Advicenators discussion: School... Erinn_the_bamf wrote Sunday September 2 2007, 8:40 am: Are you guys excited to go back? Because this year I am! Matt wrote Sunday September 2 2007, 1:29 pm: Same same. Cux wrote Sunday September 2 2007, 7:01 pm: Yes- I'm going to a brand new school in my district. Ahh- everything is brand new =D; new books, new classrooms, new everything. Erinn_the_bamf wrote Sunday September 2 2007, 10:02 pm: The pictures of your school are quite nice!
I love school. This is because I'm in a ton of clubs and random groups in school. It's what I go to school for! LOL_x0x wrote Sunday September 2 2007, 10:19 pm: I've decided to join random clubs, too Erinn! I think it'll be fun and track doesn't start until spring-ish. I'm so excited for it, maybe because I couldn't do it last year? Cux wrote Sunday September 2 2007, 10:24 pm: You should join a Spanish club or something. Spanish is very fun. Erinn_the_bamf wrote Sunday September 2 2007, 10:41 pm: I'm in the French exchange student club. French is fun! (That's actually what our old French books were called) Cux wrote Sunday September 2 2007, 10:44 pm: Haha- all of the language books are "Come with me!" in whatever language it is...
"Ven Conmigo!" -Spanish
"Komm mit!" -German
I don't know the rest. LOL_x0x wrote Sunday September 2 2007, 10:48 pm: So far, I've joined drama, french club, and student government. My friend wants me to join art club with him, even though I'm art challenged and can't even draw a stick person =] Cux wrote Sunday September 2 2007, 11:54 pm: Neither can I. Erinn_the_bamf wrote Monday September 3 2007, 8:49 am: I lack artistic talent, aswell.
"Venez avec moi!" is come with me in French. Venez may be viens though because you could use both. LOL_x0x wrote Monday September 3 2007, 9:53 am: Our books are called "Exploring French" or something. I'm not positive though, cause they're brand new and I've only used it twice. Erinn_the_bamf wrote Monday September 3 2007, 12:35 pm: Ours are Exploring French too, I'm pretty sure. Matt wrote Monday September 3 2007, 1:46 pm: No me gusta Espanol.
I said that nearly every day during biology last year. Cux wrote Tuesday September 4 2007, 11:55 am: School was alright today. I only went down the wrong hallway once- but that was first hour.
Before first hour, we had the ribbon cutting and the picture with everyone. Someone threw a piece of balled up paper at my head =/. But I found Leah before- and so we're next to each other in the picture.
My first hour teacher is .. well, I'm not really sure how to describe her yet. This is my History class.
My second hour teacher is cool, but kind of creepy at the same time. This is my English Honors class.
My third hour teacher is pretty nice- she's pregnant and we'll have a sub for 6 weeks starting in a few weeks. This is my Chemistry class.
My fourth hour teacher is really nice- I think I'm going to like her =D. This is my Journalism class.
My fifth hour teacher is really funny and she seems like she'll be one of my favorite teachers. This is my Spanish 3 class. We had to write down what we wanted our Spanish name to be- and we were supposed to have 3 choices- I only wrote down "Mario" because that is the name I had in Spanish 1 and a junior stole it last year in Spanish 2. So I was handing it to her- and she says, "Write down the reason why you really want only this name" so I wrote: "If I don't have this name- mi corazon will break in pieces". She smiled and took the paper =D. I think I impressed her using some Spanish the first day!
My sixth hour teacher is hilarious and really nice. She has an Easy Button and she seems like she'll be a favorite along with my Spanish teacher. There are only 8 people in this class- its the highest math in the school [Pre-Calc]- but only because its just Freshmen/Sophomores this year.
All-in-all, my first day was pretty sweet and I still can't get over how much I love this school =D.
How was everyone else's? Erinn_the_bamf wrote Tuesday September 4 2007, 12:27 pm: You guys have six classes a day? I only have four. We have half our classes first semester and the other half second semester.
Your school looks really nice and sounds like it's fun =D. Cux wrote Tuesday September 4 2007, 12:41 pm: Yeah- and some are semester classes- but I didn't take any semester classes this year. LOL_x0x wrote Tuesday September 4 2007, 4:25 pm: I have a few semester/quarter classes.
Government/photography.
and then health/drivers ed/gym.
It really confused me at first =/ Erinn_the_bamf wrote Tuesday September 4 2007, 5:18 pm: Since New Jersey is a shitty place, I can't take driver's ed yet.
And how did government and photography get paired together? LOL_x0x wrote Tuesday September 4 2007, 6:03 pm: I chose them. lol. I had to take government (which I'm actually really liking) and it's only a semester class, so I just picked photography for something fun next semester =] Erinn_the_bamf wrote Tuesday September 4 2007, 7:30 pm: Photography does sound very fun.
My elective this semester is Theatre Arts. I'm excited. Cux wrote Tuesday September 4 2007, 8:43 pm: Mine are technically all of my classes are electives:
Spanish 3 is.
Journalism is.
English 10 Honors is, because I could just be taking regular English 10.
Pre-Calc because I'm a year ahead of my class and I could have opted to retake Alg 2, but why would I have? lol.
Chemistry is because you have to be in Algebra 2 or have passed it to be in Chem. If I was dumb with math- well I would be taking Geophysical Science.
The only class I'm taking that all other Sophomores are taking is World Studies. Ew. Matt wrote Wednesday September 5 2007, 1:37 am: My creative writing class is going to be mopey "explore your mind and let it all out" shit. I could tell that after the first half hour. We were told to get the "editor off our shoulders" and write from the heart (threw up in my mouth a little when she said that). Then she said some will be called on to read there's out loud. How could someone write something from the heart if they were just going to present it in 5 minutes to a class they don't know? Instant BS. We could write on anything, so that's exactly what I wrote on. LOL_x0x wrote Wednesday September 5 2007, 4:19 pm: I'd love to take creative writing!
And our classes are all chosen by us, so I guess they could all be technically called electives?
But we just don't call the required ones (math, english, science) electives.
I don't know, get it? Erinn_the_bamf wrote Wednesday September 5 2007, 5:45 pm: Laure, my school is the dame way
School was awesome today. My bio teacher is the funniest person ever, my theatre arts class is so much fun, my math class is pretty fun, lunch food sucks, and I hate gym in general.
But all and all, I really am looking foward to the rest of the school year. LOL_x0x wrote Wednesday September 5 2007, 7:06 pm: My brother's best friend's dad teaches next door to my first class, and he always goes past and like, makes crazy faces.
The teacher's like, "WTF?" as I'm giggling.
=] Erinn_the_bamf wrote Wednesday September 5 2007, 8:55 pm: Ew, I spelled your name Laure. Sorry about that.
And oh gosh, I giggle so much during school. My teachers must think I'm seriously insane. Igotamonopoly wrote Tuesday October 2 2007, 11:53 pm: I do, too, when I'm in class with my friends.
My English teacher is on jury duty til December and we got the most gorgeous other teacher as a replacement.
I love school! Erinn_the_bamf wrote Wednesday October 3 2007, 2:36 pm: You should take pictures. You won't come off as a stalker at all!
