My roommates dog has fleas and is giving them to my cat? So my roommate and I live in an apartment on campus of our college. She had her dog when I moved in and then two months ago I got my kitty. When I first got him he didn't have fleas and he's never been outside. Then I started noticing flea dirt on my sheets. I wound up going crazy giving him flea ointment, vacuuming everything, cleaning my sheets, bedding and rugs.
The fleas went away for a little while and then I took my cat home for break for a month. No sign of fleas.
Now I'm back on campus and it's four days in and I just saw a flea jump off him and have been seeing flea dirt again.
I'm getting mad about it, but I know if I bring it up she's going to say it's my cat not her dog and that her dog doesn't have fleas. I also know she won't do anything about it.
If I go to the campus about it I'm afraid they'll charge us money to get the carpets treated and everything. Which I don't have that kind of money right now.
I also know at the end of may I'm moving into a different residence so maybe I should just keep treating my cat and wait it out?
What do I do?
