend did.
On the flip side of that coin, try stepping back and NOT writing. Read a book, do a crossword puzzle, take a walk, visit with family or friends. Maybe even very limited television, although I feel that can be mind-numbing and take you in the wrong direction.
How are you physically and mentally? Are you eating right and getting enough sleep. Especially getting enough sleep. Look closely at your diet; in a rush we may grab something that isn't the best fuel for our engine.
As always, take notes and develop outlines. There are certainly times when the words just flow, but more commonly, they have to be coaxed a bit. Try to have paper and pen, smart-phone or whatever that you can "scribble" your thoughts on. Many times, it's those random thoughts from which the best writing is developed.
I hope that this helps you. It's easy for me to say, but try not to dwell on the situation. Stressing yourself over what is assuredly a temporary difficulty won't help to improve it for you. Best Regards.

Anyone have experience converting to the new FireFox 4 browser? I remember how "interesting" thing were when FireFox 3 first came out.
Should I upgrade now? Are the bugs worked out? Should I wait for a few minor releases first?
Your opinions would help.
(link)
|
You may want to wait for a bit until the extension developers have had a chance to catch up. Or, go into it knowing that all your extensions may not work with the new version...
Beyond that, I would do a MOZBackup of your current installation and give it a shot. If you're not happy with the results, you can always restore the backup.
NOTE: MOZBackup also backs up Thunderbird. Maybe other Mozilla apps, but I only use Firefox and Thunderbird, so don't know for sure.

I've been on the computer a lot since age 8, and I'm 17 now. What influence has it had on you? I feel like a computer addict.. but I went on the computer a lot because I didn't have much friends to really hang out with and everything. And now it's just an escape, really, after really stressful days. But it's caused me to procrastinate to an extreme degree, these past few years. But I went on fun sites over the years like Neopets, GaiaOnline, Tumblr, etc. And played many games like Sims, MapleStory, GunBound, and Habbo Hotel.. from many of their beginnings. Like I was on MS since Beta. I don't play games anymore, and now I mainly go on forums, look up news articles, watch shows and movies online, and use tumblr and facebook.
Its scary to ask, but is it sad that a lot of my life was shaped by the internet? and am i the only one? what does it mean? what are the positives and drawbacks? (link)
|
It sounds as though you're using the Internet for just the things that it SHOULD be used for! There is so much 'out there' that is good. Being an old codger, I remember a time of NO pcs, bulletin boards that you connected to by 1200 baud modems that we upgraded the next speedier model as they came along, text-based Internet access and then finally, the interface that we're used to these days.
I often wonder how in the world (back in the good old days) I found the torque spec for a Kawasaki axle nut, who the heck that actor is in whatever movie, or made acquaintances with people all over the world.
I guess I've spoken to some of the positives that I can think of. The drawbacks would be not taking the time to get outdoors for a bicycle ride, hike in the woods or park... that kind of stuff. You can really expand your horizons with just a few clicks and enjoy what the online world has to offer, but you need to also make room for family.
Lastly, I'm almost 55 and after a long tough day, (I work in a busy IT department), one of the best ways for me to wind down is come home and play a game for a bit, read some of my favorite forums - answer some questions with the hope of helping someone! (Grin) After 30 minutes or so, I'm fit company for my wife.
I think that you're every bit as normal as the rest of us, that you have nothing to worry about.
Best regards.

Okay so he booked a flight to Australia to be with me for 5 weeks, but to get to the airport(In L.A), he had to drive from Kansas. On google maps it says it should take 1 day, 14 hours...but it took him a little over 2 days...I trusted him then. he arrived back in L.A after his trip to me and he had to drive back to Detroit from L.A, the next day. Before he left his phone was cut off due to him not paying his phone bill while being over here in Australia so the last call i got from him was when he JUST arrived at L.A Airport on Thursday morning 3 am(my time)(it was about 9 am wednesday his time) so as of now, it's been 4 days since I heard from him...And google maps said it should take the same time to drive from L.A to detroit(As it said for KS to L.A, which is 34 hours) and I highly doubt his rests would be THAT long.
His friend told me if she were to drive from L.A to Detroit(Since she lives in L.A), it would take her about a week due to traffic, stopping to eat, stopping to rest, fill up gas, etc) but I know my boyfriend and he knows how paranoid I get when I don't hear from him for a certain amount of time so he'd find some way to contact me even for a minute to let me know and it upsets me that he didn't get on a computer SOMEWHERE to let me know his phone was cut off, instead i had to find out from his friend which by then he had already left for his road trip back. I'm freaking out. I want to trust him and his friend when she said he'll call me as soon as possible but I can't help but think he dropped in to see one of his ex's, since to drive from L.A to each of their places is the same driving time(a little over a day)
I can't help it. When he was here, we had some issues and we broke up a few times, but before he left, he assured me everything between us was okay and that he can't wait to get me over there so we can be together. we sorted out our problems a few days before he left, like really fixed everything and he seemed really happy with me again but I don't know if he meant it or not and I'm having massive headaches and I can't sleep because i keep thinking he should be back home by now!! It shouldn't take 4 days to drive somewhere that should take only 1 day and a half, excluding the rest, eat, etc but none of them should take long enough that his trip is going for almost a week :(
and also, my 15 yr old brother just told me he's going to move to another state to live with his friend because he can't stand it in this state with mum(it's a long complicated story) and I have no one to talk to about it and I feel like the 2 main people in my life are leaving me behind and i feel helpless to do anything about it since i can't even get in touch with my boyfriend(my brother and him are close). It's just too hard for me to do it alone :( (link)
|
If you don't trust him, then you probably should not pursue this relationship. If he IS doing the right thing, but you're accusing and wondering and questioning, that will, without a doubt, eventually drive him away or cause him to say 'well, I might as well find someone to fool around with since I'm being accused of it anyway.'
On the drive part it: Google maps says that it should take 1 day and 14 hours, but he's in trouble with you because it took 2 days?! Wow, that's a pretty tight leash. Many years ago I drove from Fort Ord, CA to home on the East coast and back again. I can tell you from experience, that in addition to gas, food, sleep and bathroom breaks, there is ALL KINDS of stuff that can come up. I sat for a couple hours in the red rock watching the sun go down, had to wait while a family picked up all kinds of stuff that flew out of the back of their pickup when the tailgate came down and slowed to a crawl to survive early morning black ice. I'm sure that my experiences were pretty mild / lucky too. There are accidents, weather, needing to stretch your legs, just being too tired to continue with a nap, etc.
I can also say from these cross-country drives that you get in "the zone." Hour after hour of endless driving, your mind wanders. I wondered, after the fact, how I made it home alive because a good part of the time my body was in the car, but my mind was already at home.
But, again, if you're paranoid about what he's doing and so on, I would say that the relationship is doomed...
Best of luck with this. I'm sure that this isn't an easy place for you to be in.

what advices can be given to people before they get married? (link)
|
What Razhie said and a little bit more. We have our 34th anniversary coming up, so I know that this is valid information...
The big thing is to marry your friend. The personality is left behind when the looks and the shapely body are a distant memory. Consider whether the person is someone that you would choose to hang out with over others, if the person is someone who makes you laugh, who you look forward to seeing and miss when they're gone. Similar interests aren't the entire deal, but play an important part. Do you THINK alike; do you both like (or dislike) animals, children, the beach, the forest, etc., etc. The "wild child" may be fun now, but when you're 30 or 40 I think that the novelty will have worn off. Is it a GOOD person.
All kind of cliche, I guess, but cliche's typically come about for a reason. A lot to think about, but marriage isn't something to be undertaken lightly.
I wish you all the best in this.
