is diabetes the problem?

Question Posted Friday February 9 2007, 7:18 pm

My dad has been SUPER angry recently.. ever since he found out he had diabetes, he has been more upset than before he found out. Could diabetes be the one causing his tempers? Or him finding out him having it made him angry, perhaps? Or both? I don't know.. but I am scared of him because he is always angry. What can I do?

One of the problems that most people have in the early stages of diabetes is random mood changes and they tend to take it out on other people. My mom does the same thing. Just give him his space. If it really starts to bug you try to confront him about it with your mom or sibling(s).

Finding it out could have affected his moods, and if he's on any additional medicines besided insulin, that could affect it too.

I doubt you can do much. Give him his space, and i guess you should try to be extra considerate. But if it's the shock, then he'll probably be pretty normal in a while.
