Sweaty Problems

Question Posted Saturday August 9 2014, 8:47 am

So I have a problem with sweating and it's pretty bad. I get hot easily and I sweat through my clothes and it not only looks disgusting, but I get so embarrassed! I have band camp coming up on Monday through next week Friday and I have to wear a certain color shirt each day. I'm so nervous that my team will see my shirt sweaty and they'll think I'm disgusting. I can't help it! How do I stop sweating?! I need advice before Monday and fast. Please help!!!

I have the same problem and this changed my life: get a cup of baking soda and add just enough water to mix it into a thick paste. Slather it all over your armpits (preferably with a towel, but a paper towel or your hand will work as well). Let it sit for 20-30 minutes (be shirtless during this time so it doesn't get on clothing and mess with the effects of the baking soda). After letting it sit, rinse it off, dry well, and apply a THIN layer if deodorant or none at all, it depends on your body how much deodorant you need after this process. After doing this, if I don't put on deodorant, I start sweating again after about 7 hours. The process works best if you do it directly after showering and shaving your armpits. Dry them well after showering and get it on BEFORE you start sweating.

Hi there! Wow this is a hilarious coincidence, but I also have band camp on Monday through next week Friday, but I'm on the color guard team. I can't play an instrument. But anyway, I also had the same problem in summer gym this year. I sweat a lot because I'm nervous about everything. I found out if you wear polyester shirts, you can barely see or not see at all pit sweats and wherever else you sweat. Also, you need to stay really hydrated. Bring a ton of water and if it's really sunny and hot out, wear a ton of sunscreen. Sweat sticks to certain sunscreens and so you don't look like you're sweating. And if you are allowed to, wear a spaghetti strap top but with a 2 inch strap. So pretty much a sleeveless top, but has a strap on it. Those kinds of shirts show no sweat whatsoever. I hope you have an amazing time at band camp! If you need any more advice, ask me on my advice column. I'm here for you! Good luck and have fun!

You could go to your doctor and try and get some sort of a prescription anti persperant, or just try a more powerful one and apply it reguarally and keep a towel or something to soak it up every once in a while. try staying cool with a wet handband and pony tails, and if you are sweating a lot you still need to stay hydrated. try to not worry about it so muc, and try to have fun.
