Hey, Im 13 and Im in 8th grade, and I have a crush on Travis my friend hes also 13 and in 8th grade. We have alot in common, but Ive always been kinda shy and not telling people that I like them. But i wrote travis a note one day that i thought he was hott i didnt get a bad responce:) or a good one :(, and nothing is different between us and we are still good friends, i talk to him all the time. I wanna go out with him, but Im afraid of rejection so I dont know if I should ask him out. I feel that he might like me but I can never be positive. One of my bestfriends, Brittany thinks I should ask him out cuz if i dont i might miss a chance to go out with him if he likes me, and he might get over me and go out with someone else:( SO... my question is should i ask him out, i would really appreaciate your advice! One of my all-famous answers to this question, is get your BFF to go up to him and say "Hi, I was just wondering if you like [YOUR NAME]. Because if so, I'll tell her. I'd like to see you two together, you two would look really cute!"
That way it would seem like you had nothing to do with it. If she comes back and says he was interested, then talk to him about it. If he says no really fast, it probably either means "no" or "yes, but I'm really embarrased to let anyone know"
So try that! See what happens! It'll seem like you had nothing to do with it and all the pressure will be on him!!!

Hey! Well this is my first year in high school, and homecoming is right around the corner. I was just seeing if you could give me tips as to what type of colors are best for my dress, along with any other tips you'd like to give me. I have fair skin, but use fake tan, and medium length blonde hair. I'm about 5'4 and thin. Any advice you would like to give me for anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! (link)

Well pink and black colours are totally cool. Maybe a black dress with pink accents. Also, since you're fair skinned, black is good, not white. White will just make you look pale. If you're going with the pink and black idea, I'd say black shoes.

If you've seen, I usually give advice on relationships, but I'll do the best I can to help you, because I never turn a question down!!
I have light brown hair like you, and lighter skin. I usually wear GlamShine in Diva, it's a very VERY pretty lipstick. The only downside of that is it's around 8 dollars for a very little bottle. But it IS very gorgeous! On my eyes all I do is mascara, and silver eyeshadow is SO in this year! Sometimes a little black eyeliner on the bottom is pretty, but don't go too overboard with it!
In order to help you with your hair, I'll need to know your length. If it is about shoulder length, half ponytails with straight hair is very cool, or even a half ponytail messy bun. Or just a messy bun! Pigtails are so cute this year, and if you have longer hair, braided pigtails are both cute and pretty.
For your clothes, pink and black is VERY in this year. For example, my favourite outfit I have is my pink pants, with pink and white shoes, and a black shirt with only a little pink accents.
Also, minny skirts are very in, and knee length skirts. Try not to do big itchy sweaters, they're a big no-no. (But please understand that I am girly and maybe you are not and you may not like any of these ideas)

well.. I'm finally with Kevin. We've been together a little over 2 weeks. The more I'm with him. The more I fall in love with him. and I'm really comfortable around him. and I really love him. I don't know what to do. because like in school we hardly see each other. Im a senior.. and hes a freshman. hes suppose to be a Sophomore but he got in a lot of trouble. But yeah ne way.. we see each other in the hall way.. and we say hi.. but thats about it.. Then after school he has football practice. Then after that he goes with his friend.. and I absolutley hate him. It seems like he never has time for me.. and I talk to him all the time. and am usually with him every night. and Tonight is the first night I havent been with him or talked to him. and he tells me all the time he loves me.. but.. I'm afraid hes... I dunno.. falling outta love with me.. or planning to break up with him.. What should I do? I really dont want to lose him. I really do care about him alot.. :( Help someone!!

You two need to spend more quality time together, to bond. No time together=no relationship. I know that you don't get much time, but when you see him in the hallway or something, pull him aside and ask if you can hang out. When you DO hang out, tell him you want to spend more time with him. Also, a way to show him you love him, go to one of his football practices and cheer for him!! Or even just go to watch him. Just ask him if maybe he could split the time after football between you and his friend. Ya just need to talk to him hunn!

Lol, sorry I got a little carried away! Anyway if he trys to kiss you, and you don't know how, maybe you can give him a peck (I mean, it's the first date right?) If he trys to go any further, just say "I really like you and all, but I don't think we should be moving this fast" That is a nice, reasonal, and respectful way to say "no". You have a right to say no! If he doesn't like you after that, well, he's not the type of guy you want right? But I'm sure if he's a nice guy he'll understand. :-)

OK, I'm just a little lost here. This girl that I was POSITIVE liked me just went on a date with another guy. I know for a fact that they kissed which pretty much means nothing is going to happen between me and her anytime soon (ie. it was a real date). Well, I can't speak for every girl, but this is how I flirt...if I do this, it means I really like him. I usually joke and kid with him, and make fun of him, and be near him every chance I get...
HOWEVER
It is possible for a girl to like more than one guy! I could flirt like that with 3 guys, and go out with the one I thought I had a chance with.
It may mean you were ONE of the guys she liked, but another guy she liked asked her out. It could still mean she likes you.

Okay...so i've liked this boy secretly since like sixth grade. My all famous answer to this question! Get Sierra to go to him and say "I noticed you've been flirting with [YOUR NAME]. Are you interested in her? If so, I'll let her know." If you do that, it'll seem like you had nothing to do with it, and if he says no, you won't be embarrased! Just make sure you don't treat him differently if he does say no, because then it'll seem obvious that you were dissapointed.

Ok! Just got back from work and answered ASAP. You could get his favourite picture of the both of you, blow it up, and put it in a nice frame. That shows you care. Hmm, what else...guys really like CDs. Either you can make a mix of his favourite kinds of songs, which shows you took time, or go and buy his favourite band/group CD. But make sure it's a band he likes! lol. Get tickets to his favourite sport, and watch it with him (even if you can't stand it!) it will show you care enough to watch it with him. Maybe even try getting him tickets to his band. I know it's a little pricey, but sometimes you don't have to get front row! I don't know if you might like this idea, but try getting him a gift certificate to his favourite clothes shop. If these ideas do not work for you...tell me and I'll think of some more! :-)

Ask him online. That way if he's not interested in you it won't be too embarrasing. Either that or get your best friend to ask. Have your friend say something like "Hey, are you interested in [YOUR NAME]? If so, I'll let her know"
That way, it will seem like you had nothing to do with it. :-)

theres this girl thats kind of popular and she always wants to steal my best friend. the problem is, i can tell my bf is more interested in the other girl. also, its really hard to just be friends with someone else, because no one is quite like my bf and i dont like them as much. oh yea, and the person trying to steal my best friend doesnt like me.. so its kind of hard to become the three amigos. i usually rate a 5!!!:) (link)

Maybe this girl isn't trying to steal your best friend, but maybe trying to befriend her also. If this is the case, and you feel your friend isn't hanging out with you as often, invite her over to your house so you guys can hang out. The more you hang out, the stonger your relationship will be. If that popular girl really IS trying to steal your friend, talk to your friend. Say something like "I noticed since you've been hanging out with [POPULAR GIRL'S NAME] you really haven't been hanging out with me. Wanna go see a movie saturday?"
If you find she is still ignoring you, talk to her again and say "I really tried to talk to you. I'm here if you ever wanna hang out"
If she doesn't want to hang out with you anymore, that is not really like a "best friend" and maybe you can settle being just her friend.
If she's not ignoring you at all, just spending a little less time with you, try to share your friend! There's probably plenty of her to go around! If she's your "best friend" she'll stay your best friend even if she's getting another friend.

My husband and I are adopting a cat today from the Humane Society. The cat is 4 years old, and has not been declawed. I feel it would be inhumane to do declaw her, but I am worried about her scratching my furniture, and me as well. Does anyone have any alternitives to declawing, or how to prevent her from scratching the furniture.
And any other tips for a new cat owner would be appriciated. (link)

I don't think declawing is inhumane. They don't really need their claws to live, as long as you keep her inside. My cat has been declawed for 4 years and he's as happy as ever!

But if you still do not want to declaw the cat, you can get a spray bottle and every time the cat claws, spray its paw with water. They do not like that, but it's not cruel.
I still believe your best alternative is declawing. You'd never have to worry about her hurting anyone, and it does not hurt them for the rest of their life, just a day or 2. (Keep in mind many cats and dogs are spayed and neutered too, if vets do it, it can't be that cruel right?)

Nope. Nothing wrong with you. Usually 13 year old boys don't even like girls yet. They still like their nintendo games and action figures. Just because a boy doesn't like you, does not mean there's something wrong with you. There is no possible way you can get every boy in this world to like you. You're only 13, just becoming a teenager. You still have your whole high school years to worry about that stuff. I think you should just enjoy being a kid. That boy may like you later down the line. Right now, he probably doesn't know much about relationships anyway. Once he matures, he may decide he likes you. Or you may decide you don't like him anymore! Trust me, there's nothing wrong with you.

I know you don't want this, but you need to go to your parents. Tell them you're coming to them because you need help and you trust them more than anyone else. They might help you go into meetings that help alcoholics. These meetings do nothing but help. Also, tell your friends to stop supplying you with drinks.

You should try to plan a group or double date. That way you wouldn't feel like you need to focus all your attention on him, and vice versa. There would be no awkward silences. This kind of dating is good for the first couple dates, until you are both comfortable with eachother enough to not be nervous around eachother.

Sit her down and TALK TO HER. Don't try Iming her, and don't E-Mail her either. Call her up, or when you see her at school say "I really need to talk to you. Please can I just tell you something?" If she says no to that you need to call her up. Maybe she doesn't answer the phone. Leave a message that says something like "You've been my friend for a long time and I really need to talk to you because I care about our friendship." Maybe someone in her family will hear the message and convince her to call you. Or maybe she listened to the message. If you do get a hold of her somehow say something like "I only wanted to know if you talked behind my back because I wanted to know the truth. Maybe you are embarrased about talking behind my back. I'm not mad at you for it, if you did, and I am not accusing you of it. Nobody is perfect. We've been friends for a long time, and if there's something going on in your life that's making you unhappy, then I'd really like to talk to you about it because I care about you. If you don't want to respond to me just know I'll always be here whenever you're ready to talk."
If she doesn't respoond to this, then you've done everything you can. There is really nothing you can do except wait for her to come to you.
