I'm going to New York over the summer and I'v never been there before. What are the must see places? And not just the tourist places!
I lived in New York for a good part of my life, and i still go back often. The thing about New York is the experience of being there. You just need to act like you live there: go to the everyday places, and all. But I guess spending the beginning of your trip in the tourist places and all would be good too, so check out Chinatown, Greenwich Village, and Soho, which are my favorites. Also, see at least one Broadway show, or it won't be a true New York experience. I recommend Phantom of the Opera, Avenue Q, and Wicked. (The Disney plays might be good, but they dont count as real Broadway plays. Just so you know.) And eat at John's Pizza.
how does labelling affect people?not only the person doin the labeling but the person being labeled as well?
People feel restricted because they feel like they need to live up to their label.
Ex: (Okay I'm not a fan of HSMusical but we watched it in chorus anddd) Troy was labeled as a jock, and he wanted to go out for the play, but felt like he couldn't because it was one or the other. And also with some of the other characters.

i'm confused. i'm thirteen years old, and i have no idea what i'm doing.
I changed schools about a month ago, to a slightly smaller school. and was put into a class with mostly boys, and a few girls. I guess it's not your average school, it's filled with kids who've done some bad things. Involving drugs, or truancy. I guess that's not the point, but for background.
the boys are pretty graphic and innapropriate. One would walk by me and say "sexy" constantly and left a weird note in my desk, and one would compliment me on my shirt when it was tight. And one of them was really nice to me, being pretty protective of me if i lent someone somthing and they didn't give it back straight away. He was really nice to me, all in all. He threw away my garbage when he saw i hadn't yet, and helped me figure something out on a word search that i didn't know.
He's one year older than me, and i have no idea why he's at this school. A lot of people would bring it up that this boy liked me, and i guess i believed it, because i thought so myself. well, i got to liking him too.
it's continued on pretty much the same, but on friday, this girl Janet who's also in my class said to me, "You know, Charlie* was going to ask you out the first week you came here."
and i asked why he didn't.
"Because he thought you'd dis him, and since you two live in different towns, he wasn't sure it'd work out."
i don't know if he really said that, and i don't know how i feel about how he backed out of asking me so quickly. He still acts overly-nice with me, but i don't know where it's going to go. i can't understand if he likes me, and i can't understand why he isn't doing anything, or saying anything to me, directly.
any comments? i'm not so much asking for advice as much as a perspective, but advice is always something i'd take. Thanks.
He probably likes you, but is pretty shy about it. I think he wants to be sure that you like him before he goes and puts himself out there, because he's afraid of rejection. He probably thinks you like him, but isn't positive. From what I read, you haven't been sending him signals either way. It sounds like this boy really does like you, and is afraid that, if he asks you out, (1) you'll reject him, or (2) it wont work out. But I don't think that he meant it when he said that the distance was a problem.

well, im 15 and a girl. So there is this guy, let's call him joe. He's like perfect. He gets good grades and has a car and a job. The other guy let's call him mike is kind of like the bad boy in school. He does drugs and flirts with like every girl. I like them both alot. Is that bad? Should I go for the perfect boy or the bad boy? My heart is playing emotional ping pong right now. Thanks in advance. :)
The good guy seems like he would be better for you. But if you like them both, go for the one which seems easier to get. You don't want to get your heart broken when your prince charming was into you the whole time.

With some people it does make it lighter. And if you're young enough, working out a lot could actually make it go away for a while. (I know some people will be like, THATS NOT TRUE but it is. It would only work, however, if you had gotten your period relatively recently and you did a lot of working out.)
ok so there is this reallllyyy creepy guy at my school. his name is dave and he used to go out with one of my good friends. the two broke up and my friend told me he is creepy and smokes and is just weird. so lately hes been trying to get with me and he sends me messages over myspace and tells me im sexy and we should go out. and then i dont reply, so he like, finds me in the halls and asks me why i dont reply and we should go out. IM SO CREEPED OUT BY HIM. i dont know what to say. i want him to leave me alone because hes bad news but im so afraid hes like, going to be pissed and do something bad if i tell him "sick. no." haha. please help

You should be kind of rude. Not terribly, but he's being mean, so whatever.
i dont know what you should say, but i'd hate to see you be like, "I do not appreciate the things you are saying, and i believe it is rude."
My dad has been SUPER angry recently.. ever since he found out he had diabetes, he has been more upset than before he found out. Could diabetes be the one causing his tempers? Or him finding out him having it made him angry, perhaps? Or both? I don't know.. but I am scared of him because he is always angry. What can I do?
Finding it out could have affected his moods, and if he's on any additional medicines besided insulin, that could affect it too.
I doubt you can do much. Give him his space, and i guess you should try to be extra considerate. But if it's the shock, then he'll probably be pretty normal in a while.
I want a bathing suit at victoria secret. I'm only a 32A,and I know im getting a push up one. but i'd like to know, does it make a difference if i get the molded cup or if i get the removable padding? i don't want it to look like i'm wearing a bra..
The removable padding can sometimes be a pain. Go for the molded cup.

No, but you can look on their news feed to see when the last time they did things is. That's usually the last time they logged on.

Just get one. It would be too much to get both. (not too expensive but too much going on)

Open your buddy list.
Go to the edit list.
Go to settings(its at the very bottom)
There should be tabs on the side. Click on "Buddy List," if it's not already open.
At the bottom of that screen it should say
"Linked Screen Names"
and then below that, there will be a link that says, "Manage Linked Screennames."
Click it, and the rest is easy.
Okay. This one person in my class guessed who I liked, and told EVERY-ONE. Now the person I know likes him, and he told my friend "I dont realy know her but shes cool I guess" Or something like that. I'm FREAKING out though. I really like him but I can't even look at him because since he knows, I dont want to look obsessed with him...And I just dont know what to do because now a lot of people know I like him. I know exactly what you're going through, because it happened to me a little while back. Take the weekend to mope, and choose someone else in some of your classes to become obsessed with. You don't even have to like him, but pay a lot of attention to him. You don't have to act like you like him, either. But pay special attention to him in order to get your mind off of the guy you like. Notice what shoes he wore, or if he did his hair differently. (Just so you know, I read that idea somewhere and it helped me tons.)
also, remember this: if you seem desperate, your guy won't like you.
So don't seem desperate. Do whatever it takes to pay little attention to him. If he looks your way, smile, but not flirtatiously, and go back to what you were doing. If you try and seem a little embarrased and humbled, that would be good too. He'll know that you don't like the situation, but you'll deal. And that's cool.
in 2 weeks i'm turning 16 and i want to have some sort of small party. I'm inviting 6 people. I don't have a lot of money to spend on this (let's say, my limit is $100).
My parents suggested all night bowling (midnight until 3:30), the only problem is that the guys can't come back to my house after that, my dad won't let them. (there'll be two guys).

My friend is having a Bat Mitzva[sp?] & so I decided to go to the mall & get a dress. After I bought the dress, I found out that a lot of people bought their dress form the same place. It would be embarrassing to have the same dress as someone....what do I do?
either return it, or get a cute cropped jacket or cardigan to wear with it, and make sure that you look gorgeous. you want to be the best-looking girl in that dress.
