Well, I like this guy and he likes me. He likes me back but he is not allowed to date. We act like we are dating when there is no one else around but any time that there is any one around he just gets really weird. HELP!

So, you like a 7th grade guy? I know at first it seems like everything is going to go wrong. Your friends are going to make fun of you, his friends will make fun of him, and maybe his parents may even find out. The only big problem I see here is that he isn't allowed to date. The fact that you are different ages shouldn't be a problem at all whatsoever. At school it may seem like a big deal, and you may want to hide the fact you have feelings for each other, but trust me, in the end after you both graduate middle school, it won't even matter that you're one year of a difference. My grandma in fact, is 3 years older then my grandpa and they love each other and everything worked out. of course this is middle school, so on year may seem like a HUGE age gap between two, especially when the girl is older then the guy, but if you two really like each other, you shouldn't have a problem with "dating" him. It is a good idea not to showcase the fact that you like each other just yet, as his mom or dad do not allow him to date anyone. Once he IS allowed to date, you can start doing things more publicly like holding hands or going on small dates. I hope some of this advice helped and have a great day, and don't fret to ask any more questions <3 [ carebear2003's advice column | Ask carebear2003 A Question ]

Guys begin to like girls in middle school but too many are afraid of teasing from their friends if they let it be seen that they like someone. And teasing or being singled out at your age is something we all do not like. The fact that he is willing to hang with you when others are not around shows he's got more courage than his buddies if they aren't going after girls. As he grows older he'll likely be less shy.
