Getting a dog

Question Posted Sunday November 11 2007, 11:38 am

All right. Here's what the problem is: I really really really really want a dog. I've always (since I was born. Literally.) loved dogs with all my heart. But we've always rented houses which didn't allow dogs. Now we finally bought a house and my mom still refuses to get a dog. She nor anyone understand how much I really need a dog. You may be sitting here reading this thinking, Oh poor little spoiled girl. Her mom won't get her a dog boohoo. But the problem with that is, I'm not spoiled. I never ask for anything and when I do, I don't get it.

Just please, do you guys have any ideas on how to get my mom to let me get a dog? I've already tried basically everything, hence why I came to advicenators. I'm willing to try anything.

I've already listed off the reasons why I should get a dog, proved how well I can take care of one, and found the perfect dog for the family online. I'm just hoping you guys would have some better ideas. :/

Well maybe just give it time- maybe she'll come around. But if she's worried about the dog shedding, you could get a miniature schnauzer! I have one, and they are great! They don't shed- because they actually have hair. Not fur. That's why we got this type of dog. You do have to get them groomed every few months, though. But maybe you can ask to get a dog as a gift, like maybe your birthday. Just don't give up- and she'll see how much you want it. I hope eventually you get one and get the chance to give a dog a good home :) Good luck!

Proove to your mom that you can handle it. Promise to clean up the poop, feed him/her everyday.
Say if i don't take care of him/her you can get rid of it.

Babysit a neighbors dog.. or a friends dog while they are on vacation and prove to your mom how much you love dogs- and that you can handle it

i hope it works!
good luck :] <3
