Try to talk to him, find common interests, be confident and fun around him, try to look your best for him, but don't change you style, maybe just have a nice hairstyle and a nice smile (Don't overdo it), and when you are good friends, express how you feel, don't be really direct, maybe say something like, "Do you have a crush?" If he says no, wait a few more days, if he says yes ask him who, If he blushes, make a move, tell him you like him.
If you are to shy, text him saying you like him, if he likes you back, then good for you!! If he says he doesn't like you, say it was a friend who got your phone as a prank...
If you're the confident kind of person, just tell him directly.

You could invite him out in a group to a movie, bowling, party etc with friends. If he has any interest in you he will go. If he has an excuse or turns it down than you know he's notwrth yur efforts.
