I noticed today that one of my dog's eyes is like cloudy. If it matters its the left one. What could this be? I looked online and it said it could be from lack of calcium or something like that, but i'm pretty sure my dog gets enough calcium. Could he be blind in one eye?

he's a wire fox terrier, male, almost 3 years old.

thank you (link)
You'll have to bring him to the vet to find out exactly what's wrong. and it may be serious, so I'd do it ASAP. Good luck!

My dog is bringing up blood. What do I do? (link)
Please bring it to the vet ASAP. Good luck.

I want either a pet rat or a pet mouse.
These are the things I'd like to know:

-What do you recommend, 1 or 2 (rats or mice)
-Which is easier to take care of
-Which is more friendly
-Pros & cons for both.

Thanks :)

(link)
I've had both.

If you want a pet who will bond with you really well, I'd say get a rat. They're both cute, and nice to have as pets. But when you get a new rat, and they start to trust you, they bond with their owner. They can even learn to come to their name. And you can let them run around rooms in your house if you "rat proof" them. You can do that with mice, too, though. So it's really up to you. They're both just as hard to take care of- you have to clean their cage often and give them fresh foods, and give them attention and love. ALWAYS get two rats or mice. Especially rats- because they are very social creatures and need another rat to bond with, also. But they will love you just as much!! But you should look up more information online about each of them. and if you have any more questions, just leave one in my inbox- I know a lot about mice, and especially rats. Good luck!! :)

i want to get a pet but my mum thinks they are too much responsibility. I am desperate but maybe i should start with something not so challenging I know she would let me have a cat or dog because the cost a lot of money to keep and you have to worry about them and things. Any suggestions on what i could have. Not a rat because im scared of them and not a fish because theyre boring...
thankz
(link)
Well, with any pet, you have to worry and take great care of them. Aww why are you scared of rats? I have two- they're great! They're so sweet and loving. But if you don't want a rat, that's fine. haha. Umm.. do you like lizards? You could get anoles- they're really small, cute lizards that you can most likely find at your pet store. I had them before and I loved em. You do have to feed them live food, though. But if you're interested in them, you can look up more information online :) Or maybe you can get a bird? Whatever you end up getting, please take good care of it and good luck! :)

what can i do, because one of my cats keeps on pooping anywhere she can and also peeing in places, she is an old cat but she never used to do it, she has turned lazy, and cannot be bothered to go outside, my mum has given me two choices, either get the cat put down, or take her to the vet, but the vets these days are exspensive, would you have any ideas on what i could possibly do, but today she threw up on the sofa, and it was her cat biscuits, but i just dont know what to do (link)
Please take her to the vet as soon as possible. Something is obviously very wrong. Good luck.

I just got my dog treated for allergies and the vet put her on chlorpheniramine (twice a day 2 tablets). Now she is throwing up blood mixed in her salava. Is this a side affect? She also was tested positive for heart worms and they put her on Tri-Heart 51 to treat new worms forming. (link)
Please call the vet and tell them ASAP.

All right. Here's what the problem is: I really really really really want a dog. I've always (since I was born. Literally.) loved dogs with all my heart. But we've always rented houses which didn't allow dogs. Now we finally bought a house and my mom still refuses to get a dog. She nor anyone understand how much I really need a dog. You may be sitting here reading this thinking, Oh poor little spoiled girl. Her mom won't get her a dog boohoo. But the problem with that is, I'm not spoiled. I never ask for anything and when I do, I don't get it.

Just please, do you guys have any ideas on how to get my mom to let me get a dog? I've already tried basically everything, hence why I came to advicenators. I'm willing to try anything.

I've already listed off the reasons why I should get a dog, proved how well I can take care of one, and found the perfect dog for the family online. I'm just hoping you guys would have some better ideas. :/ (link)
Well maybe just give it time- maybe she'll come around. But if she's worried about the dog shedding, you could get a miniature schnauzer! I have one, and they are great! They don't shed- because they actually have hair. Not fur. That's why we got this type of dog. You do have to get them groomed every few months, though. But maybe you can ask to get a dog as a gift, like maybe your birthday. Just don't give up- and she'll see how much you want it. I hope eventually you get one and get the chance to give a dog a good home :) Good luck!

my dog has separation anxiety, i think it's called. when we leave somewhere and come home, the house is a WRECK. She chews on shoes, gets in the garbage, even goes upstairs and chews up things in my bedroom. and when we come home, she always looks like she thinks someone's going to hit her.

what can i do to stop this? (link)
My dog did pretty much the same thing when we first got her. But she was in an abusive home before, so I understand why she thought someone was going to hit her- but we definitely don't- and she finally learned she's not going to get hurt anymore! But anyways, all you need to do is put her in a room in your house (maybe your room) for 10-15 minutes each day, without you. Eventually she'll get used to being alone sometimes, and she'll learn that you will always come back. My dog is so much better now. She doesn't tear the house apart when we're gone now. Just give it time- and she'll learn that you're not leaving her- you're just leaving for a while and you'll always come home to her. :) Good luck!

I am going out of town for Thanksgiving, and will be on a four-hour, roundtrip flight. My dog is about 18, very, very old...to the point where he'll probably have to be put to sleep within the next few months. But anyway, when he was younger we left him with friends while on vacation, but he's so old that he'll need very special care. My parents and I disagree over what we should do with him...
They want to take him with us on vacation, and put him in a pet carrier. But I am afraid that he is far too old for that, and that something might happen to him while we're in the airplane.
I wanted to have the animal hospital take care of him, but again, he is very old so he needs special attention.
Any ideas on what to do with our dog? If you have a really old and fragile dog, it'll help
Thanks (link)
Noo I don't think you should take him with you. That would be way too stressful, especially for him. Do you have any family friends that could watch him? That would probably be best. If there's no one to watch him, maybe you could bring him to a kennel to be watched, but yes, ask for special care for him. Good luck!

about 4 years ago, i got a dog for my birthday. a chihuahua. a male.

it was really nice as a puppy and everything was fine. now, he's a fucking retarded aggressive shit.
he bites me and barks at me for no fucking reason, at MY house. IN MY FUCKING HOUSE. I can't even go in my room without it barking at me.

it doesn't bark at my mom and my dad and my sister. but it bites and hurts and scratches me whenever I pass by.

we can't even touch it without it growling. it just does NOT let you touch it. and ITS SO SMALL! and the worst part, is that this insignificant little piece of shit has to have a MUZZLE on whenever we take it to the vet! It's fucking WILD

I don't know what to do.

My parents protect it. they're like...all defensive towards it. I don't think it's right that I have to live in a house and constantly be harassed and bitten by a dog that I CHOSE that I BOUGHT AND SAVED with my OWN money.

hell, my cats are nicer than him...

what the hell am I supposed to do?

I'm 16/f. My finger's throbbing right now from trying to get through to my OWN yard and my dog bit me.

And when you hit him and discipline him, he barks and bites back!
I don't know WHAT to do. Advice please?
I asked my parents to put him to sleep, but then the defensive shit kicks in...

I mean, I love animals. Please don't get me wrong. But this one's just abusive. (link)
And when you hit him and discipline him, he barks and bites back!

Also, do nottttt hit your dog. That's what is making him agressive. That's probably why he doesn't like you and he's so agressive towards you- because you hit him. Just say "NO" firmly, and point your finger at him. Never hit him. That won't help WHATSOEVER. That just makes it worse. You have to let him know he can trust you, so never ever hurt him.

Hey Hey,

I have recently got a 6 week old Jack Russel Puppy which I have named "Ruffie." We've had him for 3 days and in that time he has done 2 or 3 poo's. He hasn't done one today but has been trying to, he gets in position to do one and just can't. He's weeing as normal. He has been eating tin puppy food and dry dog biscuits. I gave hi a big drink of cow milk as i was told that should make his poo runny. Does anyone know what I can do to help him? Also if there is any treatments i can use on a six week old puppy for fleas.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
(link)
By tin puppy food, do you mean canned food? You shouldn't just feed your dog that. From what I hear, it's not good for them and it either makes them constipated or have diareah(sp). You should feed them a dog food like science diet, but not the canned kind. Good luck! :)

My dog went to the vet a few days ago and my dad came back saying that my dog (golden retriever) is too fat. we're giving her less food... but the thing is that i'm scared. What if she is really really hungry? I don't want her to starve. Another thing is, its winter and I don't know what to do for her to lose some weight. I know running is a good way for dogs to lose weight, and swimming.. but its super cold! I usually play tug-of-war in the house with her, and like chase her around trying to get her, which by the way is really fun, but my mom complains that she sheds too much hair and how my mom always has to clean after her. HELP (link)
Well I don't know if you have a yard that your dog can run free in, but some dogs love to run through the snow, and that's exercise. But if your dog can't run free, my advice for you is to get dressed up all warm and go take your dog for walks on a leash! :) and if your dog always has dog food and water down, he won't be hungry. He'll eat when he's hungry. It's best for you to not feed your dog people food. You want him to live the longest and healthiest life he can, right? So feed him just dog food (which is good for him) and maybe those bones (treats made for dogs) once in a while. Good luck! :)

I bought this dwarf hamster that has been at my house for about a week now, and she bites EVERYONE. She never did this before. My older sister has known her since she was born in her biology class, and she never bit anyone. Why does she do this, and how can I stop it?

She also doesn't get along with this other hamster we bought two days ago. We put the two hamsters face-to-face to introduce them to each other, and when nothing happened, we put them in the same cage and the one that's been here for a week went nuts. It was like a hamster smack-down... What can I do to stop this, too?

(link)
She's probably afraid, or stressed. Is she biting you when you hold her? It might be because she's not used to being held, and she's just plain afraid. Just give her time and gain her trust. Hold her and pet her, and give her treats with your hand, and she should learn you're not going to hurt you and she should start to trust you more. And as for getting along with the other hamster, they may just plain old not get along. But they might just need time, too. Try putting them in separate cages right next to each other. That might help them to get used to each other. And you should let them out with each other on neutral ground, obviously not in the cage because it's natural for the first hamster to be territorial. Let them be with each other maybe a few times a day, and just give it time. Good luck!

We recently adopted a cat from someone who needed to find a good home for him. He is approximately 4 months old. We do not have much money to take our new pet to the vet for problems he is having: diarrhea, defecating on carpet and has sneezing and running nose. His appetite is good and he drinks well. He will use the litter some of the time but also goes on the carpet in hide away places. He is alert and does not act like he is really ill. My question is "How and what can I do to handle these issues myself like is there any medication I can get ? Going to the vet is so costly and sometimes there are things that we can do to help. If anyone has any suggestions please tell me. (link)
My advice is to take him to the vet. It sounds like he is definitely sick, and it may get worse if he doesn't see a vet. Maybe you can call your vet, and talk to him/her on the phone and tell them you don't have the money to bring your pet in, but maybe they can identify what's wrong and tell you what to do. Good luck.

What kind of pet can be a perfect pet for any person
what kind of pet do you like?

Pls. Answer the kind of pet and it's kind of breed
for example

Cat - Siamese Cat
(link)
There are lots of pets to choose from. Dogs and cats, of course, are great. Smaller animals make great pets, too. If you like reptiles, anoles make great pets. They are very small and cute lizards that you can most likely find at your pet store. I've had them before and you can even hold them if they get used to you. Rats make WONDERFUL pets. They are small, but so sweet, cute, and loving! I have two. You can even let them run around a room in your house if you "rat proof" it. Almost all animals can make great pets, and you can research any type of pet online and see if they seem like the right type of pet for you. If you have any questions, just leave one in my inbox! : )

my hamster walks wierd and is not being as active as he used to be and i got him 6 months ago whats wrong? (link)
Hm. It depends how old he was when you got him. Maybe he's getting older and slowing down. He also might be sick. Do you clean his cage often? And feed him other food other than his regular food, like lettuce and other fruits/vegetables? Do you hold him and give him attention and love? You also may want to take him to a vet if you can. If you absolutely can't, then just take great care of him, and hope for the best. Good luck!

my hamster had 7 babys she couldnt even fit through the tubes. i thought they were only suposed to have 3 or 4? the dad hamster shredded up the first baby. ther is a ball on the top of the cage and she had them all in there but its gross theres nothing in therre excep blood poop and the hamsters it stinks so bad and it happend today. what else do i do for the babys? all the babys and mom are laying in the ball and it stinks so bad do i clean it or not if so how?!? they are teddybear hamsters. my mom says their fine but i dont think so. any advice on anything for the lil babys. i have the dad ina tote no top but he can reach most of the way up i dont want him to get out and it was the largest tote. help on anything PLEASEE (link)
Ok.. This happened to me before, too. One day I looked and the mom was having babies! Don't touch the babies. If your scent gets on them, the mother may kill them. Just make sure the mother and the babies are in a comfortable place, and leave them alone. Keep an eye on them, though. But the mother will know what to do, and she will raise them. Make sure the father is comfortable, too! And when the babies are grown up, you may want to separate the boys and girls- because they may end up mating too! And then you'll be overloaded with babies! And if you can't give all of them proper care, if it's too hard, you could try finding them another good home somewhere else. Good luck!
