Hi, I'm 13 and my friend and I are trying out for field hockey tomorrow and I only have a pair of sneakers. I don't own any running shoes and I don't know what to do. My question is, is there a DIY I can do to make these sneakers a little more supportive for playing field hockey until I can get some real running shoes?

Sometimes we had the money and many times we did not. I checked withthe school counselors to see if there were any programs to help school age children. My local c ommunity had a "Clothes for Kids" program, donated 2nd hand clothing for kids of all ages, brand new socks and underwear and in some cases shoes. I would suggest checking with the school if there isn't some program like that in your area and state why you are asking. Even if you can afford it later by saving up for some time, thats still a strain if the family doesn't have the amount for a pair of shoes right now or next week. Basically, if you qualify for the free lunch program, theres a likelihood that you would qualify for such a program if there is one in your community.
