Hi there! Since these pills contain hormones, they do take some time to make one feel better and feel normal. But, every body is different. If Celexa doesn't make you feel better within about 3 weeks, I would suggest talking to your doctor and seeing if there is another pill that may work better for you. Since everyone is different, some people will tell you that they've had wonderful experiences with Celexa and some will tell you it's been horrible. It's very similar with birth control pills because they contain hormones as well and depending on your body, people will react differently. I hope this helps xoxo

You might wanna consider finding more natural ways to improve your condition. From what I hear, pretty much all of those synthetic anti-depressives are bad and things will certainly get much much worse if you want to get off them later.

Meditation or yoga are great ways to relieve anxiety. If its hard for you to meditate, there's lots and lots of guided meditations on youtube. You just gotta look around and find one you like. Meditation also takes practice, so don't get discouraged if you don't "feel" anything for a few tries.

Celexa (citalopram) is an antidepressant in a group of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It may take 4 weeks or longer before your symptoms improve. Keep using the medication as directed and tell your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 4 weeks of treatment. About your medication. If your symptoms don't improve in 4 weeks contact your doctor.

That is the clinical information from the web concerning your medication.
