Possible drug trip? (Please reply especially if you have medical experience
Question Posted Monday October 17 2016, 10:08 pm
A couple of months ago, I was having a normal day, and was in the car with my family. I began to experience dry mouth and a bad taste, so I ate a Life Saver Wintergreen mint that I had in my bag. Towards the very end of the mint, I noticed something tasted strange. *The mint was not drugged*
Around ten minutes later, at about 6pm, I felt a little sleepy and leaned against the seat belt and either passed out, or just fell asleep, for a few minutes. When I woke up, I noticed that I didn't feel normal. I felt sort of like I was still in between dreaming and being fully conscious. I noticed that focusing my attention and my vision was a little difficult. I also had what I believe may have been an auditory hallucination, as I thought I heard a female speak German over the radio, say "Ich bleiben," meaning "I stay." (I was aware enough of what I heard that I tried to look it up after I heard it) I was curious about what was going on and decided to see what I could gather on how I was feeling. I tried to reply to a message on my phone, and found that, again, it was hard to keep my vision focused, and also that it was hard for me to type. This was frustrating for me. While in this state, I did not feel the need to respond to things or people around me, the way you do when someone says your name or speaks to you. I would describe it as sitting in a box and watching the rest of the world. I finally "snapped out of this" when my brother tapped me on the shoulder. I giggled as I tried to explain what was going on with me, and my limbs felt heavy and prickly, like when your foot falls asleep. My blood pressure and heart rate were above normal, and my dad took me to the hospital where I hallucinated Russian accents on the male nurses and 40's German music in the hospital lobby. I could also hear the computers humming and thought it was music. My dad said the lobby was dead quiet, but I heard all of this very clearly. The blood and urine tests came back negative for drugs.
I ask if this could have been drugs because the night before, I'll admit to being sexually active and not swallowing, but licking semen off of my fingers. My sex partner had taken molly (refined ecstasy) in the last 24 hours. That night, I also had a mini bottle of UV vodka, but it was all out of my system by about noon the day that this "episode" occurred. On top of tingling and partial numbness, and heaviness in my limbs, hands, and fingers, I was constantly moving, sort of swaying side to side. I had no perception of time- While I understood that time had passed, I could not make sense of it. I was unable to express my thoughts in the same way I am explaining this. My vocabulary felt limited and it was a bit of a struggle to get my ideas out my mouth. However, my thinking capabilities were entirely normal.
I have since seen a neurologist, as the ER told me it could have been an a-typical migraine or something seizure related. I had a sleep-deprived EEG and the results came back entirely normal. The neurologist said he had no explanation.
If someone with professional or other medical experience could give me some input on this, that would be great. Thank you in advance.
I say its serious cus if you are old enough to drive or will be soon and still have this, driving would be v ery dangerous for you and other drivers if you were to pass out or have trouble seeing, etc...
There are rare enough conditions that can afflict a person that many Dr.s may have heard of in school but never actually witnessed a case and so as its not so common, they won't just think of it.
When my first child went for a well check up after being about over a month old, she had developed big red bumps on her face and head.
I asked the Dr. what it was and he knew of the condition but couldn't tell me the name of it and had to go look it up. Not all Dr.s will take the time or even have the time to research for you so it may take some sort of specialist to do this is you can get a referral from your general practitioner. Since they said it could be seizure related, I'd get more checkups with neurologists.
I do know that there are people who have woken up the following morning hearing and speaking another language even tho never studying it. If you could find some of those people on the web, maybe they have posted blogs or on you tube, then ask them what their Drs. have said, perhaps you can dig up some info. on what it really is, even if rare, and then pass that on to your Dr. asking them to now check for it cus blood and urine tests, and the regular checks don't always reveal everything out there.
