Shaving my legs Last year I asked my mom if I could shave my legs, but she said no because it "blends in with my skin". But now I'm in 8th grade, where I do gym and a sport which I wear shorts 24/7. I'm really insecure about it sometimes because they are so hairy. I don't understand why, expecially when I'm allowed to shave my arms( what's the big difference?). What should I do? Thanks!

I am in 8th grade as well, and my mother let me start shaving my legs in 6th grade. I would have a talk with your mother and explain to her how it makes you uncomfortable. Give her reasons why you think you're ready to shave and prove to her that you are ready to begin shaving your legs. ]
At this point I would suggest speaking to your mom about it and expressing how unhappy you are with not being allowed to shave them and more importantly how paranoid and insecure you feel when you do sports and gym at school and how important this is to you. I'm sure she will understand if you just state your case and express why you want to shave your legs. I can't personally see why she would be against it myself but I'm a guy so maybe a female might be able to better shed some light on this if there is some specific reason why your mom may be holding back in letting you shave your legs. ]
