Hi, I just got my Sidekick 08 and I got the call waiting thing, which is when someone is calling me you don't hear a ring, you hear a song, I was wondering does anyone know how to put a song on the call waiting thing, I don't know how to do it.. Please help, thanks so much.

try looking on the settings for the audio or just play with the settings on your phone. if that doesnt work trying looking in the instruction booklet that it comes with.

okay no offense but your feedback says "rated a 2 by a L2" um you asked a question and I answered it.. quick acting like you are a L2 moderator

Is there a way around that like change it even though i dont remember? I keep trying multiple answers but it only lets me choose so many then locks me account for 24 hours. Anybody help? Thanks!

well if you remember your email address that you made it with you can have them send it to your email address just click on forgot password and then it will ask for your email address the one you used and then it will send it to you and that ask you if u want to reset your password. that should work that's what i always do.

ok so one of my friends thought of a good idea to get a guy to like me. he likes "bad girls" so the plan is to get a rumor started about me that i gave someone a bj and idk if i should do it or not. help me plllleeeeaaasssssssseeeee!

no that is not a good idea at all. cause if you spread a rumor liek that around peple are going to start thinking differently of you. thinking that oh she easy, or oh she gives good head or whatever, plus if you have a reputation well if u spread a rumor like that you might as well throw your reputation out the window cause you will lose your reputation. idk if thats a big thing to you or not but you will lose it if you spread something like that around. so in my opinion i dont think that it's a good idea to spread a rumor around like that.

i have been trying time and time again to loose weight but it just never works. I am 17 and am pretty big, i have tried walking, pilates and yoga but i dont seem to loose any weight. I dont really have an eating plan, i find it hard to go on them, what if i was to go on one what would i eat?! i really want to be accepted in the community and not looked at differently. i dont seem to have a fast metabolism, how does one raise that? and i know that not eating is NOT the answer so i am prepared to be healthy and loose it the right way. is there any tricks to loosing weight? from celebrities? Any suggestions will be taken on board and will help me :)

well walking will help, but in order to lose the weight and keep it down you wanna eatt he right foods, and as for the eating plans they give you brochures with what kinds of foods that you are allowed or can eat that you can buy or that are available in grocery stores. if you really wanna lose some weigth i suggest trying a eating plan and trying to stick with it. i mean what about to say may sound kinda silly but trust me it works my uncel lost like 100 lbs by doing this, everyday for at least 30 mins doesnt matter what time of day it is what you should do is just walk up and down a flight of stairs, say your working and you go on break or something walk up and down the stairs like stairwell or something. trust me it may sound silly or just plain out weird but it works i'm tellin ya. give those a try and see how they work.

Ok, so if I used to eat lots of junk food and all the wrong types of foods and had no kind of exercise in my life, and then i all of a sudden stopped that, and started eating right and exercised everyday, could that possibly bring about frequent headaches? Like from the sudden change in diet and exercise? and if so, after how long should that happen?

i think the reason you probably get headaches is because you might be working yourself too hard while excercising and your not getting enough food into your system i mean the sudden change in your diet might have a lil bit of changes like minor headaches here adn there and minor aches adn pains here an there but after a while your body will start to get used to it and you wont be having headaches or anything of the sort. give or take it should only last no more than a week 2 weeks at the least.

Hey, so my boyfriend is turning 17, and i wanted to do sometihng really special for him. we have been together for around 10 months now. I have a pink helmet with flowers, which costed about $5, because its a joke me and his family have because he got hurt, adn his family jokes that they want him to wear it when he drives, and a $50 gas card. I want to give him both those on the 18th because thats when his drivers test is. Then on the 24th, his actual birthday, i have a wheezy plush thing from toy story 3 (another joke between us) which costed $20, a tshirt from his favorite band $20, and clocky (the alarm clock that runs away because he can NEVER wake up with an alarm) which costed $50. I know i spent a lot of money already, but he means so much to me and spent $200 on a camera for me for our six month anniversary, so moeny isnt an object. I want to get him something else too though. He lovesss american eagle, but he has speciffic taste in clothes, and i dont want to get him something he wont like but feels obligated to wear. Also, i dont want to get him a gift card because itd feel like impersonal. I was thinking of getting him a watch. I heard fossil is a good company, but i dont want anything too expensive. i found one on overstock.com, because the ones on the website are so expensive.
http://www.overstock.com/Jewelry-Watches/Fossil-Mens-Diamond-Charcoal-Dial-Watch/4220367/product.html

In your opinion, do you think its too much money to be spending, and do you think he wil like the watch, or would he perfer something from ae? And also, if you order from overstock will in come in a fossil box or an overstock one? THANK YOU SO MUCH

i think that it is a really nice looking watch and that i think he's going to love it:) and no i dont think your spending too much moneyon him at all. i mean your birthday comes only but once a year so might as well make the best of it:)

I know it's an odd question but I was thinking about the television the other day. I haven't had T.V. in a couple of years now but I know that most of the United States does. It is a good way to get information out to the public so it was a wonderful invention! Anyway, out of pure curiosity, when was the television invented and who invented it in the first place?

In 1939, the Andrea, the first TV, was invented.

Scottish inventor, John Logie Baird, the father of this pervasive technology, first publicly demonstrated television on 26 January 1926, in his small laboratory in the Soho district of London. Although large companies with great financial support were also working on the problem of television, Baird managed to surpass them all with very little money, a handful of unpaid helpers and equipment pieced together using rather unconventional materials. For example, Baird's choice of mechanical scanning as the most effective way of achieving true television required the use of spinning discs -- which of financial necessity were made of hatboxes and mounted on a coffin lid.

The earliest suggestion of Baird's interest in television technology is an experiment which he conducted at his parents' house in 1903. This experiment involved the attempted construction of a selenium photo-electric cell, but was unsuccessful, and Baird burnt his hands in the process. Although John Logie Baird suggests that he first started work on a complete television system in Hastings, there is evidence that he actually began ten years earlier. In 1976, Peter Waddell wrote an article which quoted sources suggesting that Baird first experimented with a complete television system between 1912 and 1915, while living in Yoker and working towards his electrical engineering diploma at the Glasgow College. R.W. Burns reinforces this suggestion in his 1986 book British Television: The Formative Years. In 1996, Malcolm Baird said that his father's work in Yoker can now be considered a definite possibility.

The most fully substantiated evidence for Baird's early television work is found on the south coast of England, in Hastings in 1923. Even here, there is a certain amount of controversy, for Baird himself writes that he travelled directly from London to Hastings, where he then started work on television. This statement is untrue, for although Baird did travel to the south coast, it was not first to Hastings but to another seaside town called Folkestone. Since this new information has been released, a plaque has been placed on 26 Guildhall Street in Folkestone, in order to commemorate Baird's early television work there. According to R.W. Burns, Baird was definitely in Hastings during the winter of 1922 to 1923. This situation therefore suggests that Baird was simultaneously renting accommodation in Folkestone and Hastings.

In order to tackle the problem of television, John Logie Baird chose a system which employed mechanical scanning. There were various methods available to achieve this, and Baird selected a system which used the Nipkow disc as being the most promising. Invented by Paul Nipkow in 1884, this disc had a series of apertures cut into it, which could then be used to scan an image. This disc was combined with other discs, and produced a very different television set from the ones we use today, for Baird's system did not use the cathode ray tube which is the most common method of displaying an image on modern television equipment.

Baird was quite capable of inventing his machines, but he was not quite so capable of their construction. For this reason, he enlisted the help of two young Hastings boys, Victor Mills and Norman Loxdale. Mills assisted Baird in the refinement of his electronics and Loxdale made various components, including a Nipkow disc with two spirals of apertures which were covered with orange-red and blue-green filters. Loxdale later described his surprise at Baird's experimentation with this disc, as at that time the inventor had not yet achieved a television picture. This surprise can be more easily understood when one realises that this disc was capable of producing colour and/or three dimensional pictures.

There were two main problems which Baird would have to overcome in order to achieve television: the problem of the insensitivity of the photo-electric cell, and also the difficulty of obtaining a clear image. At first, he could only produce pictures of the outline of shapes, known as "shadowgraphs." C.F. Jenkins in America and D. von Mihaly in Hungary were also working on the problem of television, and had also produced shadowgraphs. However, Baird was able to solve his main difficulties and go beyond these two inventors in achieving true television.

To overcome his first problem, Baird worked with an assistant in Tunbridge Wells on the development of a photo-electric cell. The experimentation was successful, and he eventually produced a cell that "...was entirely different from existing cells on the market. The second problem was solved by Baird's refinement of his electronics. Douglas Brown suggests that Baird's system was as poor as everyone else's, but it was his use of a technique called "sharpening" that finally produced a television picture. Sharpening is an electronic method which brings a picture into focus in the same manner in which a normal lens focuses an image.

Almost eleven years to the day after graduating with an electrical engineering diploma from the Royal Technical College in Glasgow, John Logie Baird first achieved a recognisable television image. In his autobiography, Baird describes this historic occasion.

The image of the dummy's head formed itself on the screen with what appeared to be almost unbelievable clarity...I ran down the little flight of stairs to Mr. Cross' office, and seized by the arm his office boy William Taynton, hauled him upstairs and put him in front of the transmitter

After paying Taynton two shillings and sixpence to stay in position, Baird finally saw a human face recognisably reproduced on his apparatus. Baird waited four months, until 26 January 1926, before demonstrating his achievement to the Royal Institute and a reporter from The Times newspaper.

John Logie Baird's achievement of television brought him great recognition. He went on to become a well known public figure in Great Britain. In 1931 married the concert pianist Margaret Albu. The couple had two children, Diana and Malcolm. Diana is a retired schoolteacher living near Glasgow, and Malcolm is a professor in chemical engineering at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, as well as a Baird historian in his own right.

Baird's work did not stop with his achievement of true television. He went on to develop television for cinemas, both colour and three dimensional television, and also investigated further into secret signalling and radar technology. The fall edition of Kinema will contain a complementary article by Malcolm Baird, examining his father's work following the first demonstration of television.

I was going to buy some groceries yesterday and carrots were on the list. I went to the produce section to choose my carrots and found a sign that said some of them (slightly more expensive, by the way) were organic. I've been seeing "organic" on more products lately and was curious what exactly that meant. I just know somebody here on Advicenators knows :)

“Organic” means that the food was grown without the use of synthetic chemicals. Organic meat and dairy products come from cows that are hormone-free. Organic meat also comes from animals whose feed did not contain pesticides

I was thinking of making homemade alfredo sauce the other day but I don't have a recipe for it. I was hoping that somebody here had a recipe that they could share with me...

I've never made a sauce before in my life either so I'm not looking for something too complicated to begin with. If your recipe is a not basic then please let me know so I am aware that it might take more effort and tries to get it right :) that's all.

here's one that i found tha sounds fairly easy to make.

1/2 cup butter
1 package cream cheese
1 cup half and half
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
pepper, to taste

1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.

2. Once butter is almost melted, add the package of cream cheese. It's easiest to cut it into 4 pieces so that it melts quicker.

3. Once butter and cream cheese are mixed well together, add the cup of half and half, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and then shake pepper on top. Stir all together until well mixed.

4. Once it's mixed well and saucelike, take it off the burner and set aside so it can thicken up. Stir every few moments.

5. DONE! Pour over your favorite pasta, I love it with tortellini!

Don't forget some breadsticks to dip in the extra sauce! :)

give that a try.

I heard that Lady GaGa (sings Pokerface, Just Dance, Love Game, Paparazzi) was a hermaphrodite or a man. I don't know if any of that is true but when I looked at her in her videos she doesn't look very womanly. Is Lady GaGa really a man?

let me tell you lady gaga is definitely a girl. the only way to find out if she was a guy was to see if she has an adam's apple. tha't would tell you right there if she's a guy or a girl.

Would it be wierd for a fourteen year old girl to date a sixteen year old boy. Its only a grade apart, (so like freshman/sophomore)but its still like a two year diference, what do you guys think?

no that's not weird at all. that's fine as long as you guys like each other and there's a conection and communication. cause like i always say communication is the key to all and every friendship/relationship.
