when i had my son we went thru that stuff like crazy!
But i would definitely check with the others if you can to see if theyve already bought that.
Also ask if she has a baby registry, so if you dont know what to pick then you can just follow that instead.
If she doesnt have one then maybe if your hanging out with her before the shower you could take her inside a store and help her start one. They give you a scanner and all you have to do is walk around the store and have her scan the stuff she wants. its really easy.
Dragonflymagic answered Wednesday February 3 2016, 10:37 pm: Alot depends on what she might already have. A good bet is fitted crib sheets as babies sleep alot and there's always the times when they wet through their diaper and clothes and the sheets too. If you are a crafty sort, perhaps get a baby pillow and stitch babys name onto it. Maybe people will be getting the cute clothes for newborns but if the baby is bigger than the clothes or close, they may not wear it well and often, some outfits never get worn, so if buying clothing, get some things for 6 or 9 months or even a year or so. A diaper bag is always handy or put together your own gift basket with things like teethers, pacifiers, rattles, diaper changing needs like powders and creams. For bigger items like a high chair, check with others going and have two or 3 of you go in on it together. Hope this gives you some ideas.
